I absolutely cannot say enough about them. Gina is AMAZING. Not only have they taken care of us nearly monthly since Gina bought the business, but they did something extra-special for us. We bought a pair of Ireland-made half-chaps in April and, after just 7 lessons, the snap broke. Clearly a rare, defective pair. Well, they were WEEEEELL out of warranty BUT Gina gave Ireland a call and had them replaced for FREE. She fought for us. I wouldn’t expect the same results with anything and everything but, in this case, it worked out well for us and ALL due to Gina’s diligence. She and her staff are amazing. This is an expensive sport to begin with but, these folks certainly take the edge off and make it as affordable AND effective as possible. Never buy a single saddlery need without stopping here. They are highly professional, extremely knowledgeable and want you to have what you need on the spot.

The prices at this shop are 50% higher on items like Fly Masks, Fly Spray and other basic items. Calabasas Saddlery and Kahootz are less expensive on most items that they all carry.

The ladies at Bright Star are delightful! They are so kind and welcoming, and ready to help you find whatever you need. If there’s something you want that they don’t have, they will go to great lengths to help you get it! I recently moved my horse to Agoura Hills and was looking for a place close by my new ranch and Bright Star popped up on Google maps. Off I went, and I found a clean, well stocked store that was pleasant to shop in, with great customer service. They really seem to care about helping customers find what they need. I do wish they had a bit better selection of western tack, since that’s mainly what I ride, but to be honest, there’s not much I need tack-wise. Their selection of horsey odds and ends, grooming and stable supplies, and english tack and apparel is great. And I’m a crossover rider, so I can appreciate both. Anyway, I highly recommend it.

I went back to Bright Star in December of 2013, after I heard there was a new owner. The customer service was exceptional. It was a completely different experience for me than my previous visit. The staff was very helpful, wrapped all my purchases and seemed to care about their customers(100% different than the previous owner) I didn’t find everything I needed here, I felt the children’s selection was slim, but it could have been picked over from the holidays. I very happy that there is a new owner. I now have two tack shops that I can shop in the same area. I think it might be helpful to change the name of Bright Star to help shake the previous reputation.

Under new ownership and it shows. The staff is very helpful and was able to outfit me with exactly what I needed. Also picked up a great gift for a friend. I recommend this boutique-feel shop for all your horsey needs!

I decided to check out bright star yesterday because it’s been a while since I’ve been in there. To my surprise, there is new ownership! Gina and her staff are awesome and go above and beyond to help you find what you need. It is so nice to finally have a tack shop that is close by, and the prices are great! If you haven’t been, or its been a while… You need to check it out!

Small selection of items, but they have a good consignment section. The owner is pretty rude(I’d just avoid her altogether if I were you), but the rest of the staff seems pretty nice. If you want a bigger selection and nicer staff I’d go to Hold Your Horses or Calabasas.
