Acme Mid-Century+Modern

Acme is a small vintage store in Old Town that has a nice collection of vintage mid-​century items, in addition to a handful of George Nelson reproduction clocks. If you are a collector of mid-​century items, this place is very much worth a visit. and return visits.

Many excellent pieces of mid-​century furniture and other objects, excellent location and, most importantly, wonderful customer service. I could spend an hour in there (and did!) browsing through the many interesting and rare objects. The owner is a font of information on everything and was very helpful with questions I had. Looking forward to my next visit. I highly recommend this store.

Just stopped in today. Apparently the store has only been open for 4 months and is still growing. They had several beautiful mid-​century modern furniture pieces, some nice knick knacks and decorative elements. Prices seemed reasonable (not cheap, but all of the good quality MCM pieces are going to be pricey).
As an aside, the Alexandria kids were out trick or treating, the owner happily welcomed all the little goblins in for treats. Definitely not a «please touch» store, but great to know that this isn’t one of those super uptight places either.
I saw a wine rack I SO wanted to buy, but had to keep myself on point. I came here looking for a dresser. The store is somewhat small and unfortunately there wasn’t one in stock. The very kind owner told me that he keeps a customer wish-​list and took my info, he sends emails with pictures when something on your wish list comes in. They can also deliver.
Overall: A small store with a well curated collection and friendly, personable service. I will definitely be back.
