This place is beyond words. Maybe I’m partial to it because I live a block away. Maybe I’m partial to it because I love dark beer and great people. Regardless of my reasons for loving this establishment, I truly do. I will buy all my beer here. My girlfriend loves their wine selection. They even sell growlers of their draft beer. Their prepared foods are to die for and the staff is great. I’m glad this place is in my neighborhood. I will be spending much time and money there. Much.

I love this place. I’ve gone in many times for wine. They’ve always been super helpful with helping me pick out a bottle. But this review is of the dinner I had the other night. I had a been a bit leery to come based on some negative reviews… but I had always wanted to go. The service was really good! They were friendly, attentive and helpful. We had a bottle of red wine, the white bean dip, some mac and cheese and soup. Everything was delicious! I’ll definitely be coming back! The only bit I was disappointed with was their wine list– which was surprising, because there’s so much wine in the store! There was around 10 bottles on the list and they were all round $ 40. I asked about grabbing a bottle from inside, which they said was ok, but that there would be a $ 15 corkage fee, which seemed pretty step, I mean, I’m buying a bottle from their store. Give me a break! Overall– good experience. Good food, good service, just hoping for a break on the wine!

The prices are high and the hours are limited. I was so excited to have a coffee shop and restaurant within walking distance of home. The biggest issue is that it’s never open when I want to go. 6:30 on Sunday for dinner? CLOSED. 10:30 a.m. for coffee on a Saturday morning? CLOSED. I want so badly for this location to work, but G&B, you’re making it really tough to be a customer.

This place is adorable inside & out! You can stay & eat or just pick up wine & some of the market food to go. The wine & food selection is limited but it is quaint & charming. I’ve only been once but I want to go back!

the food is great — 4.5/ 5 stars for that. and the service WAS great, there used to be two very friendly, down-to-earth ladies who worked there. around july 2015, these ladies were replaced by two women whose service i’d at best rate 2⁄5 stars. i live one block away from this restaurant and used to go every week, but will probably not be going again every time we go, we wait 30 minutes for them to stop yick yacking away to each other in the corner and notice we’ve sat down. then whenever one of them comes over, they walk up, give us a rather contemptuous look, and SOMETIMES ask us what we want/how the food us, but not always. then they go back to gossiping in the corner. i can’t reiterate enough how much time they spend in the corner. the atmosphere has gone from ‘friendly neighborhood restaurant’ to a room where one feels wholly out of place. UPDATE: I’ve spoken with a number of my neighbors. They agree and have, like me, stopped going altogether(whild they used to go quite often)

I really like grape and bean, I really do… but the hours! Trying to remember which location(they’re both old town-ish) which location is open which days and what days are restaurant days and what days are just store days, and oh my! that’s too much! I wish it was more simpler, for instance we know for sure in Old Town, they’ll be open for brunch… however, I would prefer to have my cheese and wine without so much of a crowd.

Lunch was fine but it was a lot of money to spend for a bratwurst and a really long wait for everything. There were just 2 or 3 other tables of 2 – 4 people eating lunch, but we only saw our server 5 times in 2 hours before we paid the bill, which we had asked for on the fourth sighting to no avail. I thought $ 15 for a bratwurst and potato salad was a bit pricey(according to the menu), figured it was a Del Ray thing; when the check came it was actually $ 18, but I was already running late enough and didn’t want to raise a fuss in front of my pleasant company(so I’m raising it here). The brat itself was pretty overcooked and shriveled, but at least the oversize baguette it came on was filling.

We’ve tried to visit several times since this is walking distance for us and want to make this good but it just is frustrating. I agree with another reviewer– the staff there are disorganized and rude. We were starting to be seated by a staff member at a table when a woman came out and announced we couldn’t have the table– someone else was waiting for it– fine. We then went inside to wait and she ignored us, giving several(later arriving) groups tables before us. The only time she came back to talk to us was to tell us how exhausted and stressed out/over worked she was. Oh, and to blame her busboy for having tried to seat us. After listening to her huff we weren’t in the mood and just left. Get your service together Grape and Bean.

Two friends and I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. The service was lovely and the food was excellent — so flavorful. So glad we stopped in on this cold, rainy Sunday and enjoyed the warmth of Grape & Bean. We look forward to going back!

The staff was so RUDE! The woman had no idea what she was talking about while serving wine. As soon as we walked in they rolled their eyes. We were offered the opportunity to wait for table. Unfortunately, parties that walked in after us were seated instead of us. We we’re seated right in front of the exits and when I asked why we couldn’t sit at a table we were told there was too many of us and it was a fire hazard. While the whole time we were blocking the exit because the place is so small. After waiting for an hour and a half without being seated, we decided to leave. I thought this would definitely be a hit after reading the reviews on Unilocal but I was very disappointed.

Nice little neighborhood deli and bar with a decent local selection. Prices are high at $ 7.50 for a draft beer and $ 11 for the least expensive glass of wine.

The Grape + Bean is a wonderful and quaint place to stop in and get some amazing homemade food and craft brews! They have an amazing selection of beer and wine, I fell in love with their Mac + Cheese AND their service was both laid back and very professional! 5 Stars!

This was my first time here, my bestfriend and I absolutely loved it! The Mac & Cheese small plate, and the house made dip are delicious! We also split a bottle of JK’s Northern Neighbour Cider. I highly recommend!

As recent Old Town to Rosemont transplants, we couldn’t be happier to have a Grape & Bean in our new hood! This was our go-to place during the winter months right after we moved — grabbing a quick pesto for dinner, that necessary jug of milk, or stopping in for charcuterie and draft beers after a long day of unpacking. Ben and Stephanie immediately started to know our names, further solidifying our loyalty to this corner charmer. Since then I’ve often run in for a quick 6 of wine for impromptu dinner parties, and always been given a great selection that was personally picked for me. This location is right on my drive home, and I keep drooling over the newly opened outdoor patio that I can’t wait to try out! So keep up the good work G & B! — Nat & Todd

Hubs and I stopped by G+B Rosemont for a late evening charcuterie board and found way more than I anticipated! Warm, friendly service and well curated groceries, beer, and wine items. We enjoyed a board of 5 meats and cheeses and split the ham gruyère sandwich. I love a kitchen that serves super sassy whole grain mustard. Everything was wonderful, but the pâté was unfortunately forgettable. We’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu… or stick with the old faithful of charcuterie boards.

Upping the rating since they are now serving great soups, sandwiches, and wines/beers by the glass! Perfect convenient neighborhood location and always friendly service make this our go to place for meals ready to go and a date night.

Oh, it’s so close to perfect! On a recent visit, I loved sitting outdoors with a glass of wine, children playing by my feet(it was between 3 and 5 and there were no other patrons on the outdoor patio, so having the kiddos there at that time worked nicely. Not sure that would be the case after 5! And that’s fine. I don’t exactly enjoy an evening glass of wine WITH my kids ;). The service was prompt and efficient, not overly friendly, but definitely fine and just right. And the reason I’m not giving 5 stars: The patio is directly in line with the South and West sun, yet it is completely umbrella-free. I wonder if this is a zoning matter? Oh, the shade on that sunny, hot afternoon would have been most-welcome. I imagine summer patrons would share this sentiment. But again, maybe there is a neighborhood restriction prohibiting shade-providing fixtures/umbrellas. Also, there is plenty of street-parking on a Friday afternoon(but note — alcohol is not served until 4:30). And, again, this place is arguably kid-friendly at the *right* time AND if you’re outdoors(plus, take into account your child’s demeanor/activity level. If they’re not into sitting outdoors and coloring, call the babysitter!). Looking forward to another outdoor glass of wine on a cooler day!

A very nice place. We were looking for a wine bar and the bartender was so nice. I forgot his name. He said he was from Hawaii? Anyway, I wanted something like a dessert wine since we already had dinner and he gave me such a good recommendation. Then he asked us what we were doing in town and gave us some wonderful suggestions. We took him up on one of his many suggestions and had a pretty good time. Wine selection and coffee selection is wonderful. Loved it. We wanted to go back, but didn’t have time before we had to return to L.A. Next time definitely!

The Apple flavored Fizzy Lizzy sodas are so good! Wife and I can’t tell what this shop is actually supposed to be but, it’s cute and a nice bike ride from home. Check it out for sure. Pricey though.

It is so great to see a truly neighborhood wine bar open in our Rosemont neighborhood. Grape+Bean brings us great wines, superior beer(i.e , Port City), and a wonderful neighborhood vibe to what was previously a pretty seedy convenience store space. I’m psyched to have such great neighbors and hope you will spend your wine, beer, and gourmet food dollars here. And who knows? If things go well, we might some day have great wine and fine sit-down dining within steps of our Rosemont homes. Let’s hope we can all make this work!
