If you need a great example of why to support local businesses, Vision World is the perfect example.
Whether you have insurance or not they work with you on prices and exploit every possible discount they can offer. They check their work on the spot multiple times. The owner is accessible and keeps tabs on what’s happening at the counter. He’s frequently the person who is. He’s not afraid to take glasses from you and bring them to the back and adjust them for you — no cost. He just wants them to fit properly.
They have a lot of young help but don’t let that discourage you. They’re supervised and trained properly. I’ve yet to leave there without being impressed. My wife and I both have purchased multiple pairs of glasses there in recent years. I recommend them to anyone who mentions glasses or eye care.

I have been going to Vision World for years and want to commend the owner Bruce and staff especially Sharon for their friendly, professional and excellent service. I have eye exams. Get my glasses and contacts here too. I always love my glasses and the staff is so attentive and makes choosing glasses a fun experience.

I was so pleasantly surprised! Bruce was so welcoming. Sharon is amazing.
She is honest and she really knows her stuff. She helped me choose a great frame. I can’t wait to get my new glasses

Always happy to have an honest local business in our neighborhood, really professionals, Bruce is as good as they come, really happy with my new pair of glasses. I thought buying from wholesale club will save me money, ends up costing me more!

I decided to go to Vision World in Albertson because they participated in my insurance plan– I am so glad that I did! Everyone was very helpful and friendly. The doctor was patient and professional and not just one, but two associates took the time (at least 20 minutes’ worth!) to help me choose my new frames.
Excellent experience. Excellent service. I think I’ve finally found my optometrist!

Great service. Very patient while I spent too much of their time trying out every set of frames in the store. Quick to take me in for an eye exam (postponed their lunch break to do it). I was very pleased. 10⁄10 would come back again.

Very easy to find, parking lot right behind store. Huge selection of frames– would have been there for hours if not for the patient and very knowledgeable Sharon, who is professional yet friendly and honest, honing down the very daunting array of choices to the perfect pair. The exam was complete and thorough, and the insurance was handled very well. Recommend highly, will be bringing whole family in the future.

Paid more than I have ever paid for glasses — and they get condescending when you question price. They are a provider under my Optical plan, yet my out of pocket was more than when I didn’t even have Optical insurance. Unless I went when they were severely low on inventory, they do not carry all of the designers listed on their website. Overcharged for both the exam and the glasses themselves. There are many other Opticals in the neighborhood, so shop around — I certainly will next time. This place has their own lab, so turn around time is super fast, but unless you need your glasses in a hurry, you are literally throwing money away if you buy them here.
