Love this place! It’s just as good as going to a seafood restaurant. It’s a walk up and order, they give you a beepy thing to let you know when your order is ready. One of the best Mexican shrimp cocktails I’ve ever had. Peel and eat or fried shrimp are equally as good and rather large. Blacked shrimp or salmon is also super yummy. Comes with beans, rice and grilled zucchini veggies. Good and good for you! Have beer on tap that they pour into the frostiest mugs I’ve ever seen. Food is good quality. Quick, easy and cheap compared going to a sit down restaurant. One of my favorite casual places. Cheers!

I love fried catfish and shrimp and Flying Fish is a convenient place to get some along with a ton of other choices cooked just the way you like them. I first discovered this chain in Fort Worth and thought it was a hole in the walll one of a kind place, but luckily it’s a chain with several locations! All of them look like holes in the wall with the plasticky booths and pictures of people who caught a fish posted on the walls. You can have your seafood fried, grilled, or boiled. They have shrimp, salmon, catfish, tilapia, trout, snapper, crab legs, oysters, and even chicken(hey, that’s not seafood). You can get combos with fries and hushpuppies, salads, sandwiches, and seafood cocktails. I can only speak for their fried catfish, fried shrimp, and grilled salmon. The fried fish is always golden and the grilled salmon is flavorful and filling. I give flying fish 4 stars because it’s an excellent casual restaurant with great food. There aren’t too many fast seafood places around with quality fish like Flying Fish’s. I have to give and extra start because I absolutely love that Flying Fish has malt vinegar on every table. You cannot have fried fish without malt vinegar! If you haven’t tried it you’re missing out!

BEST hush puppies ever! The food here is always fresh and hot(usually too hot to eat at first)! If you have an old Billy the Bass dancing wall plaque then bring it in to get a free meal.

I get my fried fish action here about every other week. Love the coleslaw… and yup, I put it on the saltine crackers to do my country a$$ family proud. I also add Louisiana hotsauce and cocktail sauce TO the tartar sauce… THAT is your ultimate fried shrimp, oyster, fish DIP. You’re welcome.

I will start off by saying that the catfish is good. The staff are friendly, if they speak English, which many don’t. I had a decent time here with a friend but I won’t go back. There are other places with the same caliber food.

Uh. No. This is for people who like bland food. I didn’t try everything, but living in Louisiana for 2 years and then coming here and trying their BLAND jambalaya. How could jambalaya be bland??? Over priced basic food. Sorry. I love the atmosphere so I really wanted to like it. Too bad.

This place is so cool. It’s priced well. You order your food at the counter and get a buzzer. My snow crab was like 16 $ and it was so good. It’s very casual and there are no waiters.

UPDATE: I went back at the request of the mgr who contacted me. To be fair I took my son back(at their expense) and it was a hundred times better. Catfish was perfect. shrimp tasty but a bit flat.(As opposed to fluffy lol) The fries were nice and fresh. Was good and if it were closer Id definitely go back. If i could give 4.5 stars thats what id give. Alex was very nice. Thanks for caring what we think Alex :)

This place is really cool. It is full of fishing paraphernalia and several walls are covered with those Big Mouth Billy Bass decorations that were popular back in the early 2000’s. Also one wall has pictures of people and their catch for that day. As far as the food, it is good, they have a nice assortment of mostly fried food and some not fried. The fried catfish is very good as well as the steamed crab legs. Most orders come with a side of fires and hush puppies. All the condiments you need are on the table and the prices are reasonable with a nice 75 cent oyster special on Sundays. The food is always fresh and the staff is very friendly.

After posting a 3 rating we were invited back by the manager for a chance at redemption. A 3 rating is perfectly acceptable to me but as the cashier pointed out ‘we strive for four stars’. I still stand behind my 3 star rating. The beans were still very bland and would benefit from a bit of their snappy seasoning. My poboy was half oyster and half shrimp and the best part of my meal was the bread, it was very flaky and soft. My husband’s fish was tasty and he enjoyed it but didn’t rave about it. I think that 3 stars is very fair for this establishment but I appreciate the effort on the part of management to exceed our expectations.

Casual southern restaurant off of belt line. Ordered a cup of the seafood gumbo, which had a nice little kick to it, hush puppies and fried jalapeños. Loved all of it! Good came fast and drinks were self service. I saw they had 75 cent oysters on Sunday’s and will definitely come back to try that out!

I love the super casual look of this place. It reminds me of an old lake seafood shack :) It has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is helpful and quick. This is a fried fish/shrimp, crawfish, crab kind of place. If you are down with seafood and adding your own sauce to livin’ it up a bit, this is the place for you. I feel like this fish is a good and healthy size, very flaky, and non-fishy. The shrimp are cooked perfectly, but they just need a little more pizzazz to me. The french fries are fairly average. However, the fried jalapenos and pickles are incredible! I love the zing of spicy in the jalapenos and the tang of the pickles. Overall, I think this is a cool spot.

Not bad at all! I’m glad I went against the reviews and went here for oysters! On Sunday’s that have .75 cents raw oysters! And they were pretty big and juicy! The cocktail sauce was really good with the oysters. I also ordered a side of fried okra, which my boyfriend enjoyed! I liked them too but they had a bit of too much batter for me on the okra! All in all I was super happy with this place and hope to see reviews go up a bit! Here’s too more Sunday’s at Flying Fish!

Hidden GEM! The place is very laid back and a chill atmosphere. Right when you walk in, you pretty much see the menu in front of you and the cashier where you place your order. I tried the oysters which were $.75 on Sundays, the hush puppies were tasty, definitely try the fried jalapeños(could not stop eating it) and gumbo. They also serve the beer on a chilled glass which makes the beer even better to drink. Even though this place is self served… I just wish that they checked on your tables to see If you wanted to order some more alcohol. Besides that, I will definitely be back.

Had the grouper on special today, it was excellent! The service always comes with a smile and fish is always fresh. This location has the fish tacos with corn tortillas, and is the best place to get them. The red snapper and oysters are also quite good. I recommend getting spinach instead of the squash and zucchini.

Wow I just bought crabs. No seasoning at all. Just steamed. I asked for obey seasoning. They don’t carry it at a seafood spot. I start eating the crabs and it has a strong odor not fishy. I smell it and let my boyfriend smell it. It smells like they soaked the crabs in bleach and the meat is grey. Why are they soaking the crabs in chemicals. This is scary. I will never ever order here again.

This place was just a great find. Yes its in an area that you would think only yuppies would go to… but to find a joint that has great Louisiana food close by is just sweetness. If there is anything that will let you know that they have great Louisiana food. it has to be the gumbo. You have got to have a cup of gumbo. The roux just taste like it’s made from scratch. Not only that, their version of a cup is a bowl to other restaurants out there. They had me at gumbo… and a Coors Light. But hey, what is good food with out good drinks!!! I also had their grilled red snapper with red beans and rice. I have to say, the red beans and rice just warmed my heart up on a rainy day. It does not get any better then the Flying fish. LOVEDIT!
