Came here for Sunday brunch. We called ahead for three and were seated within fifteen minutes of our arrival. They had a $ 4 Bloody Mary/mimosa special which we definitely took advantage of. My Bloody Mary was delicious! For brunch I ordered the Eggs Chesapeake which consisted of two poached eggs on top of crab cakes on English muffins with bearnaise sauce and potatoes on the side. It was so good! Very filling and I was definitely in a food coma afterwards. They also gave us these sweet muffins for the table which were tasty. The atmosphere was very welcoming and it is definitely a family friendly restaurant. I would definitely come back again!

We were looking for seafood, and ended up in Old Town Chadwicks. This place really needs to be renovated, and I think they are in the process of doing so. There was a sign asking people to excuse them while they renovate, although the only obvious signs of work being done was in the tiny, tiny bathroom. I hope they are going to totally rebuild the bathroom because you could barely move around in there. The service was not good. Our waiter was just blah. I got the impression that this place is a neighborhood dive. The food was just so so, and did not look very appetizing. One dish actually looked quite disgusting(Chicken Virginia), but my husband said it tasted ok. I had the Cashew crusted fish, and it was ok, just average. The best thing was the jasmine rice. Seasoned very nicely. The green beans were good, but they didn’t snip the sharp woody ends off. The chocolate mousse was very dense and not sweet at all. It was bitter. Won’t be returning.

Chadwicks is my favorite spot in Old Town. It is a little bit off King St so not as touristy as some restaurants. I have been going here since 1998 when my mom moved to the area. They are finally re-doing the bathrooms so the ambiance will finally match the food. If you cannot get one of the booths downstairs, I recommend asking to be seated upstairs if its open. Recommended items: Burgers, Salads, Fried Chicken, Crab Cakes, Chadwicks Amber Beer, and any of the brunch items. Not Recommended: the steaks which can be hit or miss.

This is a reliable place for a group on a Saturday. Nice selection of brunch and lunch items. The Chesapeake Benedict was overly creamy but still very good with excellent potatoes. The fried chicken was great and we highly recommend it It is not fine dining but none the less you’ll have a fine time and a good meal.

One of my favorite bar & grilles for a long time. I’ve been in and out of Chadwicks since the 80s, always finding a great meal and friendly service from the staff. Convinced my wife to try Chadwicks on a recent trip back to Old Town. A walk down the Strand is daunting, especially after dark. You’d definitely not expect to find a place like Chadwicks sitting there independently. Don’t let your logical voice get the best of you — walk down that dark street and belly up to the bar or grab a table for a meal. The décor and design hasn’t changed much since the 80s. Despite the need for a decorating makeover, your experience will still be everything you hoped for and more. We arrived during an extended(4−7pm) happy hour on a Monday night with a good crowd in tow. The bartender, a salty fella named Claude or Clyde, greeted us with a smile and a handshake asking our names. Who does this anymore? Super old school, super impressive especially as he continued to remember our names when asking if we were ready for refills. This goes with the territory at Chadwicks, a place that feels like the tv show Cheers. Spin dip for $ 10 during happy hour felt a bit overpriced, but this is NOVA and Old Town. Expect to pay a little more for everything. Will continue to patronize Chadwicks whenever I’m back in town. Definitely an institution in Old Town and is a must-visit option for anyone looking for food, drink, and a good time.

It was a nice day to sit outside and enjoy the waterfront. The service was good and efficient. The Chesapeake eggs were bland and boring.

Bruch is amazing here, had the French toast and a side of the potatoes, both excellent. The other people I was with also really liked what they got. The patio area where we sat is the enclosed alley way between the two buildings and it’s so cute and cozy in there. Will definitely return!

Visited for the happy hour specials. It did not disappoint! The drinks and food were great and for a great price! The location is fantastic too. Lots of parking options and close to Duke street. The perfect date night location. I’d recommend this place to all my friends and I’ll definitely be returning. The buffalo wings are phenomenal!

This is going to be our new Sunday Brunch place! Easy to find street parking(free on Sunday), off the King St/tourist path, no wait for a party of 3 at 10:30 on Sunday morning. We were seated and served quickly. The brunch menu was extensive, lots of choices that would have worked for us. We ordered the Huevos Rancheros and Breakfast tacos, and for our 3 yr old son chocolate chip pancakes and bacon from the kids menu. Everything was fantastic! Even my son, a picky eater, did great. Would highly recommend this to anyone and will be coming back with guests in the future!

Met up with some friends to grab food and drinks on a Saturday night. We sat at the bar. I liked the atmosphere here, it was very comfortable. Service was excellent, bartender was great and gave good recommendations on some of the beers I wasn’t familiar with. We ordered ribs and the buttermilk fried chicken. Both were delicious. The ribs fell off the bone and had great flavor. The chicken was fried perfectly and came with a side of Mac and cheese. Was my first time here and I look forward to coming back.

My wife and I waited 6 long months for our renovated kitchen. When we finally got to clean it, and fill it with our dishes, pots, and pans, we go out to dinner to celebrate! Ironic! Tonight was our 3rd time here. Each time, my non-fried food eating wife gets the crab cake platter, which normally comes with fries and coleslaw. Fortunately, she was able to swap the fries for mashed potatoes, and swapped the coleslaw for mixed vegetables(broccoli and cauliflower). I’ve had a couple of items here, including the butter fried chicken and the«black and blue.» The black and blue is a steak topped with crumbled bleu cheese, and comes with spinach and mashed potatoes. We’ve always loved our dinners here. Service was excellent tonight, but can’t say that on one other time we were here. It’s also too bad parking is an issue. Otherwise, we’d come back much more often.

Yummy ribs and french fries. Good happy hour specials. Tried the chicken quesadilla and some beers, tasty, tasty. A really nice ambiance and a great place for conversation and eats.

This isn’t a place that blew me away but it wasn’t bad either. If you are looking for something with pretty standard food to just satisfy your hunger then continue your visit/day in Old Town then this is a great place. I’ve only had their burgers which are usually pretty accurate and prepared correctly. Not at all a bad place but nothing I would write home about.

The food isn’t bad but it also isn’t great. I went for brunch with a friend of mine. We ordered quesadillas, I had the Salmon BLT and she had the veggie wrap. The quesailla was awesome!!! They were out of fried green tomatoes which sucked because the waiter came back like 5 times to tell us they had them, then they did not have them, then they had them again, so on and so forth. Very annoying. The bread for the Salmon BLT took away from the salmon and the chipotle mayo and all the things on the sandwich. I would swap it out for some other bread if possible. But either way it left much to be desired. Not sure if I would go again for the food but the location is awesome, the water is right there!!!

I have mixed emotions about my visit to Chadwick’s. The food was superb, but service was horrendous. Matt outside was awful. He told us, he would try n get our dog water when he brought ours – if he had room, if not we would have to wait. The guests next to us felt so bad for our dog, they have us their water. I asked for OBay n he forgot, my friend had to go inside to grab some. Same with our water refills and we were outside! Our food took over an hour to get n all we ordered was a salad, steamed shrimp, n a salmon BLT. He apologized profusely for his service n even have us a discount card of $ 5, but that was only after the crap service the entire 2HOURS of our visit, for lunch!!!

Love going here for brunch. It’s much less bougy than a lot of the other brunch spots in Old Town/DC — and consequently, much more reasonably priced. Service is hit or miss. The 4 stars are for the atmosphere, great food and price. They also serve delicious, warm muffins before every meal. My husband and I recently got married in Old Town and brought in a group of about 20 people for brunch the morning after. They were fairly accommodating. We did have to split up between two tables despite having a reservation, and our waitress basically yelled at us because someone was sitting at the very end of the table. She insisted everyone move over even though there was plenty of room for a chair at the end. Also, they wouldn’t let us split checks at all, which was inconvenient. They have a pretty good happy hour during the week, but it’s only in the bar area which fills up quickly.

We had a wonderful lunch here on a very cold day and it was delicious and cozy! I had the chicken pesto sandwich and my fiancé had the salmon BLT. Both items were amazing! I also had a side salad with a delicious balsamic vinaigrette. We loved the old rustic feel of the place and the location right on the water would be perfect for when its warmer. Beers are on the pricier side but the bloody mary was only 6 $ and it was really good. It didn’t have many garnishes, only came with a lime and celery, but was still a savory and spicy drink.

This place has a really yummy brunch menu. Everything on the menu is delicious! I tried the french toast and chicken sandwich. The french toast came with a cinnamon butter and it was thick chunks of bread with sweet maple syrup. My most favorite thing on the menu was the chicken sandwich. It had arugula and sun dried tomatoes that added the perfect flavor to the sandwich. I got a side of sweet potato fries. I wish it was crispier, but other than that, it was a tasty brunch. Oh and don’t forget to order mimosas! Perfect brunch:)

I really wanted to like this place but it fell short on so many levels. first I did love the décor. It’s very industrial nautical shabby chic. And their beer and wine selection seemed very large which I also liked. The food, however, left me so disappointed. Fried green tomatoes are supposed to be green. That is why that is the name. It was a regular tomato just battered and fried. False advertisement. The crispness of the green tomato was totally missing! I ordered the Scottish scramble. The smoked salmon had no flavor and my English muffins were toasted way too much. It was digging into the roof of my mouth. The only one that was decent was the Eggs Cheasapeake. But even that– my crab cake had shells. Le sigh. Also, our waiter was the most depressing person ever. he did not smile ONCE or do anything besides take our order and bring it out. He didnt even ask how the food was after we had started eating. and it took him almost 15 minutes to bring our check! Chadwick’s, you really disappointed me. Probably will NOT be back here again.
