To be honest, I walked through the door expecting to give this place a bad review. More often than not I am let down by Unilocal reviews of the bar & grille variety.(You know, the younger bar crowd raves about the place they drink at or their friends work etc.) I expected to write a tactful review contradicting the hype and bringing balance back to the Unilocaliverse(yes, that is a thing) so other people unfamiliar with the area could get a fair and balanced assessment of the options here in Aberdeen. But Pounders is actually pretty good. The food is standard… I got the popper burger(which is pretty common) and it wasn’t the best jalapeño popper themed burger I’ve ever had but it wasn’t bad.(Honestly, I like my burgers thicker … With a little pink to them… If you like your burgers well done you’d be happy). The sweet potato fries were also ok(although the SPFs at Mavericks are a little better) But the beer selection is actually pretty great and worth stopping in for alone.(they had one of my favorite beers on tap… A Russian Imperial Ale that is sometimes hard to find… Which means they are at least as good at beer as I am). So I actually really enjoyed the experience… I stayed for a few rounds not only because of the beers but also because the service was good. The bar tender was pretty cool and not even a little bit douchey(even if I didn’t order a cocktail to see how good he was). The wings were solid… The mango habanero sauce was as tasty as BW2 but not as hot. So in summation: yeah, I would go there again, good beer and good people… it is everything a beer place should be.

Worst service ever. I went to Pounders two weeks ago on a Sunday and was seated. I waited 15 minutes and still no server. No wonder it’s only half full on Sunday during football season.

Not a huge fan. If you like bar food give it a try. Great if you like mostly fried food. The atmosphere is nice. Good staff. I’m not a beer drinker but if you are give it a try. Large selection on tap.

By far my favorite place in Aberdeen. Great wings, great beer, and great atmosphere. Service has always been pretty decent and the staff is more than happy to let you sample some beers before making a decision. I always get wings because good wings are hard to come by in the area.

It was wing night tonight and my son and I decided to try Pounders for some Wings. It was about 9:00pm and there wasn’t many people inside. I thought since it was half price wing night it would be packed… it wasn’t. I was a little Leary thinking maybe the wings weren’t as good as Daddy’s or the Circus in town.(both are very good) anyway. we were seated right away and ordered and within 5 minutes received our order. We both had the bone in hot wings and this is my interpretation. Honestly they were the biggest wings I have ever eaten… anywhere! I am not putting down the other places in town but these were huge… nobody comes close. nobody! They were also the best wings I ever had. I like Buffalo Wild Wings but they don’t compare in taste. I didn’t want to mention we also ordered the boneless wings but they weren’t nearly as good(sorry just being honest) Bone in all the way. I have eaten at Pounders only twice before and had burgers and appetizers, but now it’s my goto place for Wings. You won’t be disappointed.

Excellent food, better beer selection. What could make it better is if I got a frosted mug. Friendly staff. Buffalo chicken pizza is great

I have three words: DEEPFRIEDBACON. Omg it’s amazing! They also have really good ranch dressing. I’ve eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. Try the loaded chicken chips too

Stopped in here with a bunch of pheasant hunters after a great hunt nearby. Food was really different and fun. Beer choices were amazing as I will never have a lite beer, so I enjoyed a couple stouts and porters! Had theTexas Dawg Burrito, check it out, totally unusual combination of things in a burrito, but it works!!! If they don’t franchise this business model, they are missing a lot!

They have EXCELLENT food. Very tasty. And a wonderful selection of drinks. My only complaint is that it is very very loud in there.

Service is terrible, wait staff are extremely slow. If you go over your lunch hour, plan on being late back to work. Went there with 3 people, I ordered a hot dog, another ordered a loaded French fry dish, the other a buffalo pizza. 45 min later the food comes, pizza was bbq not buffalo, waitress took it back and took about 5 min the buffalo was ready. If it took about 5 min to cook a pizza what were they doing for the other 40 min the first time. Never going back to this place. Just a joke. Would give zero stars if possible.

Was very dissatisfied with this place. We are on a road trip across america and decided to stop here since this is the only real town with food for quite a while in the area. We sat down and asked for«water with no lemons» and the waitress gave us a smug look and said«our water doesn’t come with lemons.» I’m not sure why that really mattered to us… Clearly that’s the way we want them. We don’t want a story with it. Anyway, she saw us looking at the beer menu and said she’d be back to see if we wanted to taste anything. Thought this was really looking up! We made our choices and waited twenty minutes for her to come back to our table because our food was ready. We just said we didn’t want any beer. What’s the point of having a sample and picking a beer after you’re done with your food? We wanted to enjoy it with our meal. The food was decent. I had onion straws and the fried bacon. The onion straws were amazing. Might be even better if they made a beer dipping sauce with them. The fried bacon was awful. I’ve never had a bad fried bacon, til now. The batter the use didn’t compliment the taste and the type of frying they did made it too crispy to the point where it had no chewiness to it. I’ve had fried bacon from all over the country and this place makes it different than everyone, and not in a good way. Overally, I’d say to skip over this spot. Not a good bar atmosphere, and just terrible service overall. I gave it two stars cause my meal was half good, and the hostess was really nice. Just seemed like the waitresses needed more training in how to balance multiple tables, and how to be kind…

You cannot find a better beer selection anywhere in this neck of the world as good as here at Pounders! 40 taps plus a plethora of bottled brews to choose from! If you like craft beer or are looking to expand your pallet, this is the place! The staff are well educated in the beers to help you decide which you’d like to try. Keep in mind that the taps rotate! They change beers out and bring in new ones. Don’t be upset if the one you liked is gone, just means you get to try new ones! Don’t worry all you ‘light beer domestic’ drinkers, they have Bud and Bud Light on tap and a few other varieties in bottle for you. The menu is great! Simple and to the point, great burgers and ya gotta try the flat bread tortilla pizzas! I had the BBQ chicken flat bread pizza. For an appetizer we had the cheese curds(way better than Culvers), and the deep fried breaded bacon! They have 18 flat screen TV’s all around the bar and atrium. The décor is car themed like a auto repair place or junk yard. Lots of neon up in the rafters, an old bike, street light and car bumper as well. It’s a great place to hang out to watch a game or to just come hang out with friends.
