Still don’t know the name of the dish but it is the fried rice with pineapple… DELICIOUS!!! Have ordered multiple times, decent portion and great taste. Have ordered a few staple items, all good but that fried rice ROCKS!

Wife and I love this place. We’re fortunate because we live right across the street from Eastern. Therefore, our food does not sit in a car for 20 – 30 minutes. Chinese food needs to be consumed right after it’s prepared and that is how fortunate we are when we order from here. If you have time, grab a table and dine in, and I guarantee you will have fresh ordered food for you to enjoy.

For those who are confused. Bamboo garden and Eastern Carryout are the same. I order here for Lunch when I’m on the clock. Cheap lunch specials and A LOT of food. One entrée will last me Lunch and Dinner. BANGFOTHEBUCK.
3-Stars cause its typical Chinese food. Nothing special or amazing. Your generic Americanized-Chinese food and sometimes thats good.

1st time here. Called for carry out. Singapore noodles.(That is my go to). It was ready when I got there. The good was hot and fresh. VERYFLAVORFUL! The shrimp, pork, noodles EVERYTHING was fresh and could distinguish the flavor between all of them yet it all blended together perfectly. Very impressed with the quality of the food. Nice family owned. Stays open late. Clean. I will go back.

Fast. Great selection. Little pricey but why not? The food is great! This is a REAL carryout with so much to chose from. Get the Steak and Cheese. Hands down. They give you so much meat, it’s almost enough for 2 sandwiches! I love it! Oh their egg rolls are the bomb too :)

This place is really just your average Chinese carry out, except for the fact that they serve up so really delicious egg rolls. Yes, I said egg rolls and not the pale imitation that most Chinese restaurants attempt to pass off as the original version of egg roll goodness. So bring on that deep fried crunchy egg roll, Eastern Carryout, it is what you do best. Oh, and since I have time, maybe an order of chicken fried rice with what I hope is some good old fashioned MSG ;)

Called in a delivery, the lady on the phone was one of the rudest people I ever spoke to. They over charged and when the food got here it wasn’t even correct. I will never go here again and recommend you do not either.

I can’t like this place. They have treated my 80-year-old grandma so terribly over the years(and I really can’t understand why she continues to order from the place). And the customer service isn’t very good. Case 1: My grandma orders delivery from them often, even though we live a couple of blocks away. When the delivery guy arrived, he basically grumped at her for making him drive so short a distance(it’s a short walk), even though that’s what he gets paid for AND she tipped him. Does he not want the job or something? Case 2: A few years ago, she ordered in Chinese and some sulky teenager took her order. I’m guessing this was the owner’s teenage daughter who didn’t want to spend her summer sweating in the back kitchen taking orders, but my grandma likes to practice her Chinese and ordered everything in Chinese – which should be pretty standard for a Chinese takeout place, right? My grandma switched to English a little, and the girl FLIPPEDOUT at her because if she could speak English this whole time, why did she make the girl have to work so hard by speaking Chinese? Never mind that the girl did just fine taking the order in Chinese and that she probably has had to do it many, many times with other customers. Case 3: I was just here today on a whim and ordered fried chicken wings(with fried rice, but not the peppery kind) and Hunan mixed vegetables. The menu isn’t that extensive, as I had a lot of trouble finding a vegetable dish that sounded good… But my real problem with the experience was that there was a REALLY sketchy/seedy guy who just sat there ogling my little sister and me in a not so discreet way! He waited a really long time before ordering two egg rolls and then proceeded to stare at my sister and me. It was really disturbing. Oh, and our chicken still had hairs on them(not human hairs, chicken hairs). Not that big a deal, but not terribly appetizing when you first see them. If you want Chinese takeout, I recommend walking a block north to School Street and ordering from Chin’s kitchen. They are SO much friendlier there, and I haven’t ever had any problems with the customer base.

I’ve been to this place many times. To simply put it… AWESOME. I can only speak for the meals that I have destroyed. Lo mien, chicken wings, fried rice, steamed dumplings, terriaki chicken, or the shrimp. Just about everything was good. They also sell burgers and subs, but if I wanted that I’d go to a burger joint. *yes, I know I’ve had their wings also, don’t judge me. The food is well prepared and the service is always on point. Which in my opinion is always a plus. It isn’t the healthiest meal in the food in the world, but is that what YOU’RE really looking for? Heck NO! I’ve got plenty of friends hooked on this place, try it out, and you’ll join them. This is ONLY a carryout, just in case you didn’t understand their name :)

I don’t know what these other people giving low ratings are talking about. I have been there multiple times for over a year now and ordered for the entire family. Everyone loves the food every time. My family and I have tried almost everything on the menu, but we usually get the Chicken Brocolli, Triple Delight, Hunan Beef, General Tso’s Chicken, some chicken wings, combination fried rice, some egg rolls. Big family that likes variety. haha. Personally, love the General Tso’s Chicken. I can eat it everyday. This place is the best in the area. I don’t live very close, but I am always willing to drive over myself to get the food or have them deliver. Delivery is usually fast except during their rush hour, which is when lots of other people are order food for delivery and carryout. That’s to be expected, so no complains there, just a heads up. If you don’t like your food greasy, they have a «Healthy Diet Menu» that has your order steamed w/no oil and it comes with the sauce on the side. so people should not be complaining about greasy food, it’s food from a carryout. cook at home then if there’s many complaints. For the people that say the place is dirty, this is not true. The place is brightly lit and is cleaner than many other Chinese places I have been to. It is NOT your dirty neighborhood sketchy Chinese place. It is decent and I recommended this place to all my co-workers and family. So far, no one said anything negative about the carryout to me yet. Totally Recommend! 10 out of 10!

OK I can only speak for my experience. The CHICKENWINGS are AMAZING I don’t know if they put garlic juice on them or what but they have this flavor that is so addictive that you can’t put the wing down once you start eating it and I do not like RICE but I decide I would try something new the rice was good a bit salty to my taste but it was good. I’ve order the egg foo young not impressed but I will well you the CHICKENWINGS are #1 I’ve got 2 of my friends HOOK on them and they are EXPERIENCEDCHICKENCONNISSOURS if you stick with the wings you will not be dissapointed.

wish there was a way to give this half a star. When I first moved to the area I was looking for a good Chinese restaurant… the kind that looks seedy and kinda dirty but has the best food and you brag to your friends how good the moo shu in your neighborhood is? Well, its not this place. The food here is awful to the point of needing a new word to identify its awfulness. I went a few times last year, giving it a few shots in case I was ordering weaker menu items. Its been about 8 months since I’d been and went the other night… I ordered, tragically the sweet and sour combination. Here’s how bad it was: The bag and the carryout container the fried food was in… I had to throw out as soon as I got home. And I had to drive with my windows open. Clearly their frying oil needs to be changed. but really, I’ve had a bunch of things here and everything is terrible.

Co-workers and family members have been ordering take out from this place for a long time. So, it’s safe to say, I’ve had everything on the menu time and time again. Thats hasn’t always been by choice either. They’re close, so I’ll usually give in. To be honest, it’s not all that great. I’m not sure how or why every dish comes out this way, but Easterns food is greasy. It’s actually overpowering how«washed out» the food is with a greasy film. Lacks spice and many of the dishes are bland. Dumplings are decent though. I wouldn’t recommend this place. Bamboo garden up the street is a tiny bit better. If you’re looking for something much, much better on the same block, go to Chin’s Kitchen.
