My, how things have changed! While my first experience at this bar in September was a pleasant one, many, many things have endured transformations of a very negative sort. While in September, the atmosphere was open and friendly, this past occasion in March I was groped while ordering a drink, and turned around and told the guy to stop. He did not, so I slapped him. My husband and I were thrown out because I reacted to what I considered inappropriate touching – keep in mind, my husband had merely asked that the guy take his hands off his wife – there was no vitriol in his statement. The regulars are now very country, very territorial, and very rude. I was called a bitch for standing up for myself. CASHONLY bar, very unfriendly to women, and too expensive for the trouble. A cherry vodka sour in this tiny town should not cost $ 7. And a beer certainly shouldn’t be $ 4.50. This is Abilene we’re talking about here.
