First and last time being there. Asked for a 3 plate which you’d assume it be at least in some sort of a plated container because I ordered to go, which was pulled brisket, chicken breast(which by the way it was maybe a 5th of a full breast sliced! they slice it way down so it almost looks like taco meat to fit into one corn tortilla taco, and sausage which was only 3 mini slices. They service is horrible with themselves unorganized and to top it off they overcharged us at least a buck for what’s the advertised price. But seeing the kind of workers they have there it wasn’t worth arguing with. Avoid it and go to Rudys or golden pride and spend less for more food.

Had a nice late Sunday lunch with a family of five. The staff did a good job helping us select our meal(a family pack) and pointing out the sides. Kids loved the free ice cream too. The restaurant was clean and smelled delicious. We will definitely be back.

This place is small and being it my first time, you’d think after announcing it to be your first time the staff would assist you with how to order or even where to find basic things like the menu items… silverware or salt and pepper shakers but instead look at you crazy like you’re taking up their valuable time doing absolutely nothing. I personally am quite offended when I am rushed to order the very second I walk up to the counter not given a chance to even take in the atmosphere or glance at the selection presented. Not a great experience

How does one start a review on a BBQ restaurant that I’m only giving one star to? BBQ restaurants in my opinion should not be given one star with the work it entails to bbq meats but I can see how it can happen. Let’s start off with walking into a food establishment in which you’ve never been to before. The gentleman at the order counter asks how can I help you? I say it’ll be a moment I’ve never been here before. Well the way I see it that point the first impression begins you can take a moment to help that patron who has never been in before and make it a extraordinary experience or you can you can go back to what you’re doing and totally ignore them. He chose the latter. As I’m browsing the menu I asked a question… YESPEEPS real question. Pardon me Sir I see the list of meats on the list. Seeing as this is a bbq establishment I don’t see ribs but I do see a rib plate. If I order a 2-meat plate are ribs not an option of meat? His reply: not normally if you do its Usually only one rib. Hmmmm, scratching my head. Downer #1. Ok I’ll go ahead with the 2-meat plate with brisket & spicy cheddar sausage. I was expecting him to turn around pull put big huge juicy cuts of meat ready to be sliced through with juices dropping off the knife. However to my surprise that was far from my scenario. Instead what I saw was meat being pulled out if a warmer wrapped in plastic wrap.(Insert photo had I taken one. me the photo freak… was not photo ready!) Not just one meat but all the meats in the warmer. Ummmmm… this is a bbq joint why are bbq’d meats wrapped in plastic wrap? Downer #2. Should I even continue at this point… do I dare go to Downer #3? Well if I’m any kinda food critic I must forge ahead. Let’s go with one if my side choices. Baked Potato Casserole(Insert pic from my tip question) They threw cheese on the top. Two things about this cheese. 1. It didn’t melt at all. Fake cheese lovely. 2. The temp on this was luke warm at best. #1 reason For food-borne illness is incorrect holding Temps. When serving food I believe serving temps for hot foods should be 165°. This side dish was no where close to that. I won’t continue on about the lack of genuine customer service or the ice milk they pass for free ice cream. I’ll let ya’all try it and I’ll look forward to reading other reviews.

WAY over priced, extremely small portions. The staff was ok friendly. The restaurant and tables were very small and it was hard to find a seat for a group of 5

Somewhere between two and 3 stars but since I won’t return I have two. Came here to try something new and because they had more side options than whole hog like French fries. We tried the brisket, pulled pork, potatoe salad, cole slaw, Caesar salad, and Mac and cheese. Pulled pork was fine nothing special smoke flavor but meh. The brisket was good just more than 50% fat so it was a waste. Cole slaw wasn’t good, potato salad was dill based and just ok, Mac and cheese was more like Kraft than what I would expect at a bbq place– it was like mushy Kraft. And over 30 bucks for two of us– they offer 3 bbq sauces none of which I would recommend. But you do get free ice cream– that’s gross as well.

We tried this last weekend. Definitely not my style of Texas BBQ. The brisket took awhile to be delivered and was barely warm when it arrived. Having to wait also made my sides cold as well. I think I need to stick my usual favorite spot here in ABQ. Don’t recommend this place. The 2 stars are for their BBQ sauce.

I had the Pork Rib Plate For $ 14.75, With 2 Sides. The Ribs were dry and tasted like they were leftovers from a refrigerator. The sides were ok. The potato casserole was mashed potatoes with shredded cheese on top. My first visit, I was happy. My 2nd visit will be my last visit. I had to change my 5 star review to a 1 star. I will continue to go to Whole Hog for my BBQ fix.

Went to Dickies for their grand opening several months ago and was just not impressed at all. The old dickies restaurant that was here a few years ago was much better and a higher quality. I decided to give them another chance and went in today for lunch. The quality of the food was horrible and way overpriced. I don’t mind paying for good quality BBQ but this was quite pathetic. The ribs were rock hard and over cooked and the food was not hot. I also noticed that they pulled the meet out of a piece of plastic which tells me that the meat is processed and not fresh. Really disappointed at the shortcuts that were taken. Where is the pride? I will never be back! I will probably go to the Cube from now on. They do BBQ right!

Where to start I guess I’ll start with the service. I called in my order and told them I would be there 5 – 10 minutes, I got there 10 minutes later and they hadn’t even started on my order. That being said the employees where very nice and had smiles on the whole time. There was no above and beyond type customer service here but it wasn’t bad either, just kinda average. Now the food, I LOVEBBQ by far my favorite type of food so i had big expectations when i walked in. I tried the three meat meal, I chose chicken which they were out of so i asked for ribs, They don’t come with the three meat plate. I ended up with turkey, pulled pork, and brisket the sides I chose were fries and BBQ beans. Well I got my order to go when I got home there was no BBQ beans in the bag so cant tell you how those were. The turkey was lacking flavor and was almost cold, so wasn’t very appetizing, The pulled pork and brisket were both OK, some pieces were really dry others really moist, so not to sure if it was a new batch mixed with old or what but it was just OK. The spicy BBQ on the other hand was REALLY good, so that was a huge plus! All in all I probably wouldn’t want to go back, if I want BBQ it looks like Rudy’s is still my first choice. The only time I would probably go back is if it was next door and I was REALLY hungry. Not awful but nothing I care to try again!

Very good! The service was good too. I had brisket and it was ultimately tender and delicious. The sides were perfect and fresh — the okra tasted like okra for a change… not heavy oily breading like other places. Husband had some ribs and they did not disappoint! We will come back for sure!

Quick run down of my experience here: Ordered Turkey and Brisket plate with potato salad and bbq beans. Brisket was all out, so I got the polish sausage instead. Turkey: Pretty good flavor and very moist. Definitely would order again Sausage: Honestly, it tasted about like the Polish sausage hot dog from Costco. Not terribly good and lacked seasoning. BBQ Beans: Tasted a little better than canned beans Potato Salad: Couldn’t finish it. There was way too much mayo or something in it. The dill flavor might have been good had it not been so over powered. I make a habit of giving places another chance if I had a bad go the first time. Hopefully, they’ll have brisket the next time I’m there.

Man, was I stoked to see Dickey’s in the 505 again. If you remember the old location down where Chile Rio most recently was, forget everything you remember. This is not the same. It’s set up more like Rudy’s now, where you order and then get your food and go sit down vs. a waiter taking your order and bringing it to you. They still have basically the same menu, but portions are smaller than I recall and the bread is definitely not the same. The meat was all run of the mill BBQ, nothing to write home about. I was not a fan of the potato salad, it was entirely too dill flavored for me. The baked beans were decent, but could have been better. For the pricepoint, there are other options with better quality and portion size. This new Dickey’s is just not the same.

Wasn’t impressed. Seemed like everything was prepared days ago. Ordered the three meat plate with two sides, and half rack of ribs. I ordered pulled pork, chicken, and brisket. Chicken was pulled from fridge and was wrapped in plastic and chopped in front of me, as well as the pulled pork and brisket. They were all served cold. Ribs were mediocre they tasted like they had been reheated in a microwave. Didn’t taste fresh. Potatoe salad was bland. The Mac and cheese was the only good thing. Their barbecue sauces were good as well. Don’t think I’ll be returning. I was disappointed.

Went here for the first time a few weeks ago; the BBQ was very good and it was a quite enjoyable experience. We had a few 2 meat dishes in order to sample the different meats we liked(ham, sausage, brisket, and pulled pork) and sides(fried, mac and cheese, fried okra, and beans). Pretty much everything was good, with the sausage, brisket and okra standing out. BBQ is a matter of taste, so eventually there will likely be naysayers who like a different style; but being a Texan myself I really enjoyed having a strong Texas franchise in ABQ.
