I have been taking my children to Mindy’s family hair care(formerly kid klips) for about 7 – 8 years and we have had a wonderful experience. Mindy has a special talent for working with my daughter who has special needs. She has patience and knows how to redirect when my daughter is having a hard time and she is able to succeed in getting the haircut finished and looking beautiful. I would highly recommend Mindy

Horrible! I took my son there for his first haircut as I wanted to take him to a kid friendly place and it was so dirty! There was hair on the floor everywhere. The train table was filthy. They did a horrible job cutting his hair, I could have done a better job myself. I can’t believe we even let them cut his hair. They pulled out the buzzers and it was full of hair. I am disgusted and will NEVER return.

Decided to try this place after hearing about it for awhile. It is $ 17 for a haircut here and while it is somewhat kid-friendly, it is a much smaller operation and physical space than the Snip Its chain. There appeared to be only 2 stations, and one of them features a chair that looks like an airplane. There is also a table with a train set in the corner(should you have to wait).(The price is somewhat comparable to Snip Its, which charges $ 18 for a haircut over 2 years old though being on the Snip Its mailing list you receive $ 2 off coupons regularly, and under 2 years old is cheaper at Snip its, I believe $ 15). There was only one person cutting the hair/running the shop, and she gave an efficient and quick hair cut, though I didn’t feel I was going to have much choice on the outcome. Despite asking at first to keep the hair a little longer, we got a buzz cut at the end. This place is fine if you want no-frills, but I would not expect anything more. If your child has special hair needs or you enjoy more service-oriented places, you may want to keep looking. This shop is within a house-like structure off of Great Road, near the Tailgater’s bar.

Give me a bowl and a pair of scissors and I’ll take care of your kid’s hair. I’m sure this place has more than one hairdresser, but one try was enough.

Kid-Klips has moved to 160 Great Rd in Acton, where the Stride Rite used to be. This location is way better, and is right across the street from the shopping mall where the Staples and Trader Joe’s is located. Thanks Mindy for another great haircut for my son!
