Samantha, our waitress, was awesome. The food came out perfect and fast. I will travel from Arlington just to eat here as often as I can.

I’ve always loved these«hole-in-the-wall», home-cooking diners. I even worked with them for over 10 years. I still think they have some of the best food. This place definitely fits the hole-in-the-wall category. Nice, homey atmosphere. Friendly staff. The food was good, too. My bride had the CFS/eggs breakfast, and I had the pork chops/eggs. The meat was good, not outstanding. My wife’s CFS wasn’t the hand battered type, but she said it was good. My pork chops could have used a little seasoning, but were cooked just right. The«over easy» eggs I ordered were perfect, though(something that, for some reason, some restaurants can’t get quite right — either too hard, or too runny). The home fries were really good. Our waitress recommended them over the hash browns, and they were excellent. The obviously home made biscuits were also very good. Also, I’m not a huge fan of Community Coffee, but for some reason, even it was good here. Our waitress was very friendly, even taking a few minutes during a busy time to tell us a little about the place when we told her it was our first time there. She was very sincerely friendly(not just fishing for a big tip). The service was fast, and the food was hot. I would recommend J’s, and I will definitely be going back myself.

I love places like this. Hole in the wall, affordable and good! I got the CFS w/eggs over easy. Perfectly cooked and seasoned! Toast and fruit sides were good! Mashed potatoes were tasty! I liked the awesome fries! Chili cheese burger is tasty! Ketchup is sweet and tangy! Yum! Friendly staff! Pea salad and black eyed peas were ok. I’ll be back! Especially since it’s open 24⁄7!!!

Great food for a great price. I ordered the 3 egg omlete and was not disappointed at all. If your in the Addison area it’s a must try.

Sometimes you have to wait on a table during the breakfast weekend rush. They do have smoking and non-smoking section. You have to walk through the smoke to get a non smoking section. They need to follow other restaurants to stop it all together. Food is good and service is ok. Just a neighborhood place with great prices.

The best home cooked breakfast and soooo inexpensive! This place reminds me of the old show, «Mel’s Diner.» The only downfall is how smoky it smells as in cigarettes. Other than that, the staff is very friendly and the food is delicious, especially the Belgian waffles. YUMMO!

This place is an old diner that has not evolved one bit since it was opened 30+ years ago. In fact, they still allow smoking in the diner. The menu is basic. Food came out quickly and tasted ok. Nothing spectacular. Service was good. The nice lady who helped us even took $ 0.50 off the check because we didn’t get an egg with the waffle special. Besides the smell of smoke, the biggest negative was the cook(or someone on the back line) coughing up a lung. Definitely not something you want to hear while your food is being prepared it you’re eating.

5 stars because it is cheap, tastes amazing, is open 24/7, and the service was wonderful. Great for a late night meal

Homemade breakfast anyone? I am a diner fanatic. Dots Diner in new orleans is my baby. Favorite place in Louisiana. But J’s most def my fave place in Texas. Great food, great people and great prices. What else do you want? Plus for the still smokers there’s a smoking section. And for the non smokers no worries they got you covered. And if you want to win a Wal-Mart gift card, play their little poker machine and press your luck. It’s open 24 hours so don’t make an excuse that you don’t have time to go. It’s always good for after the after party ;-) enjoy!

We had an amazing server named Michelle at J’ breakfast and burgers. She was attentive and had awesome hair. They have a smoking and non smoking section which I loved. My favorite aspect of this 24⁄7 diner was the Jukebox and a casino slot machine. I couldn’t be happier or more entertained. By the way the food came out in five minutes and blew my mind.

I love this place. The perfect breakfast and down home comfort food spot. The waitresses are the best. It’s like hanging out with your sweet but crazy southern aunt. The food is ridiculously affordable and I’ve never had a bad meal. They do allow smoking but its generally not to bad and lets be honest if you can’t stand smoking go to a non smoking resturant. I myself am not a smoker but have not had a hard time during any of my visits. If you are looking for a hot plate of breakfast, a damn fine cup of coffee and a slice of cherry pie…(or coconut, or chocolate, or lemon, or pecan, or all of the pie) this is the place.

I have to say this place is the bombCom. Let’s start with the food because that’s the best part. We had an old school cook whip us up something good. He had those spatulas going left, right, and beyond. I had the ricks and for that price, it was to good from top to bottom. I killed it with the quickness lol. The only negative for me it’s a place where you can smoke but you really can’t smell it though. I had to give it 5 stars because it was just to good. Go there and get you some because it’s 24⁄7!

This place is terribly disgusting. I was appalled by all of the smoke, the unclean appearance and the moodiness of the staff. I love little diners but I think this place shouldn’t be allowed to serve food.

I would totally go back IF they did away with the smoking and cleaned it up a bit. The chicken fried steak was delicious, and the service was good, but i just can’t look past the smoke and hygiene of the place.

Solid hole in the wall kinda place. We were visiting Dallas and wanted a quick easy breakfast and this definitely did the trick and was so cheap!!! I had the 2×4 which left me super stuffed and was like $ 5?! My only beef was the smoking, but of course, I knew from the reviews this would be the case going into it so not the business’ fault. I have asthma so it was a poor decision on my part thinking I would be ok in there because I was not. Fortunately service was super fast and the food was great so we were in and out. I would go again and just not forget my inhaler ;)

Smoky. People still smoke in restaurants? This place is for smokers. Great wait staff, calling you hon and all that. Working their tails off, that’s for sure. Breakfast was great, fresh cut up potatoes, pan fried. Good strong coffee. Did not like the microwaved cinnamon roll — got hard and chewy fast.

My experience this time was way better! I love the atmosphere, definitely an after the party diner. I had the 2×4 platter. It was good but not amazing. The cooks don’t wear gloves which is disturbing they were picking up food with there hands :/minus a star definitely. Pancakes and bacon where basic eggs were ok the bacon and sausage where best. I’ll be back just because it’s so laid back. Plus my waitress was awesome.

I have country roots and so J’s fits right into the small town atmosphere like my Dad’s hometown of Bonham. J’s reminds me of what’s it’s like to be included in a big family. The menu is heart-stopping so don’t eat here if you are trying to be healthy. There is plenty of down home items to choose from like J’s Hobo which is double of everything including biscuits and gravy! I was salivating just thinking about it! They offer pancakes, waffles, and eggs cooked to order. Thr orange juice taste fresh squeezed even if it isn’t. Our waitress was a hoot and I loved the way she called my parents Momma and Pappa! Family! Try it. You’ll love it if you aren’t a pretenious prick or princess!

I love the atmosphere here! Saturday morning seat yourself, packed house. Sat at the bar got my coffee right away and my order later for the breakfast tacos took about 20 minutes and it was worth it. I’ll come here more often glad I stopped by!

This place was awesome… My fiancé had just driven into town from Lubbock and were hungry for something other than fast food.!J’s was one of the only places still open and I was a little worried because all of the other reviews talked about how smokey it was but I didn’t get that at all. Of course it was a little smokey, I mean it’s a diner. When you first walk in, it’s a little underwhelming… But my gosh the service was great and the food was awesome. I had two eggs over easy, hash browns and biscuits and gravy(my go to diner breakfast no matter what time of day) and my fiancé got the cheddar jalapeño burger with fries. We were both complete plate cleaners because the food was so good. This place would be awesome for after the bars, or just to stop in for a quick bite! Our total bill was $ 12… Can’t beat that!
