I had a four day stay in Barcelona and had followed Toni Donaire on Instagram for sometime. I’m a huge fan of the Spanish neo traditional tattoo art and made an advance appointment. The shop is a little rough, but the artists here are all top notch. Toni, Trudy and Almagro are all fantastic world class tattooers.
Everyone in the shop was polite, friendly and positive — Toni was a true professional. Like other posters from the U.S., there is a price differential here. If you’re used to paying $ 200+ per hour for world class art, you’ll be surprised to pay half that here. I think Toni should increase his rate. He’s that good. Can’t wait to come back to add to the collection.

I got two tattoos here from Toni Donaire. I came from NYC (where tattoo prices are through the roof). I emailed Toni a few weeks before with my idea and he gave me a VERY GOOD quoted price (which is rare for a tattoo artist to do in NYC they do hourly usually). I worried a bit that for the price the work would suffer. I could not have been more wrong. Toni is a true artist. He is so incredibly confident with his hand and it is reflected in just how clear his lines and overall work turns out. I will return to him every time I go to Barcelona for more tattoos.
Both Toni and the other artist are very friendly, open, and easy to communicate with. The shop feels like a hangout where everyone is nonjudgmental and easy going.
Walking around Barcelona after I got my tattoo everyone complimented the work and asked where I got it done.
If you’re thinking of getting a tattoo in Barcelona, don’t think, go immediately to Blue Cat. You won’t ever regret it.

Out of millions of tattoo studios in Barcelona I luckily happened to fall into talented hands of Toni Donaire at Blue Cat studio in Grácia.
Being from Germany it was a hard time deciding where to go for my first tattoo and I had a list of studios to check out. Once at the Blue Cat’s the atmosphere was cosy and very professional at the same time. The motif was only in my head so I head to explain it. No problem at all for Toni who really listened and offered me to see the sketch before the appointment with the possibility to apply any changes. Blue Cat was not the first studio I visited but here my gut told me I was at the right place.
The sketch swept me off my feet and I had no doubts whatsoever if I wanted it or not. During the process Toni explained every single step, which was very comforting for a tattoo virgin. The end result is more than satisfying! I highly recommend Blue Cat studio, you will be taken a good care of!

This is not one of those places that is very obvious for the regular expat or tourist; there won’t be a lot of foot traffic going by here, but perhaps just a block over there will be. It’s right off Carrer d’Astúries, about a a block from Fontana on Torrent de l’Olla. No fuss, no glitz, no glamour, just a shop and quality work.
The guys are helpful, speak English when you need them to, and price their service very respectably compared to other salons. The atmosphere is very clean and relaxing, and you’re in-​and-​out without much of a hassle in a short amount of time.
