U-Haul – Agoura

It’s a really nice store of supplies and goods, and the service is very helpful and efficient. But, I’m real surprised at the quality of the vehicles. I would expect more from Agoura and surrounding areas, I should say, I’ve come to expect more.
114,000 miles on the truck I rented. It was dirty, but that wasn’t enough to stop me. After all, I was in a rush to start my packing so I «U-​hauled» it off the lot. It was a little sluggish but I didn’t have far to go. After I loaded it up with all my stuff, the max speed was 45 mph. Really? I was a danger on the freeway. It made a grinding sound. I made it to my destination, unloaded it, and before returning it back to the U-​Haul of Agoura — I gas’d up. All in all, I went 30 miles and it used nearly 6 gallons of gas. Unreal. I blame the condition of the truck.
When I returned it, I complained to service. It was a Sunday, and was told the Manager wasn’t there and would return on Tuesday, would look into the complaint, and would call me. I was awfully busy (working, unpacking, other), and never received a call. On Thursday, I got an emailed invoice that was adjusted and took off $ 40. While that seemed fair, lack of a returned call by management to apologize would have been a nice gesture.
Conclusion: don’t accept an old truck. Insist on a clean, well-​conditioned one! The
experience is more than easy to reserve a truck, so I expect better!

Truck was a hair under the gas mark on the contract — so they charged me $ 16 for a hair. Absurd.
Also tried to blame me for pre-​existing damage.
Do not trust this scam operation. Nickel and dimers.

I have been here twice in the past several days to buy moving supplies. Both times the men working the counter have been very helpful and knowledgeable about the products they sell.
They offered tips to save money and carried the boxes I purchased out to my car and loaded them in the trunk.

Really helpful and organized. Helped us with our move to and from agoura to Newbury park. Used the u-​box system and it seems to work well. Only down side is they don’t prorate if you go over one month and need an extra 3 days. They will charge you for another month. Hopefully this will change soon. Friendly and knowledgable staff.

I have been working with this location for the past several years and they are a big part of my business. I am very happy with the service. Most of the employees are friendly and we always work out any problem. Nothing is perfect but they do try.

I got the worst experience ever I got appointment to install my hitch and then when I got here at seven in the morning they said we don’t have the hitch it’s Bielers after someone else stay away of this place

Zero stars! Horrible and rude employees. Not willing to lift a hand or help me bring my boxes… Girl at the counter literally watched me walk in and struggle to carry them all the way to the register. She just stood there. Then she proceeded to tell me I could not get a refund because I didn’t have my receipt. I didn’t need a store credit. If I’m bringing back my boxes, I’m done moving for crying out loud and the boxes say UHaul all over them. The card I charged it to couldn’t be pulled up because in the midst of moving my ATM card was stolen and she was like «well if I can’t find the card number I can’t give you a refund. It was for $ 13! She said she was the manager and there was no one else I could speak to. Surely there are other locations that you can use. DON’T go to this one. I walked out without a refund and left them their stupid boxes, which I no longer need because, «People, obviously I’m DONE moving!»

I have used this UHaul location twice and have had wonderful experiences.
A few days ago, I walked in without a reservation because things went horribly bad with a truck that I had reserved from a different truck rental company.
They did not have the truck I need on their lot… so they searched for one at other UHaul locations for me and found one!
They treated me very good (as usual) and I got a rental truck without an appointment… at a low price.

Richard is the new manager. He’s very helpful and knowledgeable. Super customer service.

Stopped in to get a storage cover for my mattress. The power was out, but the guy working there was super nice and helpful. He asked a few questions and then showed me my options. I picked my bag and he checked me out with a hand-​held scanner. I was out of there in less than 3 minutes. Great service!
Wish the lights were on so I could have seen more of the store, but it looked like a large place with lots of supplies and trucks.
