La Banda Rooftop Hostel

I had an airbnb booked for a week in Seville but decided to move to a hostel to meet other travelers. I checked out three other hostels before choosing La Banda. The staff was really welcoming and it had an awesome vibe. The waking tours they offered were fantastic and the happy hours and dinners (which were DELICIOUS) on the rooftop are some of my favorite memories from Seville! If you are looking for a clean artsy hostel with a great staff and good communal areas to meet other travelers, La Banda is what you’re looking for. Thanks for the memories!

The most hospitable and fun hostel I have stayed in! I visited spain in mid December and stayed at 3 hostels. One in Malaga, one in Seville, and one in Barcelona. La Banda in Seville was definitely the best! The employees (English speaking) know the best restaurants, best sights and best tour guides. I gotta give a shout out to Medi, he is the best tour guide ever! One of the nights we went out to a small bar where live music (flemenco) and spontaneous dancing is common. Super authentic and genuine!
You will meet young people from around the world! I stayed in the off season and no less than 8 countries were represented.
Last but not least: breakfast and dinner every day!

La Banda Rooftop hostel was by far the best hostel we stayed in during our trip to Spain! The four men who own the hostel was wonderful and super friendly. The nightly 6 euro dinners are perfect for bringing people together to prepare for a night out. I HIGHLY recommend this hostel to anyone staying in Seville! Plus, the location is ideal. Also, do the morning tour with Medi, he’s great!

Una azotea impresionante, sobre un albergue juvenil, que ofrece unas vistas sin comparación a la Catedral y al centro histórico de la ciudad.
Además, ofrecen pocas pero sabrosas opciones de comida y bebida (imprescindible la hamburguesa vegetal, con productos ecológicos) a precios de lo más asequibles. Algo pensado para el viajero low-​cost que los sevillanos también podemos aprovechar.
Es un lugar fresco y reservado, con colchones y cojines para tumbarse y disfrutar de un rato agradable con la pareja y/​o los amigos.

Con el buen tiempo, en Sevilla, aparecen los planes al aire libre, y si a uno la gusta la música mejor que mejor, porque de vez en cuando surge la oportunidad de ocio nocturno musical en lugares singulares bajo las estrellas. Se abren las puertas del monasterio de La Cartuja para dejar entrar la música como se abren las puertas de los jardines del Alcázar. Y surgen iniciativas como la The Living Roof.
Conocí The Living Roof cuando conocí su terraza. Había un concierto de Paco Cifuentes y me planté en la azotea del hostel. Antes de ir, pensé que se trataba de un nuevo local, tipo bar con el buen gusto de dar conciertos de vez en cuando. Pero descubrí que no, que aquello era un hostel con grandes añadidos y grandes iniciativas, como esa terraza y ese ciclo de conciertos.
La terraza, no demasiado grande, estaba a rebosar de gente, la mayoría no éramos inquilinos del hostel, sino que habíamos llegado hasta allí atraídos por la música. Supongo que los inquilinos del hostel fliparon, y bien, con la masa de personas que nos presentamos por allí. Aquello estaba muy animado. Unos pillaban desde el primer momento sitio para le concierto, otros daban vueltas por la terraza observando los cuadros que colgaban de las paredes, otros husmeábamos lo que podíamos del hostel. Todo el mundo se mezclaba y comentaba lo acertado de la idea.
The Living Roof se había convertido en un gran triunfo, pues junto con un servicio muy bueno de hostel (el hostel estaba realmente bien preparado y los precios eran realmente baratos), habían logrado diferenciarse y atraer al sevillaneo con la excusa de los conciertos de grupos de la ciudad. Todo muy bien pensado, tanto que recientemente han exportado la idea a Madrid. The Living Roof ha abierto hostel en Madrid, con las mismas intenciones.
