This was my first time in Texas and I wanted to do two things while I was out here. Well, more specifically I wanted to eat two things, steak and bbq. I came to beehive for the steak. It did not disappoint. The ribeye was seasoned perfectly. My waiter John did a fantastic job answering questions and making recommendations. This was truly a five star experience. I would come back in a heart beat

Amazing Long Island iced tea. Daily lunch specials are always good, as are the soups and salads. Wish they would open for lunch on Saturday. Great chicken fried steak and you have to try the kebabs.

These cooks know how to cook! The food is seasoned spectacularly! I had a side of asparagus and a sweet potato. The BEST sweet potato I’ve ever had! The waiter was kind and prompt.
Very fancy feeling to the restaurant with high-​quality food. If you want to have a nice dinner out with the family or loved one, come and check this place out!

We come here every year on our anniversary. We always have the best service and food, but tonight, I had THE BEST 10oz filet ever!!! It literally melted in my mouth. It had the best flavor! It was so tender and juicy! I can’t say enough how great our dinner was on this visit!!!

Beehive still continues to keep me coming back! In Abilene I have never had the consistency of awesome food and stellar service everytime except with Beehive!
This place never let’s us down! Steaks are so good! I haven’t had anything I didn’t like! This is my go to place… just can’t beat it!
NICE Downtown location, Quality food, best steaks in Abilene, clean facility, and fantastic service… quit reading and get to eating!

Let me start by saying I really like the owners of this establishment and want them to continue to do well. However, my experience tonight was truly awful. The Beehive does not take reservations, so I showed up fairly early on a Thursday evening (6:30) with a party of 7. Although there were numerous tables available that could have been made to fit 7 it took 50 minutes to be seated and this was accomplished only by asking for status from the host. Once seated the service was as expected until the meal was complete and then took forever to get our check and pay out. So, it took 2 ½ hours to have dinner when it should have easily been accomplished in half that time.
Ali and Nariman, please pay attention to your staff. This was a completely unacceptable experience while trying to celebrate my son’s acceptance into a university and made for a very trying evening.

Another favorite place in town. It is rather pricey, so it’s not a once a week visit. Food is top notch and service is phenomenal. I always order their New York Strip and not once have I had a bad experience. One time my wife ordered the salmon, and surprisingly it came out undercooked. They immediately took it back and fixed it. While we were waiting for it to come back, there must have been 3 individuals stop by to apologize for it. When a place is busy, these things do happen, I appreciate it when owners/​managers own up to it and recognize the issue instead of blowing it off. Any way, Beehive is a Top Notch establishment.
As this is Abilene, be prepared to wait quite a while on the weekends to be seated. They have a bar area where you can order drinks and appetizers while you wait for your table.

I had the Beef Oscar. There are no words to describe how amazing it was. The Beehive is pricey, but for a night out every now and then it’s worth it. I’ve been at lunch a few times before and the prices are significantly less during the day. My steak was cooked perfectly (medium). My son had the chicken fried steak and it looked equally amazing. The hostess and waiter were great. Great food, great service, we will definitely continue eating here.

Very good. Wasn’t as fancy as everyone said it was (but I’m a big city girl) the country décor made me skeptical, but the food and service were very good. They have THE BEST Long Island I’ve ever had (and the biggest) and the prime rib was perfect and very large. Can’t beat a $ 30 prime rib especially as good as it is

the other patrons make for an awful experience and the waiter with a crew cut was rude and unprofessional.
We asked the host to express to the manager about the man who was becoming belligerent off of wine shouting, cursing and speaking about child molestation and absolutely nothing was done.
Not a place you’d take your mother, or friends for that matter. I used to think there was a sense of decorum in this little town but was sadly mistaken here in this restaurant.
I’ve been in dive bars where people had better table manners than this.
It made our experience awful and lost my appetite when food arrived.

Always enjoy the Beehive, Great food and the owners are amazing people with a long time commitment to the Big Country, Abilene and the USA! This has become an icon for the area and provides a classy Texas style meal with drinks served in mason jars.
The Wait staff is friendly, but I would rather not be referred to as «buddy» by any wait staff.
The long island ice teas are strong, limit two. they have a nice bar area that is first available, if you are going to go for dinner you will have to wait a while. Gets pretty full when they are open for lunch.
Don’t expect fast service in the bar on a busy night, usually not enough staff to take orders from tables or make drinks for both the bar and the restaurant.
I highly recommend!

Is this the best $ 10 lunch in America? Yes. Yes, it is. I’ve not had better chicken-​fried steak, and I’m a Native Texan. Also included in this meal was a bowl [and not a cup] of a beautiful, spicy vegetable soup.

Second visit. I’ve been hearing for seemingly forever that the burgers here are the best in town, and wasn’t let down with the Cheeseburger. The price alone makes it a steal (7.50) although they did bump up the cheese price by fifty cents without telling me when I asked for Blue Cheese.
That said, the kitchen here knows how to cook cow; the beef was plenty juicy and beefy tasting, while the burger wasn’t want for cheese. Actually the blue cheese was amazingly melted, forming a kind of fondue-​layer of funk on top of cow. I believe that exact phrase can be found next to «bovine» in the dictionary.
I feel like the fries are pretty worthless and didn’t eat more than a few. They are just too thick and greasey, and really were kind of dull and bland despite what looked like quite a bit of seasoning. I was definetly bummed, but the burger alone is worth it.

Out of town and looking for a good place to eat that was casual. Found this place on Unilocal and it didn’t disappoint. We were seated right away and the waiter was prompt on asking for our drink orders. Food came out in a timely manner and was delicious! I ordered the grilled chicken with a sweet potato, soup and side of vegetable medley. For someone who is always Health conscious when eating out I would recommend this place. Everything tasted fresh and didn’t seem to be made in butter. Would recommend this place to anyone if you’re looking for something more than a burger. If you want a selection of Chicken, steak and seafood then come here.

They don’t take reservations, but dang the food is worth it. This is a must eat place in downtown Abilene. They have the strongest long island iced tea I have ever tasted. I love the home style feel and the country twang The Beehive has. This is one of two of their locations. The other is located in Albany and is the original Beehive.
They have everything from healthy salads all the way to steak and chicken fried chicken. There is something here for everyone. It is a sit down restaurant that won’t hurt your pocket book too much. They have never in the many years of me eating here gotten my order wrong. That is a big deal. I am kind of a diva when I order that usually changes one thing or another about my entrée. They also serve with a smile and nothing short of excellent food.

The food was very good. Steaks super tender, fries very tasty. Pulled pork stuffed avocado appetizer very nice.
Atmosphere is nice, although having so many tables packed in makes wait staff to busy and pretty slow.
Wine list was not offered when we were seated and when I ask for one it was produced and waiter just stood there staring at me and asking every ten seconds if I had decided. Small wine selection and no beer on tap. Our water glasses went dry more than once. Glasses so full of ice it only took few drinks to finish the water.

On a business trip passing town and saw the good reviews of this restaurant, tried it out and turned out to be a great experience.
Food was fantastic, 10oz rib eye was so tender. It has a cured & bonfire flavor, one of the best steak I’ve ever had. Also somehow it is bigger than the 10oz rib eye I always got in Texas roadhouse lol.
Service was just right. The waiter was very fast and efficient, with just enough attention.
It was a great experience, make sure you check it out when in town.

Fantastic spot in downtown Abilene! A must if you’re looking for great food while in town. We had a group of 10 and got in with 5 – 7 min. They had a spot in the restaurant that was perfect for a couple of groups our size. Atmosphere was very nice. Upscale in appearance.
Service was great. Had drinks, appetizers and bread quickly.
We had the combo appetizers which had fried mushrooms, zucchini, cauliflower and onions. Really good.
We had many different plates ordered from shrimp scampi to steaks to burgers to giant chicken fried steaks. I had the chicken kabob. Please see my pic. It was wonderful. Large chicken breast portion on top of grilled veggies like jalapeño, onion, zucchini, tomato and mushrooms.
Everyone loved their dish. Not one complaint. Very refreshing after some not so great experiences at other Abilene dinner spots the past few nights.
Be good to yourself soon and try this place out!
