Easily the best Thai food in town! Friendly staff, amazing spring rolls, the Panang Curry is my personal favorite!

I’ve had a love affair with Thai food since I was a little girl. I’ve eaten at so many hole-in-the-wall Thai restaurants in nearly every place I’ve visited. That being said, I was a bit disappointed with Krua Thai. I remember first trying them out when they were Bangkok Thai. I was living in Del Rio at the time and was heavily deprived of food diversity. I ordered their Pad Thai, Pad Woon Sen, and fried spring rolls to eat on the journey back home. I could hardly wait to sample each dish as I got into my car. Unfortunately, none of those dishes delivered the familiar heat or flavor I had come to love in Thai cuisine. The Pad Woon Sen had way too much pepper and not enough overall flavor. The Pad Thai was a bit dry and also lacking flavor. Also, I had a really hard time with the chunky pieces veggies they threw into the Pad Woon Sen. Now, don’t get my wrong, I love vegetables. The thing is– I’m big into texture; somehow the crinkle-cut carrots and chunky bits of celery seemed like an after thought. The spring rolls were burned. Yeah, not such a great experience. Anyway, fast forward to a few months after Krua Thai opened in its current location. I decided to give them another shot. I ordered the Larb beef which happens to be one of my favorite Thai dishes. My husband ordered their Yum Nua. Neither one of us were very impressed. So, despite my endless love for Thai food, I feel no inclination to get it from Krua Thai.

Glad to have a real thai place in Abilene finally. I had the chicken satay and of course the panang. I have been known to eat good pa ang more than once in a day — this stuff is good — nice and thick sauce with just the right mix of meat and a little veggies. Friendly guys running the place and even when its busy its worth the wait! Keep up the good work!

I hadn’t ever had Thai food until my mother in law took me here. I’m a big spice fsn and usually people don’t get things spicy enough. Well they do here! I got the spicy beef at a level 2, and it was plenty spice for me. Their spring rolls are also amazing.

Best food in Abilene by far and my favorite place! Everytime I go in with my friend, they know our order… Guess that shows how much we go! They are extremely friendly and I have never had better service or thai food(especially the Panang curry which is my usual)!

Definitely a small business feel, but food was really good. I was not expecting to find a place like this in Abilene, TX, but am glad I did!

Best Thai food that I’ve had in Abilene by far. My favorites are Pad Thai and Yellow Curry. They have excellent customer service and very friendly employees. I eat here at least once a week! Highly recommended.

We were passing through, and stopped by for a taste… we had the Ka Nam Jeep, sesame chicken, chicken and shrimp Pad Thai, and DUI noodles aka drunken noodles… everything was great! The ginger in the sesame chicken sauce was perfect. This is a small«hole in the wall» type place definitely worth the visit! Owner is full of energy very nice! Price quality and taste were well balanced!

The best pad kee mao or drunken noodles I’ve eaten. The heat was perfect and the mild soy, basil flavor not overpowering the dish. I was a bit disappointed in the Tom Yum. It tasted more sour than ginger or lemongrass but it was good. A great find in Albilene.

Krua Thai may seem like a hole-in-the-wall, obscure Thai food restaurant in the bustling metropolis that is Abilene, TX, but looks are often deceiving. In no case, is that more true than here at Krua Thai. For starters, the staff is always warm, welcoming, and ready to make your dining dreams become reality. The food is always well prepared and can be ordered to meet your own spicy-food tolerance. I have come to Krua Thai almost every week I’ve been in Abilene and always left satisfied and smiling. Try Krua Thai, you won’t regret it!

I grew up in California surrounded by excellent cuisine from all around the world, and Krua Thai stands out as one of my favorite Thai restaurants of all. The food is flavorful, cooked perfectly, and I have not been disappointed with any of the dishes I’ve tried here. The owner is amazing, and her staff is great! It gets busy in the evenings, but the staff will seat you as soon as possible. If you want take-out, definitely call ahead. My favorites are the Panang Cury and Pad Thai, with a a special shout out to the Larb Salad, and the Beef Noodle Soup(perfect for the days you’re under the weather). I always get a Thai Ice Tea, because I can’t resist it. This is my favorite restaurant in town. Definitely worth your time!

This place definitely deserves all the recognition it seems to be getting. At least I think so, anyway. It is my favorite Asian cuisine in Abilene. It’s very small so show up early, and I definitely recommend waiting if you have to! The staff is always so friendly and helpful. They seem truly happy to be feeding you, which is a great quality for a restaurant to possess. I’m not as adventurous with Thai food as some of my friends, so I usually just get the pad Thai with chicken. I’ve lived in several parts of California, so I’ve had the opportunity of sampling this dish at dozens of esteemed Thai eateries, and this one more than compares. It’s always served hot and boasts a really bold flavor. It’s not as smoky as some pad Thais, but it makes up for that in other rich flavors. My wife really seems to enjoy the curry chicken, so if that’s your thing I’m sure you’re in for a treat if you come here. I love eating at Thai places because I’m addicted to spicy food and they always have those wonderful spice trays on the table. Krua Thai is no exception. They have dried, crushed chili, chili paste, and pickled Thai chilis. I think I scared our server because I ordered my food at max heat and then I proceeded to add a generous amount of each fiery embellishment to my lunch. She nicely warned me that it was already very spicy, and found it very amusing that I kept adding more spice and really seemed to be enjoying myself. The food here is really delicious, and spicy! Helps me breathe better which I appreciate! If you like Asian food but haven’t tried Thai, this is the perfect place to start. If you already love Thai and haven’t been here yet, we won’t hold it against you. Try Krua Thai as soon as you can!

Krua is by far the best Thai food in town. Compared to the other venues in Abilene I was promptly greeted with a smile, and sat down(I went at 6pm on a Monday night) I hear lunch is Crazy — so get there early, usually a line). I like my Thai food spicy and I got a 4 level it was perfect. Food came out fresh not a long wait. Relaxed atmosphere, casual. Small building– but you are there for the food. It was very enjoyable and I will for sure be back. This is a must try in Abilene.

Fantastic hidden gem in Abilene. The Pad Thai and fried rice are great! The only negative about this place is the size. This is a great place for take out and dine in.

First off, the place is small! It’s clearly family owned and operated which I prefer. You can tell they really care about each customer that walks in. The food was really good, not being a Thai food expert, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I got the Pad Thai with chicken. I asked for the extra hot version. Although it wasn’t «melt your face hot» it did have some decent kick. The chicken was really nice with the noodles. I will definitely eat here again, and perhaps try something a bit more adventurous! Keep up the good work!

Pad Thai was delicious. It gets crowded quick at noon. I would try going earlier. Lak is a hoot and serves up friendly banter as she waits on everyone. I would love if the portions were a little bigger… As well as the restaurant itself.

AWESOME Tom Kha soup and yellow curry. Also had the Thai Iced Tea that really hit the spot! We had the spice level medium and it was just spicy enough but not too mild or scorching hot. Really the best place we have eaten at in 2 days on the road. I eat at many Thai restaurants and if I lived near here, this would be a regular place I dined at.

Great Pad Thai with great service! Is there anything else I need to say? The place is small with about 7 tables, but they can accommodate for groups. The Pad Thai can be ordered with various meats or shrimp and at various levels of heat. It had a really nice kick when I asked mine to be pretty spicy. I like how the lady asked if I liked my food and if I wanted it even spicier! Definitely worth a try.
