This is a great little coffee shop for taking a little break in the afternoon and chill with the scenery. We stopped to warm up with a cup of carajillo, an espresso shot with rum or whiskey(I’m sure you can use other type of spirit). The rum was flambé for a while in front of us, which allows to burn the alcohol and accentuate the flavors in the spirit. Then, pour the coffee and a bit of sugar and the product is an amazing warm up drink. Service was very attentive and friendly. Definitely a nice spot to see and be seen.

I am a coffee snob and always in search of great coffee shops around the world. When I was in San Sebastian/Donostia a couple of years ago, this was my go-to coffee shop both day and night. It has a Chinese theme going, but don’t let that detract from you because the coffee and chocolate specialty drinks are primo. This would be considered a hipster place and that’s okay, if done right. Get there early if you plan to hang out and chill otherwise you may be without a seat.

Amazing little café nestled in the tiny streets of San Sebastian. Get here before the crowds of tourists from the nearby hotel get in. Order the cappuccino with a side of jamon. Fresh squeezed orange juice also provides a great decaf alternative for this cozy café with a very hip vibe.

Cozy little coffee shop with great prices and also free wifi. The espresso and latté were perfect and we will be back for sure!

Nice spot for beer or coffee — free wifi, decent coffee and some cakes, what more could you ask for. The café is mostly occupied by tourists lounging around, but it’s a nice break from the pinxtos bars!

San Sebastian is not exactly the best place for a coffee snob, but this coffee shop passed the test for me(wannabe coffee snob) and is probably the best you’ll get in the city. Extra points to the baristas for drizzling pretty chocolate art on top of drinks(told you I was a wannabe).

when one finds a great place to take a coffee, one feel reluctant to share as to not change the atmosphere, but when one finds one this good with a great mixture of customers and a warm welcoming it’s a must to shout about it! my wife and I have been here every day of our holiday as a relaxed awakening.

This was the first place where I could not read the menu since it was all in Basque. Still, we were able to figure out what we wanted. The cortado seems to be what everyone gets here, and for good reason. That, an iced coffee, and an iberico bocadillo were only € 4.90! The tortilla also looked amazing, but we were about to go to a big lunch, so we couldn’t try it. They have tables inside and out, and they have free wifi.

An awesome little coffee shop with small snacks to keep hunger at bay. The coffee I had here was one of the best I’ve had in Spain and the tosta was great too. Some say this place has a hipster feel to it, but I think it’s just a café that serves up good quality coffee & snacks in a comfortable environment. If that means hipster, OK. Wifi here is incredible fast. When I tested, it was 20mbit download and about 10mbit upload. Bring a laptop and upload some videos…

Too bad we found this place on our last day. Loved the different spaces, all with a bohemian, bric-o-brac aesthetic. The breakfast options were delicious, notably the pan con tomate, one of my favorite Spanish breakfast dishes, done expertly well here with several options of fresh bread for the tostada. The café con leche was one of the best we had during our stay in SS. Best of all was the friendly staff who chatted with us about their favorite aspects of SS/Donostia, which they said is best enjoyed in the summer. Hoping we get to come back here to experience it firsthand, and if so, we will definitely start our days here.

This place was located just across the street from the Maria Cristina so the wife and I decided to check it out. Read the reviews and yes, the place is totally hipster, but they served some pretty darn tasty coffee and had some good home made carrot cake. Would definitely check this place out again!

A friend of ours in San Sebastian told us about Koh Tao knowing our love of café culture and delicious Cortados. Koh Tao has a laid back vibe and is a haven for hipsters. They have a variety of drinks which include coffee, smoothies, and alcohol in the evenings as it turns into a bar at night. They serve some pastries and toast with jam in the mornings and around 11 a.m. or so, bring out a Tortilla de Patatas and some small sandwiches with Jamon. The Cortados are a tad milky but tasty nonetheless and it’s nice to sit back with a cup and people watch. Service is friendly. Recommended.
