Delicious beers! Vintage lists, house lists, guest lists, whiskeys. Great appetizers and small plates. The entrée list is short, but tasty. And, let’s be realistic, you’re here for the beer!

Beers were delicious, food was really good(scallops fantastic, tamales a bit dry, Cuban great, and ribeye perfect) and the service was impeccable. The server brought sample after sample of beer for us to taste before we made our selections. They’ve gone to great lengths to make sure live music isn’t too loud to enjoy dinner and drinks. Great brewery!!!

Excellent food. Excellent brews. Highly recommend. Pork anchors are tasty. BORIS The crusher imperial stout is probably the best I’ve had, ever! I had an excellent service — Allysa thanks for being so friendly!

Amazing selection of beer of course! However they do have wine and spirits for those not into beer. Our server was knowledge and was able to find me a beer I liked, even though I do not normally drink beer. We had the pumpkin hummus, which took a minute to get use to… it was definitely different, more sweet than savory. We also had the cops and dip, which we really enjoyed. They had a band, which for my taste was way too loud, couldn’t really have a conversation. but the band was good.

Food just okay. Service slow. Ridiculous beer prices. Cheapest pint was $ 6.99. Why so expensive? Beer brewed right there! Went over to Thirsty Dog and paid $ 4 for a pint of Barktoberfest!

Beer was decent but pricey. Food was below average but very pricey for what you get. Service was friendly. Ambience was sort of bowling alley meets fern bar. I’ve been to hundreds of brewpub tasting rooms around the world, this one was not memorable.

As everyone will agree, they have excellent beers!!! With a couple of brews we had the Charcuterie Board — meat & cheese. It was excellent but a little pricey at $ 17, but I’d have it again. On to the entrée, we had the Karminator Kubans and it was a disappointment– give it a 2 star at best. Needed more grilling time and it felt like it was made out of prepackaged ingredients. Fresh thin sliced ham and cheese and more time on the grill would have made it. If it weren’t for the Kubans this is a 5 star good time with excellent brews.

Awesome beer! Good little eats too! Love the atmosphere and the staff really knows their stuff! I didn’t like the beer milkshakes though, it’s definitely an acquired taste but it’s a great place to try!

We were in Akron and decided to stop by. Their beer is very good. We almost didn’t stop because they are located in an industrial park with gravel parking lot and we thought it was just the brewery. We poked our head in the door and were surprised to find a cool bar/restaurant. The food was ok but did I mention that their beer is awesome

First time that I have been charged to try a sample of beer. I get a taster but a sample and I live in Beer City USA. Come on man Food looked good from what I could see but I was not staying there any longer.

Good beers, meat/cheese app. Is really good. Chicken taco was okay. Quinoa was weird and not good. Great music selections(lots of Zepplin) service wasn’t great. Girl would walk away quickly before you could actually put in a food order with drinks.

So pleased we drove out of our way via an excursion to Cleveland. Case of Double Pumpkin and more are in the trunk home. Our bartender Scott was great 3pm regulars were nice and chill. By the way, those 9 steamed dumplings tasted great! Will come back again and again to buy direct. Great brewpub!

Atmosphere is great — kind of out of the way and in an area you wouldn’t expect this place. Beer menu was very extensive. Tons of beer on draft — their brew and others. Bottled beer had a great selection as well. Got a panko breaded prime rib sandwich with quinoa, a flight of beer, and a lemon poundcake beer milkshake. All were amazing,

Great beer, but you really shouldn’t come here with more than 4 people in your party. The owner is SUPER weird about moving tables, and big groups. Otherwise it’s pretty good.

This place is Smashtastic… Why? The beers are so strong you are pretty much going to be schmashed when you are done. Bring a DD for the ride home. The place is small, kinda reminds me of Brew Kettle in Strongsville before they expanded and got super popular. If you want a good experience you should prob go in a group less than 5. My group of 6 had to wait about 45 minutes or so… The beers are outstanding(although too many IPA’s for my liking) and I would like to see some weaker ones for the light weights.(I now see a Frog Wheat at 6% ABV– I would have gotten this if they had during my visit!) I tried the medal winning BORIS Oatmeal Crusher, love it… Shandy Citrus Ale, good, Café Boris was a great dessert beer, Gangster IPA, the first IPA I didn’t want to spew out– so it must have been good ;) Tried a bunch more, but these were all I remember… The food was surprisingly not bar food and very good. We liked the gnocchi, the risotto with chorizo, and the cuban sandwich! I wish this brewery was closer so we could go every weekend! Another hint– the place is almost at the end of the freeway, you need to turn into it before the freeway ends so slow down, EVERYONE in my group drove past and had to turn around. They need a larger sign!

This review is for the beer/brewery alone, as the tasting room is a separate entity. The beer is outstanding. They often experiment and have amazing barrel aged beers. They have not been around long, and they already have a significant cult following. If you are at a bar or store and you see hoppin’ frog, try it. Start with the standard BORIS the Crusher if you want a stout, or maybe Goose Juice if you are in the mood for a IPA. The only draw back is they only have 22oz beers, basically sold separately and they are a bit pricey. But I promise they are worth it.

Hoppin’ Frog is one of the best things about Akron, nice atmosphere, friendly hard working staff, and a wide selection of beers for every taste. They are consistently ranked in the top 25 breweries in the world, and for good reason! But as breweries go, they are topsy turvy. Most breweries have very salty, casual, bland, sub-par food, and amazing beer. The menu was SHOCKINGLY gourmet and delicious, on par with most any restaurant and easily best in class for any brewery I’ve been too. They also offer 5 oz pours of all their beers on tap, so you can try a wide variety of beers, a serving style that I love! They had about 2 dozen beers on tap, and I tried a sampler of 5 ranging from light to dark that looked good and were recommended by the staff. I have sampled many a craft brew in my day, and while none of the beers were terrible by any measure, I found them all pretty unimpressive, and nothing I would order again. The place was packed with drinkers, so Hoppin’ Frog certainly has their share of fans. Personally, I’d rather be the designated driver, indulge in the delicious food, and satisfy my thirst with the brew of another. I’d still be glad to go back, but it would be the food, not the drinks at this brewery that beckoned.

You gotta get over to Hoppin’ Frog, like, yesterday! They have a tasting room now where you can sit in air-conditioned comfort and enjoy over a dozen of their amazing, delicious beers. What are you waiting for?!? Get over there! I know, I know, they’re not exactly conveniently located — a little warehouse off the highway outside Akron, OH, of all places. I’m telling you it’s worth the drive. You can get so many of their brews on draft and buy even more in 22 oz bottles to go. They also keep about 8 other craft beers on tap, too. You really can’t go wrong. The food is good, too. I had the tacos with quinoa salad on the side and they were excellent. Just $ 9, too! That’s one thing worth noting — the beers are not cheap. At all. A pint of their Whiskey Barrel-Aged«Boris» Stout is $ 12! Whoa mama — $ 12??? Get a bottle to go instead — 22 oz for $ 16. Well worth it, because that beer is incredible. One of the very best I’ve ever had. I will be going back every single time I return to northern Ohio.

This place is kind of awesome. Husband knows all the good beer places, and while we were driving West, we decided to stop here. They don’t serve beer, but they do sell it from a cooler. They also label and package it while you’re standing right there. Someone developed a faster way to label and I was quite impressed(having a background in product design and all…). I also had fun talking to the workers, I found some weird looking spider and an employee saved it by putting it outside. It was a special moment. One of the beers was described to Husband as a «panty-dropper.» So clearly he bought some.
