Overpriced dive bar. I ordered two Irish car bombs which the bar tender, Karl, made wrong. He put the whiskey in the beer so not only did it taste bad half empty shot glass on baileys got stuck in the thick head of the beer. For these mismade drinks I was charged for two full shots of whiskey, two full shots of baileys, and two Guinness. When I ask about the price he through a hissy fit slapped the tab and a pen on the bar and stomped off. I really wanted to like this place, it’s a 4 min walk from my apt but I will never go back.

I have had some great times here. My first time coming here was many years ago when I had a room mate. The first impression of this place is… scary! Its a tin building with dark windows. Almost strip club like. Ample parking… cheap drinks… better to go up to the bar and get your drinks versus waiting for a waitress to come by. Karaōke is always fun… limited song selection… but still entertaining. Just another sketchy looking dive off the Addison bar strip of Beltline.

Love this place! Great place for karaōke and good times. Quite the eclectic crowd but that’s what makes it fun. I was hesitant to come here at first but it’s a great atmosphere and we generally get to sing more in a night than we ever did at the Quarter bar down the street! Food is average at best and takes way too long to get to the table given the volume the kitchen has to deal with on a weekend, but really we come here for karaōke and fun!

This is a great bar. Really. If you like a Relaxed scene, Indoors smoking, Karaōke with Walter, and great priced drinks; YOU’LLLOVEOUTERMARKER! Everybody is easygoing and a wide range of age groups. 20’s to 40’s maybe even higher, but everybody gets along. Atmosphere is what you make it, SOGETUPANDSING! My wife and I love to go here…

I’m giving this place 3 stars basically exclusively based on the people watching. I’ve been twice now and both time karaōke was the big draw. Maybe that’s the only draw with this place, I’m not sure. I am sure it’s safe to say the next Whitney Houston replacement will not be discovered here. Service was at best… slooooow. As long as you come here with minimal expectations and are looking to be entertained by some of the worst karaōke singers you’ve ever heard you’ll have a great time. And honestly, even though I’m giving the place a hard time, it is fun for what it is.

Some friends of mine are regulars at this place and took me by when I visited. This is definitely a dive bar with some character. We watched and commented on the karaōke which included a table of college art students taking turns with very eclectic performances of varying but often low talent, and on the other hand there were also some regulars performing, including a big bearded dude who looked like he drives a harley and sung some classic metal and 80’s rock quite well. There were also some tvs with sports on and a dart board. The beer was good(it was beer, no special import selections), the bar was spacious, and the atmosphere was good with a casual working class culture. My friends recommended the loaded potato skins, which were really excellent bar food. This is definitely a good place to see the other side of Dallas that you will not see at Morton’s Steakhouse.

Personally, I don’t love karaōke, but even I will come on a Saturday night to people watch — it’s just TOO good.(The people watching, I mean.) Outer Marker is a casual and relaxed place, just don’t come here expecting to have intimate conversations — it’s pretty loud and often crowded.

The Outer Marker is good times. I have been going off and on for about 10 years. It’s all about the karaōke. It’s a fun and social crowd. You will see all types here. Which is part of the charm. The drinks are pretty strong, and the prices are right. There is one(maybe two?) pool tables but they are right in front of the bathrooms and a bit crowded-in. The bathrooms are totally sketchy. There are some video games etc. Overall, this is a great«jeans and T-shirt» joint where you can let it all out. It’s totally my «stop for a few more on the way home» bar.

Walter is a kicka$$ karaōke DJ on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. If you want a great party, this is the place to go. Would have 5 stars, but the service is horrendous.

I remember when this place was a primarily a sports bar. Used to go watch college football with my mom and eat nachos and wonder why everyone was screaming at the TVs. Now its a sports bar with class…*cough*… Present day… guess what? It’s a mix between a biker bar, a trailer park, tattoo parlor and a karaōke bar. It. Is. Amazing. This place is really out of nowhere. A hidden gem and Tips before you go… –It’s loud. Real loud. –It’s smokey. Real smokey. –It’s crowded. Real crowded. –Huge place. Real seats for real people. –Erotica computer games. Real porn. –Drinks are strong. Real strong. –Karaōke is rad. Real rad. –Biker dudes singing«Blades of Glory», genius. –Drunk women singing«Cryin», fabulous. –Me singing… wait, I don’t sing. Overall, if you can’t figure out where to go for last call or even some good olé fashion fun with friends and not wanting to spend $ 10 a drink, the Marker is the place for you. Maybe I’ll see you on stage, singing Karaōke. Psych!

If you’re looking for a laid-back dive bar with plenty of seats, great karaōke, drink specials, and a pool table, this is the place for you. It’s one of Addison’s most affordable bars as well. We always go there with big groups because we never have a problem getting a table. It’s a very fun atmosphere. It is, however, VERY smoky.

My version of Bizarre Love Triangle was rough, but nobody booed me offstage! Seemed to be country night(I went on a Saturday), but I ain’t hatin’. Actually, I was surprised at how big the bar was and service was ultra friendly from the doorman, to the waitress, to the DJ(KJ?). p. s. I think pitchers of Bud and Miller Lite are 9.50 if you’re wondering about price.

If you’re looking for karaōke in Dallas, there’s no better imho. I’ve searched around, but after finding this gem I’ve searched no further. Not only is the KJ the best I’ve ever seen, being extremely fair and loving what he’s doing, but the song selection is good and the drinks are extremely reasonable. I love the karaōke setup, and the service by the wait staff has never been a problem. A great place to escape the douchebaggery of typical Addison bars… it’s easy to have fun here. I’ll be going back again and again. Great for large groups… I call ahead and they setup tables for my larger parties all the time with no complaints. Thursdays are the best with plenty of chances to sing, but if you want a rocking house, go on a Friday night.

Cool, cool, cool place ! What a nice surprise !! In advance of a real birthday celebration this coming Saturday. BFF took me here tonight(on my REAL birthday) for a drink, or two or three… not counting, according to birthday celebration traditions !!!.(But, I am still walking in a straight line several hours later, so, unfortunately, didn’t over do it… DARN !!) Whitney, our server, was outstanding. She was so friendly, attentive and lots of fun. Even tho we were not regulars, she took great care of us.(BFF, a single handsome guy thought she was really hot… he is a «substitute fill-in son to me(and such a great kid!), so I encouraged him… Ha») What a great dive; sooo comfortable, relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. Love these neighborhood type bars. You can just hang out, have a great time, and be comfortable without being hassled or feeling left out because you are a newbee. Large dining area, with an area for a band, which I believe appears on the weekend. Lots of t. v’s for sports, etc, both in the dining and bar areas. Bar area is huge, which is the smoking area, separated frpm dining, so makes the dining area more comfortable. Love the layout !!! We had only munchies tonight(but, don’t forget the Merlot and draft beer consumed… YAY !!), the loaded fries, with cheese, green onions, bacon and ranch dressing. A great high cholesterol diet !! OH, but YUm YUm !! Wedge Salad for lunch and dinner tomorrow !! After writing my review, why didn’t I give this 4 stars? Just because it’s my first time… up to 4 stars next time for sure !!! See you soon, Outer Marker !!(Located on Addison Rd, North of Belt Line)

Birthday Party Part I Addison has been holding out on me. Why the hell have I not stumbled across Outer Marker before? This place looks like the kind of bar you might come across on some country road out in the middle of nowhere… but it is RIGHTTHERE in Addison! Once you get inside it is actually a pretty large place. They have lots of seating space and then the bar area is raised up a couple of steps and there’s more seating up there. Why do they do that? To maximize the number of people that fall down?(Number of times I fell down: 0 — but I am surprised) Anyway, all you need to know is: $ 2.50 well drinks on Thursdays apparently(and their website says $ 3 wells all day every day) and Karaōke! Plus the waitress was awesome(naturally I have forgotten her name). The karaōke setup isn’t actually all that great — the music isn’t really loud enough and sometimes the words are on delay from the music so you really have to know the song to pull it off. Number of songs I pulled off: 100 Number of songs I pulled off well: 0 Number of songs I drunkenly mumbled to: 50 We also ordered some food… fried pickles sounded like it would really help soak up the $ 2.50 wells. But eh, let’s just say it didn’t. Those pickles were so freakin salty I literally couldn’t eat them. Which was a bummer because that meant no dinner except alcohol for me! Thursday night the place wasn’t really packed, but there were enough people there to make it fun. I believe we talked to everyone in there by the end of the night. This was a no-DB allowed awesome dive and I wanna go back anytime… as long as you drive me!

FUN! I’ve been here several times with my friend Sarah and I’ve never been disappointed. Its a typical dive bar with lots of smoke and strong drinks. I haven’t been intoxicated enough to grace the stage yet but maybe soon!

This was my first bar. It’s a sentimental favorite. It has good prices, and if you go long enough you’ll see the same faces. The other reviewers are right, it’s not the trendiest bar in town, but it’s where to go if you want a relatively cool night with a few friends without breaking the bank.

Okay, so I love this place. I say that with full knowledge that it’s not the classiest or the trendiest, but it’s a fantastic down-home bar. The karaōke set up on the weekends is great, and the bartenders are always nice, even if you get a spacey one occasionally. I also love taking photos here because of the colored lights :) 4 stars because I love the casual atmosphere, not 5 because it *is* a dive bar.

Oh, my sweet Jebus! What a freakin’ dive! Sure, the pool tables and the Golden Tee might be a selling point to some people, but the real star is the comprehensive Karaōke set-up. And for some other people, the selling point might be all of the White Trash Bachelorette Parties that go down here. Rock their faces off with some mighty Karaōke!
