The poor review must be dated because I have been using Auburn for a couple of years since switching from a local rival and find them to be ahead of time, a good cost and most importantly, can be trusted with valuable garments. Gary(the owner I think) especially takes good care to ensure special requests and instructions are dealt with and is always courteous, helpful and personable, and a pleasure to interact with.

I don’t understand the other(however dated) reviews that this place got that were low. This place is so great, so fast, so efficient, so CHEAP, that I can’t imagine anyone complaining. The primary thing I like the most? I walk in and the people behind the counter know who I am without even having to ask for a phone number or anything… every quote for dates in which things would be done has been fufilled properly. In fact, they start putting my things on the railing WHILE I’m still parking so that I can go in, pay, and leave within 3 – 4 minutes. Amazing dy cleaners, and always good to support small businesses over large corporations(*cough* Crest *cough*)

Do not go to this cleaners. The staff there is so incredibly rude, they have absolutely no concept of customer service or how to treat people. I stopped in with my young daughter who walked over to the mirror and looked at herself. Before we could say anything, one of the employees said, «get out». I was incredulous. I asked her to repeat herself and she said, «get out». She didn’t speak much English, but was able to say that. Apparently they were upset my daughter was looking at the mirror and standing on the platform. The owner then ran over with a cloth and wiped the mirror down like we had slathered dirt all over it. But in fact, my daughter was just looking at her reflection and not doing anything else. The crazy thing is that I am a germaphobe, so I wouldn’t want her to touch it anyway. I was so shocked at this turn of events I couldn’t even think. After a few minutes I walked back in and spoke to the owner. I explained that you can’t treat potential customers like that, and there is a thing called customer service. Actually, you can’t just treat people like that. I also asked her if she was Korean, and she said yes. I am also Korean, and my parents are also Korean store owners, so I explained to her that in no way her attitude represents Koreans that I’ve ever known or dealt with and she really needs to treat people better if she wants business. This is not how you succeed in a business by treating people so poorly. I don’t think she got it. There are many cleaners out there with hard working staff, who treat people kindly. Take your business there.

Dry Cleaning: 5 stars Tailoring 3.5 stars I have been bringing my dry cleaning and tailoring to Kim, the owner of Auburn Cleaners, for over 2 years. She is friendly and helpful, and does a very good job with even tough stains and other dry cleaning problems. With tailoring, Kim can come across as a little bossy, as she has a good eye and knows what will and won’t work. All that aside, sometimes I have to be stubborn when i know I want a skirt hemmed a different length then she thinks is good. She does a good job — not great, but good — on tailoring. What makes me a loyal customer is the way she is always able to get last-minute, important orders filled even when I haven’t planned far enough ahead. Definitely my favorite neighborhood drycleaner!
