I love to go in from time to time to see what I can find. There are some good prices on some basics such as cleaning supplies. Some of the canned food items are also nicely priced. One item that you can find good prices on is the furniture.

Though I don’t generally frequent this place, I always find something I need at Big Lots.

I feel greedy taking up all the goodness for myself, so I will once again strongly recommend that you go to Big Lots and see what you find. I know the place has a generally ghetto exterior and vibe, but it is oh-so-worth it! My cousin and I went together today, and each spent around 80 bones. Yes, that’s a lot of money, but when we shop here, we STOCKUP, like those crazy bitches on the Extreme Couponing show on TLC, except we’re not crazy, nor are we bitches, nor do we have to spend seven hours a day clipping coupons and strategizing our hoard of toothbrushes and Vitamin Water and barbecue sauce. I try to avoid Wal-Mart, and I have found that Big Lots helps me fill that gap by providing lots of common necessities such as toothpaste, shampoo, body scrubs, razors, deodorant, etc. at a seriously discounted price. And you can find really good, high-end shit here! Plus they always sell the Epielle facial wipes for 2 bucks a sixty-pack, with scents of green tea or cucumber. I honestly cannot distinguish between these and a more high-end brand, such as Neutrogena, for removing eye make-up, or for cleansing your entire face when you are feeling too lazy to do anything else. At half the price! My cousin discovered Kashi Oatmeal and Dark Chocolate cookies for 2 bucks. She loves these cookies and usually pays $ 4.00 a bag, so she just went ahead and bought the rest of what they had on the aisle. Smart girl! I generally find lots of good deals on the rawhide chews for dogs, and random shit in the food aisle. Big Lots deals in close-out or overstock merchandise, so I recommend you stock up whenever you find something appealing. Their food aisles may at first appear off-putting, but I have found Nielsen-Massey vanilla at ridiculously low prices, as well as Bosco chocolate syrup(Seinfeld anyone?). Seriously, they have so much random international food and just random shit in general, I recommend setting aside a good hour at least to peruse their aisles. They always have cheap lip balm, and the thing I was most stoked about today were these adorable mini vats of Palmer’s cocoa butter, just right for your purse. You need to go often if you want to discover the true gems of discount shopping; your diligence will pay off in the long run.
