Along time ago, when I worked at the Eastwest Bank corporate office, I used to walk to the 7-Eleven location to get a little air, and pick up the usual fare of snacks, fountain drinks, and gum. The 7-Eleven has those things, although it is a smaller location sort of hidden behind the Pharaohs burger. Like my other favorite people watching 7-Eleven, it is located next to a laundromat… Which means that the delightful parade of humanity’s outliers marches here in all their glory. At certain times of the day, when traffic is at its most heavy, getting in and out of this parking lot can be a little challenging. This is exacerbated by the outstanding driving skills often exhibited on Garfield and Atlantic, which more or less come together at this location. Throw in a strange and unique intersection with Huntington, los Robles, and an In N Out location, and leaving the parking lot can be downright dangerous. Look both ways, put down the hotdog and get out of there safely.

This 7 Eleven is the one located at the strange intersection of Atlantic and Garfield(right next to Pharo’s Burgers). I come to this one so often that the guy who works here in the morning actually remembers exactly what I buy each time! I stop by this 7 Eleven throughout different times of the day and any time that I come here, the service here is fine. It’s the safest 7 Eleven for me because it’s right by Pharos, In & Out, Ralph’s and between busy streets. Also there’s usually a cop car or two parked there during their break(for burgers).

This review is based on the quality of customer service, personnel and management. It’s horrible – especially(with no disrespect to the indian community) the indian people that work here. They are so disrespectful and quite rude. Fake smiles(if they even smile), horrible attitude, it feels like they don’t even want to be there! I dread going here if the indian workers are here. This is by far the worst 7 – 11 I have ever been to in my life. Don’t even bother purchasing anything here – everything is written up about 2 times the price of other convenient stores. Cigarettes are like 7 – 8 dollars with misleading signs in the front that says 4.99 or something. A lot of there other products are misleading as well which will piss the hell out of customers(get a clue). Never mislead your customers! Provide acceptable customer service, don’t be fake and smile more! If you don’t like being there then find another job! I withdrew some money there recently and this tall indian fellow makes an inappropriate comment to me about the ATM not giving me change for $ 20. That is an extremely disrespectful thing to say to me. I even tried to buy something to get change and guess what? The sign was misleading and he charged me a different price! I was so pissed! He said, here is a complete refund, now which one do you want? I said, none and walked away. I’m sorry but the customer service here is below acceptable and the indian people here need a lesson in American culture and customer service classes big time! So rude! I will never go here again!

This 7 – 11 is pretty much what you would expect in a normal North American 7 – 11. Some highlights would definitely be the other stores sharing the same parking lot, including the Pharos Burger and Laundromat which I use often. Across the street is an In-n-out as well, making this 7 – 11 perfect for picking up a drink to go with your delicious lunch/dinner. This 7 – 11 also lies on the brink of Huntington Drive, the main street of the city of San Marino, so it’s extremely safe and I wouldn’t think twice going their late at night. The one incident that I’ve heard of happening in San Marino in my 22 years of life, a robbery at this very 7 – 11, turned into like a city-wide alert, and as far as I know, no one was hurt and the culprit was eventually caught. Anyways, point is. It’s safe.

I can’t say much about this 7-Eleven other than that it’s nice, brightly lit and makes me feel safe in the parking lot late at night. While I was here sort of hanging out, I observed people coming in at all hours and leaving without really buying anything. I definitely thought that was weird since I thought people only came to 7 – 11’s late at night after everything else is closed to get alcohol. I suppose they could eat too … Anyway, seemed like the staff was pretty chill, nothing really going on.

My local 7-Eleven…about a block away. Good service, friendly and clean. Can’t ask for much more from a 7 – 11. Great for an emergency milk and cookie run for late chess matches and movies nights. It’s in a strip mall. Parking shared with a few other shops, but it’s typically not a problem.

The people who work here are super friendly and greet me by name. There’s Ruby or Nino in the morning, Jose in the afternoon, and Daya at night. You can’t go wrong with this 7 – 11, and the people who work here will actually talk to you, unlike some 7 – 11’s where the employees are just droids that speak English.
