I went and saw Wynton Marsalis in the 1990s and had a fabulous time with one of my best friends Cleveland Woodson and it was amazing time!!! I look forward to coming back for another jazz concert.

I visited E.J. Thomas Hall over the holidays on a trip to Cleveland to see Tuba Christmas. Even though there were tons and tons of people, we were still able to six seats together in the center up pretty high. We could hear every really clearly and see the entire stage. It’s an older auditorium, but we had a pleasant experience there. If you get a chance to check out Tuba Christmas, you definitely should. It was a really unique experience.

Went to the Alton Brown show last night. As a food show host and author, I wasn’t really sure what to expect and he brought a trio to play some very funny songs, lot’s of devices to perform food experiments and it was an excellent evening. What also made it fun was the E.J. Thomas Hall. Configured to hold 3,000 the night we went, I have been to see Joe Augustine in a Stage Door concert, where the venue was configured for less than 200. Parking is very easy and there are plentiful restaurants nearby as well. Acoustics are excellent thanks to the metal ceiling panels that are adjustable via a very clever(and visible) pulley and counterweight system to match the seating layout. Check out their upcoming shows and make a date for Akron!

I saw Madame Butterfly here years ago and the place just keeps getting better! Always clean and neat and the staff is super friendly. Located in the heart of downtown Akron and at the University of Akron.
