I walk by this place all the time, but the windows are blacked out so you can’t see anything but the international calling card adverts. Which left me thinking this might be a front for the Ugandan mafia. Is there such a thing? If there is, they likely operate out of here. But when I read Angry Orangehead Mikey’s review saying Sierra Market carried Coke from Mexico with cane sugar, I decided to pop in the next time I was passing by(which is usually on the way to or from devouring a half price, two pound lobster and some brews at Shooter McGee’s — yes, you’ve been missing out). Unfortunately, Sierra carries cane sugar Coke no mo’(at least that I could find — I couldn’t ask, because the lady at the register was *really* engrossed in a very animated call on her cellie). Major disappointment. But there’s lots of rice and flour. A few spices. Limited produce. Whole dried fish. And Vienna wieners. A truly *international* selection! Everything is displayed minimally, and it’s spartan inside. If you can’t walk to this market, I’m not quite sure about the logistics of shopping here. It’s on the service road alongside Duke Street, but the«parking lot» is four spots packed in at odd angles. The most popular option seems to be pulling your vehicle directly onto the sidewalk/apron in front of the store. Every time I walk by there’s another one haphazardly idling there. Overall, not the best specialty market in the area, but passable. It reminds me I need to edit my review of Sangeet to give them more credit.
