I came to Heidi’s salon, so excited there was a new hair place in my neighborhood. She is a very nice person, so it pains me to write this review, but if people are paying full salon price for a service, they should know what to expect. Heidi does it all, nails, waxing, hair, tattoos, lashes. I can only speak for my full foil/hair cut(layers). I have long straight brown hair, went in with grown out roots that had very subtle warm blonde highlights on the ends. Similar to Balayage. I asked her to match the blonde on my ends to the top. She suggested also adding a very dark brown to add more definition, I was hesitant but we settled on a med brown and she promised she would do it very blended and natural. My words to her were«I don’t want a ton of contrast, no stripes. I just want a subtle natural look» It took her over 2.5 hours to get the foils into my hair(I don’t have a lot of hair) She started on the top of my head. So by the time the bottom foils were finally in, the top had been sitting a long time. My final result for the color, was that of bright, thick white stripes bleached onto my head, with brown stripes between. All the same size. So much contrast. Nothing natural about it. And they didn’t even go to the scalp, looking like it was a bad bleach job grown out. My hair looked almost salt and pepper, a huge difference from the warm brown with honey blonde highlights I’d gone in with. Then she layered my hair. My fine hair tends to get stringy and flat when it gets about breast length, so I asked her to put in some layers and cut a couple inches off, for body. I am more displeased with the dye job. But I’m not satisfied with the cut, either. My hair somehow looks thinner than before, and she even told me to «stand up so it is straight» and used clippers on the ends. I have never once had clippers to my hair during a haircut. I typically don’t complain, and I didn’t want her feelings hurt so I thanked her and paid. The next day, I set up an appt with another salon to have it fixed, and decided to express my disappointment with heidi, and asked for a partial refund(I said I am still happy to pay you for your time, but just wanted some money back to help cover the costs to have it fixed) it turned into a day long of messages(another thing, she spent so much time texting and on fb while doing my hair) arguing back and forth. She said she would tone it for me. But I know just toner wouldn’t correct the stripes, only make them less white. Honestly, I don’t trust her to fix it herself. She gave me exactly what I said I didn’t want in the first place. And very subpar work, from your regular salon service. I wish I had found reviews before I went to see her, because I can only afford to have my hair done a few times a year, and when I go in to get something done, paying full price, I expect to get what I asked for. She was a nice person, and I hoped to get a pedi from her someday, but I will never go back. I am disappointed with her work, and also how she treated me when I tried to discuss my disappointment in a very nice way. My guess is that she tries to do too many things, without focusing on any specialty. Lame, and I was so excited to have a salon within walking distance!
