There are two wine/liquor stores where you are guaranteed to get a great deal in Albany. Empire, and BJ’s. The selection at BJ’s is limited and changes frequently, but they have the lowest prices I have ever seen on the wines they carry. Always matching Empire, and in many cases a bit lower. If you don’t have something specific in mind, head to BJ’s and feel good knowing you paid the absolute lowest price possible. And if they don’t have something that strikes your fancy, just make the 90 second drive over to Empire. Also, as noted by other reviewers, no membership is required.

Checking out is always frustrating since random people start lines where ever they want, If you have the room for bulk, and being a formers Sam’s member prices are pretty similar you can come here to. love instant rebates and they are in the process of remodeling. Some people that work here suck, act like they hate their job, but others are so polite and helpful. Wine and liquor is great, since you don’t need a membership. They keep high traffic liquor on the shelf so if your looking for something specific, go to the liquor warehouse near target. Wine is also the most popular wines some you might have not heard of.

First, know this: You do not need to be a member of BJ’s to buy wine and booze from the BJ’s Wine & Liquor store. Now, hear this: Since leaving Trader Joe’s country, I have been missing a place to buy inexpensive(read under $ 10) bottles of reliably good wine. The search has been long. Sure there are a few inexpensive bottles floating around the area wine stores. But here I found the Dancing Bull Zin and the Coppola Rosso both for under $ 8. Both are great food friendly reds, and a great deal at that price. They also had Roederer Estate, my favorite domestic sparkling wine for under $ 18 which is the cheapest I have seen it in a long long time. You have to know what you are doing, or be adventurous. But there are great deals aplenty within their modest selection, at all price points. The modest selection is what dings them down a star. This is not the place you go, if you are looking for something specific. There are plenty of popular items that they are lacking. Still(and I can’t believe I am saying this about something that is attached to BJ’s) this is my store of choice in the area for everyday wines.
