I really like Gap Kids clothing. It makes up the bulk of my son’s wardrobe, and I’m picky about what I put him in. However the store selection vs the online selection is very different. Decent selection of newborn and baby items, and good amount of things for the big kid and tween set. Then there’s the sad, little back corner selection for toddlers. I’ll stick to shopping online and the inconvenience of not being able to size things in person. Thankfully tailors or returns are an option.

I don’t shop at Gap. Never have, never thought I would, but it turned out that my son, who is on the small side, finds that clothes from Gap fit him better than from most other places. Maybe it was that the mall was mostly quiet. No mobs, no rude people in a rush, no screaming children. Maybe it was that I caught a truly excellent sale and was able to buy a lot of quality clothes for very little money. Whatever it was, it was a very pleasant experience. The staff were available, but not in-your-face. The dressing rooms were clean and available. Everything was set up in a way that made sense and the flow worked really well. If you had told me 20 years ago that I would spend money at the Gap, my 16 year old self would have scoffed, but the reality is that we shop where we can get clothes that fit us well and don’t cost a fortune. As it turns out, 20 years later, I don’t mind.
