Hands down worst service I’ve ever had in a bar in my young adult life. Bartender with dark hair and her chest hanging out would only pay attention to you if you were a male. Only saw her twice in the hour we were there. Ruined a friends birthday. Bummer :(

Nice addition to Highland Square; clean, comfortable décor — not a huge place but big enough. I’ve never been here late at night or on a weekend, so it may be far more crowded at those times. I’ve stopped in a few times just after work and there have just been (maybe) a dozen neighborhood regulars here, maybe a young couple or two, with the jukebox on and watching some sports on TV.
Excellent selection of draft beers for a bar of this size; service was generally friendly and prompt. I’d like to stop in here later some Friday or Saturday night to see what it’s like; my guess is it skews toward a little older crowd, but I could be wrong. I’m a little older myself, so there’s nothing wrong with that.

Worst bar in Highland Square. Two female bartenders were rude and it was extremely hard to get their attention to receive a drink. Bought a round of drinks, they tasted fine. Ordered another round and they tasted like water. As soon as she handed me the drinks I tasted them and they all had no flavor. As if their soda machine was out of syrup. Told the bartender this and she tells me that that is impossible. Completely ridiculous. She said exchanges were not allowed, even though she just made me the drinks & set them down in front of me and watched me taste them and tell her that something was wrong. Can’t believe I wasted $ 50 on those nasty drinks. Will never return here again.

3,5 Stars, Decent bar, but nothing special. It’s the newest bar in the Highland Square so therefore it is the cleanest. Good selection of beers on tap and a good amount of flat screen TVs. Some of the main cons are that the place is small in general. There aren’t that many tables or standing space. It is also quite loud. It’s a nice bar, but again nothing makes me want to come back.

Highland Square’s newest bar comes off as a Barley House knockoff on the outside, but a walk inside reveals a lot.
First off, this is a «normie» bar in Akron’s hipster district that looks like a douche-​y frat boy bar. The beer selection gives that «you’ve never heard of it, but it’s sooooooo good» vibe that hipsters seem to adore. They have a bunch of local beers here. They are one of the few bars to carry Hoppin Frog, OBC, and Thirsty Dog beers that I could find.
Just for clarification, Annabell’s is the punk/​metal/​scene bar, the Matinée is the hipster bar, Ray’s Pub is the sports bar, and the Highland Tavern is the neighborhood tavern.
I felt like service was fairly slow here. I was wondering why there were only 2 people working on a busy Saturday night. Beer can get fairly pricey, but prices still remain reasonable.
If they improved their service, this would be my favorite bar in the Square.
