Rachel M Schlesinger Concert Hall and Arts Center

(This is probably closer to 3.5 stars to me, but I’m rounding up because I’ve always enjoyed the concerts here.) This intimate-​sized concert hall is very pretty and has very good acoustics. Seating is on two levels and in standard concert hall seats — comfortable but with limited legroom — nearly all of which seem to have very good sightlines to the stage. I’ve only been here for Alexandria Symphony Orchestra concerts, but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it.
The large lobby and public spaces on the second level occasionally show art exhibits. There’s plentiful parking in a garage across the street from the hall, although police guidance is necessary to ease traffic through the traffic circle and in and out of the garage’s two entrances.

This is a really beautiful performance space in Alexandria. It’s modern and seems new. I saw the Marine Corp. Band’s Young People’s Concert here with my 6 year old daughter. It’s an annual event in April and one of the best free kids programs I have been to in the DC area. They made opera fun to kids! Other audience members said the shows are always that good. I’m definately going back.
