I am Responding to the Owners reply to my poor rating given to on my experience at Wendydos Hair Salon in West Acton. FIrstly, she is so quickly to point out I am Deborah Robinson. I am and I am proud of that. When you sign in to Unilocal,apparently a Facebook sign in comes up. Not my choice, but feel free to use my almost full name.
I attempted to come in on a Monday that week-​you were closed. I did not choose a «so called busy Saturday» on purpose. And dear Wendydo-​I did not barge in rudely-​I quietly went over to Jessica my stylist for years and spoke to her in a low key voice-(She did not have a customer near her at that time. She then quietly asked you about the return of the product which I used once-​You then spoke so your two or three customers, at most, could hear the conversation. I informed you of my thoughts and informed you the product simply stunk (fact), in my opinion. I never went on line to check out your salon-​I figured my stylist of years went there to work so it must be a very reputable place of business. Your signage of returns should be clearly posted as required by the State of Massachusetts-​not in small letters on your bottom shelf. I did not require a dissertation on credit cards-​if you read my feedback-​I said I could live with that part. I also noticed that when someone complains on Unilocal,you immediately try and call them out for something being bullyest about their feedback. Let me sum this up by saying-​I personally do not find your shop comfortable nor honest. I will not be using your shop anymore than you would want me as a customer. I intend to have no other communication with you.

wendyo salon is wonderful! I came in for the first time because I had a groupon, but I will definitely be back. Jess cut and blow dried my hair and did a great job. She was so friendly and talked about what would be best for my hair type. Over all, a great environment!

Sue did an amazing job with my color. After 10 years of my hair brassing out, even after changing colorists-​she is the first one to get it right!

I had a really bad haircut and my color was long overdue. I found Sue to be honest, funny, and down to earth, working with her was easy. I have booked my next appointment for Jan.

Not happy. Went on a groupon and did not like the haircut or the color. My hair looks worse than before with no shape or style. I asked for an inch and a half off overall and the length looks no different. I could not tell right away due to the styling. Also the owner was rude and unprofessional. Won’t be going back,

Great experience! I live right down the road and decided to try this salan on a lark. Well, the staff was incredibly honest, talented and helpful. I have made my next appointment and will definitely be going back. I don’t give flowery 5 star reviews to everyone so this is really great. So glad I’ve found them!

I had Matthew cut my hair. He was perfect! One of the best cuts I’ve ever had. The salon is fun and easy-​going. I loved it and will definitely be back!

Wendy is such a delight as both a person and a stylist, and Ira has also been cutting my hair since I was little. I don’t often have my hair cut, so I can get nervous about it sometimes, but Wendy and Ira have the skills and the confidence to put me at ease. They offer the artistic vision and the talent necessary for not just any haircut, but a haircut suited to your preferences and hair type. I’ve always been happy with the haircuts I’ve gotten with them, and I’ll certainly keep going to them in the future.

Wendy has been my stylist for at least 10 years and it’s always a wonderful experience. She listens and works with you to get you a style that really works for you. After a couple of scary experiences with inexperienced colorists at other salons, it’s good to know that with Wendy the color will always turn out well.

I tried out Wendy’s salon services at WendyO Salon and she was terrible. My hair color did NOT turn out the color she showed me on a palette. Then she did not call me back to schedule to fix her mistake. Apparently, I now need corrective coloring, which ironically, she offers! She also charges as much if not more than the larger well-​established salons, but does not have full time staff to return phone calls. No coffee unless you like powdered creamer. The place looks run down with a disturbingly stained uneven ceiling.

I am a nearly life-​long patron of Wendy Oulette, and cannot do enough to sing her praises. Even after I moved from the Acton area, I would plan appointments a month out and travel almost an hour to get to her salon. Wendy has seen me through many of my life milestones, from my Bat Mitzvah, to prom, to a trim before my first big job interview after college. The few times I have strayed from her, most recently when I was living abroad for a period of time, I came rushing through her door very shortly after landing back on American soil, and she was always more than capable at restoring my hair-​confidence.
I was so pleased for Wendy when she branched off and started her own salon, and it was very exciting to see her pass her three year milestone. She proved that she was not only a skilled hairdresser, but a smart business woman.
For those of you considering visiting Wendy for the first time, check out her extensive online presence first. I have on many occasions referenced her youtube videos for styling tips, and have even sent her messages online on how to achieve a certain style, which she was very quick to respond to.
I have been receiving compliments from friends and strangers on my hair for years, and I hope that Wendy will be around for years to come.

Obviously, I like Ira — he’s a great guy, and both my teenage son and I like the way he cuts our hair. So clearly he’s versatile, and can adapt the cut to the hair. What I particularly like is that he’s adjusted to the changes in my hair (grayer, lighter, not as wavy) over the years, and has gracefully suggested changes without being at all pushy.
I also really like the salon — the people are very friendly, the atmosphere is very comfortable … and there’s free coffee :-)

Support your small local businesses! Wendy is amazing! I have been seeing her since I was in junior high, I think? I’m 25 now and I have followed her 3 times now to 3 separate salons! Finally, she has her own place! Wendy owns and operates and manages her own salon now! And, it’s fabulous! Located conveniently in West Acton across from the Mobil station in that big white building. Everybody should come here! Wendy styles for both men and women, cut and color, and also does hair styling for special occasions, weddings or proms or anything. I have to say that for years I have gotten comments on how great my hair and my color is and I have recommended so many people to her. My old roommate and her whole family, her parents, go see Wendy now. That just goes to show you that she can do the whole range, men and women, older more traditional and also younger and more modern/​trendy. I knew this one woman who asked me where I got my hair done and she drove to Acton from Boston to have Wendy style her hair for her 30^th birthday party! I had this one salesperson at a store stop me and make me write down the name and phone number of the person who did my hair for her even though she had a line of people waiting at the register!
