I can’t say enough about State Termite. They are an amazing company with extremely knowledgeable staff. Alvin is a genuine and honest person, that never tries to sell a service or product that is not necessary. He is quick to respond to questions, and is so patient and understanding! I would recommend this company to everyone!

Alvin Fukuyama was recommended to do a termite inspection, and since I know nothing about pest control and did not have a lot of time to research every company on the island I scheduled the inspection with State Termite.
Melody (who I think must be the office manager) was extremely patient with me as I explained some unusual circumstances. She was courteous, helpful, polite, and very professional. She also responded very promptly to my initial inquiry which was via email.
On the day of the termite inspection, Alvin arrived punctually and introduced himself. After giving a cute State Termite-​logoed tool that was a bottle opener and tape measure, he began to talk about basic termite information which I found to be very helpful. I was impressed by his knowledge, professionalism, and efficiency.
There were no termites, thankfully, but we did get to see two dead giant cockroaches and one more crawling around. Therefore, I arranged a bug-​spraying through state termite. Again, Melody was pleasant and professional, and accommodated my request for a weekend ASAP. On the day of the spraying, the tech called me to let me know when he was nearby and to ask about parking so there was no delay with the appointment. The tech worked efficiently and answered all of my questions. And since I have found numerous dead giant roaches but have seen no live ones, I feel it was effective.
I am so glad State Termite was recommended, and I plan to use them if I ever have any pest problems in the future!

THE WORST!!! Trying to schedule an appointment for a termite inspection on a home my parents just purchased in «as is» condition. They want to do renovation anyway and wanted the sale to go smoothly that they decided to do all of the inspections on their own. When I tried to schedule I was told that I needed various documents from escrow and the previous owners information. I told them that the sale had already closed and it has been paid in full with no mortgage. The lady on the phone (I think her name started with an M?) didn’t seem to want to hear it. Basically argued with me that they needed all of this old information to do a termite inspection that my parents were paying for on a home they already owned. Now I can’t speak for their actual service as we decided to go with another company. But their customer service needs some real work. They have a «better than you» attitude and if you don’t do it the way they want it (regardless if they are wrong) then they will definitely give you the run around.

Absolutely the best pest control company in the state of Hawaii. State Termite was the 4TH company I interviewed. Alvin Fukuyama, the owner, came out to do the assessment. He is knowledgeable, thorough, and professional. I think many people jump to the conclusion that they must tent their homes, and this is often unnecessary. Alvin did not find that our home needed tenting. Being a current member of the Hawaii Pest Control Association’s Board of Directors, a current member of the State Pest Control Board, a former president of the Hawaii Pest Control Association and a former State Pesticide Advisory Committee Member, Alvin’s expertise is unbeatable. Everyone, from the friendly and helpful ladies who answer the trouble calls, to our service man, Aaron, is superior in customer service. I highly recommend State Termite & Pest Control. Your home is well worth using them.

When the president of the company comes out on a hot saturday afternoon in Waianae, you know that he cares about his business and mainly his clients. He’s Totally awesome STATE TERMITE & PEST CONTROL: D

These guys have been in business a long, long time, so I’m not sure how I can be the first to review, but… ok.
PROs:
+Knowledgeable & a lot of common sense: Used them for our house inspection, and also called them when years later, we found some flying termite AKA drywood termite droppings around the outside patio. Alvin, who came out, was very nice and knew A LOT about termites in our area. Gave us some very practical DIY advice on preventative measures, and confirmed that we didn’t have an active infestation (whew).
+Efficient and good value: We recently did a preventative ground treatment service with them for subterranean termites, since the house hadn’t had it before, and again they were incredibly efficient, nice, clean, and practical folks. Very reasonable and gave us a pretty precise estimate, based on square footage. Amazing!
+Local company; yep yep!
+Customer service: answers their phone during business hours! You get to talk to the same people more than once and they remember your name. Yay!
+Accepts credit cards: pay by phone after the work is done, or mail a check if you prefer. Easy!
CONs: Nuttin’.
Note: address on Unilocal (Koaha Pl) is different than on business cards (99 – 927 Iwaena Street), but phone number is the same (486‑7378). Since they’re coming to treat YOUR place, not sure how much it matters, but hey, it’s intel.
Would use them again. Their work is warrantied, too; standard business practice but also good to know.
