Let me preface this by saying this review only applies to the Blake’s Lotaburger in the Student Union Building at UNM. I haven’t had any bad experiences at any other Blake’s in town. Also, the food was delicious but one manager’s arrogance ruined it for me. I sent this to Blake’s corporate office, to which I never received a reply: This morning 9⁄18 around 9:00AM. I ordered #1 smothered Christmas, I was order number 6. I stood there and waited next to forever as they had already called out number 20 by the time I walked up to the counter to see where my order was. My order was clearly no longer on the order screen so I don’t know if someone prematurely deleted it or what happened. I told the manager what happened and she went into the kitchen to make my burrito herself. The manager wasn’t apologetic at all and started making excuses. Her first excuse was that they had to make more hash browns. This would be a good excuse if 14 other burritos hadn’t already gone out in front of mine. When I mentioned how many burritos had gone out before mine she then changed her excuse to «well, you ordered chile-over so that takes longer». I agree it probably takes longer, but probably only 30 seconds to a minute longer at the most. If my order hadn’t actually been lost, why did the manager step up to make my burrito? Why didn’t she just own up to the fact that my order was clearly lost? If she had, I wouldn’t have felt compelled to write this. In all fairness I must say that my burrito was delicious so maybe that manager needs to be on the line and not in customer service. I am UNM staff so I’m on campus 45 hours per week which provides lots of opportunities to dine at Blake’s. However I will be boycotting this location now. That’s not something I want to do because the food is delicious but I have strong principles when it comes to customer service and won’t tolerate managers who make excuses.
