Major Tomato is Major Yummy. I ordered a large half major tomato half major potato and they were both so yummy. I also ordered the pizza salad; which to me was ok. The ratio of lettuce to toppings wasn’t great(not a lot of pepperoni or cheese) and for the amount of lettuce I felt 2 of the dressing cups would have been more ideal. Thumbs up on the pizza though!!!

I tried this place for the first time a couple weeks ago and have been back three times since then. The pizza crust is phenomenal and the overall flavor of the pizza is delicious. Cheese Louise rocks!!! I added fresh tomato to mine and it leaves me wanting more.

Best Pizza Around! Get the Cheese Louise and the major cheesebread. I prefer the pizza with less toppings since it is a thinner crust. If you like toppings, order the major cheesebread and add your toppings there. The best!

You have to be really good to compete in Allen Park. The city is full of really good pizza. This place stands out, try it.

I got carry out from Major Tomato a couple of weeks ago with my boyfriend for our first #IndulgenceDateNight and it was delicious. The first point I want to make is that they do half and half of their specialty pizzas of any size including small. So we got two smalls: one half major potato with broccoli, potato, cheddar cheese and white sauce & one half: choked up that has artichoke, spinach, feta and roasted red pepper. The other small was half the aloha with pineapple, ham, bacon, BBQ sauce and red sauce and the other half was just another supreme which has pepperoni, Italian sausage, green pepper, onion and mushroom. We also ordered a major cheese bread with butter, Parmesan, Romano, mozzarella, feta and smoked Gouda. Everything was delicious. I’m a small girl with a large appetite and we could of ordered a third small pizza. But we finished everything. My favorite was the Aloha. And the cheese bread. The ranch was the best ranch I have ever had in my life and contained pieces of dill. It tasted like a dill dip that would have for veggies. FANTASTIC. My only note I would make is that the crust is very crunchy and ripped up the roof of my mouth a little bit, so be prepared. This could also have been because we got it carry out and it might have toughened up a bit. The total was under $ 30 with tip and tax. Not bad for all of the specialty pizzas! Enjoy!

Major Tomato is a wonderful family establishment and I’m so glad they opened in Allen Park. I took my third grade class here for an economics field trip last year and the students loved it. The staff was wonderful to work with when organizing the field trip and so welcoming to students and parents alike. They even opened up for us on a Monday when they are typically closed. MT is a valued addition to this community. I also frequent Major Tomato myself, outside of school trips. MT is a great alternative for health conscious folks who still like to indulge in «junk food» like pizza, burgers, and hot dogs. My favorite things to order are the Sir Rancha Pizza and the Major Cheese Bread. They also give you the option to build your own pizza, burger, or hot dog. Most of the time I carry out, but occasionally I will dine in. The service has always been friendly and prompt. When dining in, you place your order and pay at the counter, then find a seat and someone will bring your food out to you. The atmosphere is inviting and clean, and I love the artwork on display! Allen Park and the Downriver community need more establishments like MT.

A great small business in downtown Allen Park. The food is really good & fresh and the staff is always very nice. The inside is nicely decorated and its good to eat in or carryout. The only bad thing is the parking but not much they can really do about that.

Fantastic, tasty little pizza joint! And healthy too! Here’s what we ordered: tomtatoes(an appetizer not to be confused with tomatoes), a 10″ cheese pizza, a 10″ Aloha pizza, and a veggie burger with cheddar cheese, lettuce, spinach, tomato, pickles, grilled onions, mushrooms and green peppers. Also had some Knudsen juice and Virgil’s root beer of course. The pizza crust was FANTASTIC! Very impressive flavor and texture, and cooked to a thin-crust-lover’s definition of perfection. Sauce: awesome! Cheese: delicious. Toppings on the Aloha: perfect. Veggie burger: 2 thumbs up! The little tomtatoes were the only thing I can’t rave about; although they were tasty, I personally didn’t love them – but get this, my 14-yr old son really dug them! The accompanying red sauce comes cold, and I think having it hot would have contributed to my loving them rather than simply liking them. It’s so impressive that their ingredients are not only fresh but also local or organic, and corn syrup is seriously avoided in this place — even the BBQ sauce has none. Another example of freshness was the spinach: the generous handful contained only picture-perfect, fresh, beautiful leaves. Next time I’ll try their locally-farmed grass-fed all-beef hamburger. The inside is small but cozy, tastefully decorated(eclectically ‘themed’, if that’s even possible) and well-equipped. The restrooms are neat, decorated, very clean, and they even smell good! Oh, and the pricing, easily available online, is more than fair. Not too many places nowadays where one comes away feeling like they got a very good value, but given both the quantity ANDQUALITY we had – spending only $ 30 and walking out with leftovers – this place is a freakin awesome value. And to feel good about all the ingredients too! Seriously, I’m not sure why we waited so long to check these guys out, but this little joint is fantastic, and we’ll definitely be heading back to Allen Park for some Major Tomato!

We get this twice a month as carry-out when we want pizza. Consistent, well-constructed, and fresh ingredients. (We’ve never tried the burgers and dogs.) There’s plenty of competition for traditional«Italian» take-out pizza loaded with pounds of mozzarella. Cheaper too. Much. This is thin crust pizza with precisely measured toppings so you can enjoy the flavors. I suppose it would be considered kind of foofy and pretentious to those in the family who think anything Underarmer is a fashion statement. And I do wear UA stuff around sometimes. It’s filling but not in the doughy, mega-cheese kind of way. Bottom line is that if you know what you’re buying, then you’re going to get what you ordered. For pizza, I guess that’s pretty much a given. The $ 5 hot-n-ready is what it is. The $ 8 local large loaded with stuff is what it is. These guys have put together suggested combinations of ingredients that go great with their niche variation of pizza. Five stars because it’s really good.(I have yet to find any pizza that’s great even when we once visited Italy.)

This place can be summed up in one word, awesome. The food is always fresh and delicious. The staff, even though they all look like hipsters, are very friendly and attentive. Even the price is perfect for the quality and service that you receive. No complaints and will be going back many times.

Great little Allen Park business! The building is small so there’s not much seating but take-out is an option. The place is very clean and everyone is friendly. The food is good, I’ve only had the pizza but both times it’s been delicious. They serve«better for you» pizza and hot dogs. They have salads on the menu but they seem a little pricey, I’ve never tried them. Definitely give them a try!

This place was great when I first went. Fresh, organic ingredients. Crisp, clean environment, friendly service, plenty of free parking. But alas, like any first love, it wasn’t meant to be. I’m glad to know that there’s a healthy pizza option even if it is a bit overpriced. Salads are $ 7. They serve cane sugared sodas, grass fed burgers($ 6) and organic hot dogs($ 3.75). They don’t have side dishes which is a bit weird. I think sweet potato fries or sauteed kale would go a long way. But I came for the pizza. Pepperoni costs the same as a Supreme($ 9, $ 13 or $ 17). I loved the Pep which consists of pepperoni, pepperoni and more pepperoni on a thin, crispy crust. The Supreme on the other hand, was unremarkable. The ingredients were right: pepperoni, Italian sausage, green pepper, mushroom, hold the onions. But the taste was off-balance. There wasn’t enough cheese or sauce. And it did not re-heat well. Everything wilted and the crust became a bit chewy(think Red Baron from the Kroger aisle). I think it was just an off-night. I gave it four stars cause it was really good the first time. But Sade said it best, «Nothing is good as the first time».

I love that the owners were running the register when we walked in. We had never been there before and told them so and they were more than willing to run down the menu and process for us. You order at the counter, have a seat wherever you want, and they’ll bring it to your table. We ordered a basic pepperoni for my son and their«supreme»(the name escapes me at the time) and both were perfect. The crust was crispy and thin, but not burnt. It took about 20 minutes to come out and while we were waiting, our table was prepped with parm cheese, red pepper, plates, and silverware. The place is impeccably clean, down the bathrooms which are decorated with old pictures of the city, service was great, and quite a few people that walked in seemed to be regulars, for great reasons, obviously.

Ambience — The space has a modern loft fell. Also they have a love of David Bowie! Service — Ordering is walk up and you clean your own table but they do bring your food and drinks to the table. Food/Drinks — This is the restaurants strong point. The food is very good! They use high quality ingredients that makes the food just better then most pizza places. Overall — This is my family’s new favorite pizza place. We love eating in or just grabbing take out. If you are near by it’s a must.

So far this is one of the best pies I’ve had in the area. I am a little bit of a pizza snob though, so it’s gonna be tough to get a 5th star from me… especially with no beer(or wine) to wash it down with. I know, I know… it’s hard to get a liquor license. But come on! I need some beer with my pizza! With that out of the way, I can say that the crust is pretty good: thin(could be a little thinner) and the right mix of soft and crunchy. The sauce is very tomato-y(i.e., tastes very fresh), and the toppings are tasty and in the right amount. The salads leave a little to be desired. I hate that they come in a plastic container with the dressing on the side. I like when a salad is tossed with the dressing so that you can have the dressing evenly mixed. Plus, you cannot get the salad out of those plastic tins w/o spilling it all over the place. Sure, those plastic things are good for«to-go» orders when I can throw it in a bigger bowl, but not good for sitting in. There’s parking on the street that can be hit or miss. The vibe in the place is kinda hipster, which is cute. And they have trivia cards on the table. Nice place, definitely worth checking out.

This place was really great. Loved the atmosphere and the pizza was delicious! For my quick trip to Detroit I went back twice and tried the bbq pizza and the meatsiah, as well as the breadsticks. They were all very well done and very good! It did take a little bit of time but that’s understandable since I’m assuming they’re making them fresh. Definitely try this if you’re in the area and want some delicious pizza.

Love this place, it has hip vibe and delicious pie! The pizza here is a thin crispy crust and they really care about the ingredients used on their products. They also offer a veggie burger, hotdog and a gluten free crust. I highly recommend you try the Major Potato, it’s unusually delicious or you can try two pizzas at once by getting a two halves of different pies. They very accommodating and will pretty much do whatever you ask.

Really enjoyed this new place in Allen Park. It is situated on the downtown part of Allen Park on Allen Road. It has the capacity to seat about 30 people or so inside. The place is clean and neat with simple décor. I ordered a cheeseburger that I thought was really good. It was organic grass fed beef with a wheat bun. You can select the topping(except) cheese for free. We also got a 14 inch cheese pizza for my kids to split. They really liked it. I also had a few pieces and found it to be pretty good. My wife had a hot dog with mushrooms, cheese, onion and mayo.(don’t understand mayo let alone on a hot dog) The drinks were interesting and out of the ordinary. They served Virgil’s cream soda and root beer among other kinds of drinks. The only thing that stood out to me as somewhat strange are the hours. I eat earlier than most people and see that it is not open during usual«burger place hours». Overall, I will definitely go back here and bring others with me.

We ordered the edgy veggie gluten free pizza and it was really good! When we ordered, we asked to minus the broccoli on half of it, & to add jalapenos to the half that still had the broccoli on it. They accidentally put the jalapenos on the half w/o broccoli, but realized they did it wrong, so they made a whole new pizza, but still brought the first one out for us to eat while we waited. That is great customer service if you ask me! :) most places would have just asked if it was OK, and leave it at that, but they had already started making the other pizza before they brought the first one out. we will definitely be back here — the gluten free crust was delicious — crispy on the edges, chewy in the middles, which was a great combo, the veggies were fresh and tasty. The crust is more of a“thin crust” pizza, which is my favorite — it is so yummy. Next time I want to try the pepperoni pizza, and maybe one of their burgers. So glad to finally have a local business that uses local fresh organic ingredients!
