I received a flyer advertising a sale for contact lens. I needed to reorder them anyway so it was a good timing. I called up the vision center and was able to place my order over the phone. Since I went to the doctor at Walmart a few months ago, the lady that I spoke with was able to place my order without having me going there to give her the prescription. A few days later, I received a call letting me know that my contact lenses are available for pick up. I went in on a Sunday, but they were closed(should have checked first, but I had to get stuff at Walmart anyway so it was not a big deal). I showed up the next day thinking that the close at 9pm, but I was wrong again. I showed up around 8:30pm and they closed at 8pm; however someone was still in the store, so he was able to give me my contact lenses. I guess it was not a problem since I already paid for them when I placed my order. I also placed an order with them about a year ago and had vision insurance back then. About a month after I bought the contact lenses, they sent me a refund check. Apparently the insurance company paid them more than what was initially estimated so they sent me a refund for the difference.

I’ve been to this location once, and needless to say, it will have been my first and last time. I frequently travel back and forth between here and my home state, Hawaii, so I usually get my annual eye exam with my Dr there(either at Lens Crafters or Walmart). I was in VA when I needed to renew my eye exam this year and order some new contacts, so I decided to head to Walmart. I went to book an appointment & was immediately turned off by the folks running the Vision Center. They were very unprofessional and not very friendly. I should have walked away then but I was desperate for new contacts and they were able to schedule me for the next day so I decided to take it. The doctor’s office smells very funky — old, and musky come to mind. The doc was nice, although I will be honest and say that he gave me a very creepy vibe(I wish I could elaborate but I don’t want to be too mean). Anywho, I got my new prescription and contacts and left. I stopped in a couple of times to reorder contacts and the staff is still very unprofessional. They chatter and laugh with each other and do not show much customer service, which annoys me. This eye exam happened a year ago and I was compelled to write a review after I had an eye exam today, at Costco. It was $ 20 more, but in comparison with Walmart, the Costco doc was much more thorough! I suppose you really do get what you pay for.
