Casa Rosada delivered some afternoon work treats to our office today and all of us were so excited– like kids! Each individual styrofoam cup was packed with two favors like a yin and yang. Everyone really loves taking a break and it was actually a lot better that having the traditional office party cake. Folks could take their cups back to their desks and chow down on their own time. I would definitely recommend to other offices! Consider them for a special occasion! Very easy clean up, no plates or crumbs!

Beat ice cream in old town… Had the dulce de leche and chocolate, excellent combination! I love this place.

I like this charming little house-shop tucked away on a side street off bustling King Street. I much prefer it to the sterile architecture of chain stores, including Dolcezza Gelati and Ben and Jerry’s. This is a mom and pop shop in an authentic«Old Town» row-house setting. I whole-heartedly recommend their gelato. I tried the Marron Glacé(chestnut flavored with anise seed) and combined it with Mocha for a small serving at approximately $ 4.50 The Argentinean proprietors allow you to sample flavors before buying, so take advantage. The private seating area in back is restful(and quite spare). It’s a quiet little nook for a gelato break.

Fresh, flavorful gelato with a variety of flavors. The lemon mousse, strachietella, and mint chip were all excellent.

Great product at great prices! I’ve only been here a few times, today being the most recent. Not too far off of King St, but away from the chaos to make it a nice hidden gem. I believe I’ve had the same person serve me each time, and her customer service is consistently awesome! I’ll try not to beat a dead horse — the five-star rating on Unilocal is enough to tell you that whatever they’re selling is pretty good. While it’s not technically gelato, today’s blueberry/blackberry sorbet was on point and was a must-have for the relatively warm weather. All gelato flavors I’ve ordered/tried in the past were very good as well. What impresses me most is probably the pricing — a small cup/cone comes out to a little bit less than $ 5.00 after tax, which is not bad at all compared to what else is around old town. I used to work at another store that served gelato/ice cream in old town, and there were times where I felt we were really ripping our customers off. Didn’t get that feeling here, and the portions are very generous! Hopefully the sun stays out this time, as I’ll be coming by here often. Keep up the good work!

We had the coconut and it was yummy. My husband polished it off rather quickly. They also serve some Argentinian treats like alfajores, which like most Argentinian desserts, was quite sweet. It was a fun experience, and I see why it’s such a popular spot.

This was my first time to Casa Rosada. I went around 1 on a week day so the place was empty. The man that waited on me was helpful and told me I could sample any flavor I wanted to. I went with the strawberry — my favorite flavor — and it was very yummy. You could tell it was natural strawberry not the fake color/flavoring. The inside of the shop was small so I imagine it could get pretty crowded at night and on weekends. I took my cup to go and ate it out front on some benches they had. I’ll be back for sure!

I am so happy I came across this cute place! Casa Rosada has some of the best quality gelato I have ever tasted! The staff is super friendly and encourages sampling of its creative flavors. I savored every spoonful of the Tango(3 Berries) and Apple Pie gelato that I finally chose…6 samples later(mm!!). The gelato was super creamy, a generous portion and DELICIOUS! I can’t wait to come back and try the other flavors ASAP!

The next sounds you will hear are me slurping on their gelato. This place is a precious little gem of a gelato shop near King Street OT. Other than the signs, the building is nondescript. Though small and very quiet, this place has been very clean during each visit and has a quaint outdoor area where you can hide and eat your gelato in peace. I’ve tried several flavors, looking forward to trying several others and liking their version of traditional Argentine and European gelatos. It’s indeed, artisan. Usually good flavor and texture and so creamy. Sambayon, Granizado, Crema Rusa(Russian Cream) and Malbec are very yummy! You definitely want to try their wine flavored sorbet/gelato. Quite unique and surprisingly refreshing. Oh, so grateful that they offer half and half servings! Also, there is a display of Argentinian chocolates and candies. The service is quite fine and very informative. I asked questions about the business and the story behind some of the flavors. The person behind the gelato bar is usually one of the owners and she is willing to give a small sample of the current flavors. The only negative is that they are usually closed(on sabbatical/vacation?) during the months of January and February. Me haz sad face during those months!

While my girlfriend prefers gelato to ice cream or yogurt, I wasn’t a «gelato person» before I met her but this place is where my gelato addiction started. Seriously, gelato is like frozen meth. So, we found ourselves in Old Town Alexandria(Virginia) and wandered into Casa Rosada. My gf had the Dulce de Leche and the Sambayon while I opted for the Kiwi /Strawberry sorbet. It was delicious but after tasting her Dulce de Leche gelato, I was a big fan. Didn’t really like the Sambayon — probably because it is wine-based and I don’t like the smell or taste of alcohol. I also found out that my dog really likes the Dulce de Leche as well, because we offered her the Sambayon and some of the sorbet and she turned her nose to them but licked the mini-spoon clean when we offered her the Dulce de Leche. We sat in the rear patio area and it was cozy — even had a dog bowl filled with water. The town is VERY dog-friendly. We asked the owner(a lovely Argentinian woman) the difference between gelato and ice cream and she told us that gelato has more milk and less fat. They make it from scratch right on the premises with all natural ingredients. My friend had a medium and I had a small and the bill came to abut $ 10 which I felt was a bit steep, but it tasted amazing.

Normally when I have gelato, I usually can only eat three bites, then I’m done. Not sure why, I guess I never had really good gelato. Not the case at this place. I got a small size and ordered half hazelnut and half Sambayón. Never heard of Sambayón before, but it was sooooooo tasty, it was like wine flavored gelato, it just blew my mind. The texture and the taste… and everything about it was perfect. I’m definitely coming back here and at least getting a medium size next time. The staff was really friendly and very helpful with trying out the flavors.

We stopped in for dessert after a fantastic dinner at a nearby restaurant. We were so very impressed with their offerings and the service. The gelato that they offered tasted AMAZING! They have unique flavors which are made fresh and tasted incredible! We enjoyed eating a couple of delightful gelatos there before driving back home. Awesome and we look forward to going back again, SOON!!!

I had been itching to have their gelato after reading the great Unilocal reviews. Having been to Italy and many gelato places around town I was so excited to try pistachio as so many places can ruin it. I’m happy to report that Casa Rosada has amazing– AMAZING– pistachio gelato. It is not that super fake green color and mushy pistachio nut pieces. Oh no, this is authentic pistachio flavor with delightful salty bits of pistachio. Creamy, perfectly sweet and great, REAL pistachio flavor. As much as I loved the pistachio, the second flavor I got with it– the stracciatella– left a lot to be desired. The vanilla flavor seemed off, a bit too almost fake saccharin-like sweet. And the chocolate bits were kind of filmy when it melted in my mouth(possibly a less expensive chocolate). My husband’s chocolate flavor was also a bit odd but he loved the raspberry sorbet. Finally, the gelato was best after we let it sit for a few minutes to warm up as right out of the fridge it was too hard– more like ice cream than a softer creamy gelato should be. They just reopened so perhaps it was growing pains of the first batch. They have limited seating inside but they have an adorable outdoor patio in the back. This place is easy to find right off King st and plenty of street parking around. Overall I loved the pistachio flavor and I will definitely be back to try more flavors!

Omg the gelato flavors here are so good! They are rich and creamy and they have some really interesting flavors. I loved their pistachio and fell in love with the piña colada. The piña colada was good because it was slightly tart. It helped balance the sweetness. I felt like the dulce de leche was way too sweet after a while, so I would recommend another flavor. Friendly service and they have a cute outdoor seating area with cute lights. Nice place for a late night date with friends or a date.

Casa Rosada is an adorable gelato shop in Old Town. It was a lovely night and we wandered into Old Town for a cool treat. Casa Rosada is in a pink house(hence the name) where the gelato is made in house. There are different sizes and the number of scoops per order can vary– depending on what you can pay of course. After sampling a few of the flavors, I decided on the mint chip and straccitella. I know these two flavors probably do not sound well together but I wanted each flavor so I bit the bullet and ordered both. I did not regret my decision because I was in for a sweet treat. The gelato is creamy, sweet, but not overpowering. They worked well for me but I’ll admit probably not the best mixing the two. There are some spaces inside to sit and a small patio in the back. Definitely a cute date night(or any night) spot for gelato in old town.

Came here yesterday for the first time and the gelato is on point! I had the Pb&J and my boyfriend had the piña colada gelato — both were absolutely delicious and refreshing. The portions are generous and the staff really friendly and welcoming. The location is tucked away on a side street with a cozy outdoor patio, as well as a few tables inside. Definitely worth a stop!

Nom nom nom gelato! This shop is a perfect way to end a day in old historic district of Alexandria, Virginia. It’s a small ice cream shop with a cute outdoor space to eat your gelato. They have loads of different flavors. A triple scoop was only $ 6! It’s a huge cup of gelato overfilling the rim. That’s such a good deal! I loved the piña colada with the hazelnut and pistachio. The flavors seem super random together. However, the piña colada was perfect with the sweet nutty flavors of hazelnut and pistachio. The fruity and refreshing flavor from the piña colada cut the sweetness from the hazelnut and pistachio flavors. Speaking of hazelnut, if you live Nutella, you will love the hazelnut flavor! In addition, both the hazelnut and pistachio have huge chunks of nuts in every other bite. With this, I can tell the use fresh and wholesome ingredients.

You can’t go wrong here!!! There is nothing more refreshing and delicious a treat then to end and meal worth freshly made Gelato. They have a large selection containing usual flavors like chocolate, mocha, or vanilla, but also specialty flavors from blends of wine… yummy. The perfect end to a perfect afternoon!!!

We are fortunate to have SO many ice cream & gelato places in Old Town. I have tried every one… except this one. Based on the Unilocal reviews, I went here for the first time last week. W-O-W.exceeded expectations. Gracious and kind staff, generous with the samples too. Heaping portion for a small and very reasonably priced, unlike Kilwin’s who charges close to $ 6 for a melon scoop size of ice cream(not really but you understand). So thrilled this is within walking distance of my casa. Fantastic flavors too. One had rum in it — that’s for me!

Very smooth, creamy and delicious Gelato! This tiny little place has some massive flavors, giving your taste buds a punch in the face. Their Coconut and Mocha flavors are to die for! The staff is awesome and friendly, they will give you samples to try as they have many unique flavors here. A little backyard in the back to chillax and enjoy your gelato. If 10 of me went in there together, place will be packed! With warm weather here now, I’m expecting this place to get crowded. So many different flavors to try and they have great coffee too! They keeping adding and removing flavors so keep going back to them to try new flavors. Don’t park in the parking lot next to them as your car might get towed, it belongs to a restaurant nearby. There is plenty of street parking available. This place is worth all 5 stars! This will be my go to gelato spot for the summer! Looking forward to try the other flavors!
