Mr. X

This was recommended by friends who used to visit the place quite a lot when they lived in Spain. We met up with other friends too, who also rated the place. It is fair to say that we were all disappointed.
The service was haphazard. Although the owners spoke perfect English, the waitress was less than confident. When she brought the food she used the wrong name so the meal went to the wrong person.
I specifcally said that I could not eat melted cheese, and did want cauliflower cheese on my plate. wrong. This had to be sent back, and it had been given to the wrong person.
Fortunately, my family and I were treated by our friends, so the meal didn’t cost anything.
The owners son is the chef, and quite honestly, I’ve eaten better for less, and presented better too.
The courtyard is fine, but not very well ventilated. The tables inside are in a very dark environment.
I’m being charitable by giving it 3 stars.
Some history is that the place had a good name, closed down due to a dispute with the authorites, and then reopened.
The owner made his money in the early days of Calpe by supplying TVs to the new hotels opening up.
My wife and I will not be returning.

Este fue recomendado por amigos que solían visitar el lugar mucho cuando vivían en España. Nos encontramos con otros amigos también, que también clasificaron el lugar. Es justo decir que todos estábamos decepcionados.
El servicio era irregular. Aunque los propietarios hablaban perfecto Inglés, la camarera era menos de confianza. Cuando ella trajo la comida que ella utiliza el nombre equivocado por lo que la comida fue a la persona equivocada.
Yo específcamente dije que no podía comer queso derretido, y quería queso de coliflor en mi plato. equivocado. Esto tenía que ser enviado de vuelta, y se había dado a la persona equivocada.
Afortunadamente, mi familia y yo fuimos tratados por nuestros amigos, por lo que la comida no cuesta nada.
El hijo de los propietarios es el chef, y honestamente, he comido mejor por menos, y presentó mejor también.
El patio está muy bien, pero no muy bien ventilado. Las mesas en el interior están en un ambiente muy oscuro.
Estoy siendo caritativo, dándole 3 estrellas.
Un poco de historia es que el lugar tenía un buen nombre, cerrado debido a una disputa con los authorites, y luego volvió a abrir.
El propietario hizo su dinero en los primeros días de Calpe mediante el suministro de televisores a los nuevos hoteles que se abren.

Ich muss meinem Vorschreiber zustimmen, das Mr. X in Altea ist sehr gut.
Daher sollte man sich einen Tisch reservieren lassen, denn sonst wird es meist nichts mit Abendessen. Das Restaurant ist im Sommer sehr gut besucht, was für sich spricht.
Der Service ist sehr gut und das Personal immer freundlich und nett.
Kann das MR, X nur jedem Empfehlen, der mal in dieser Region Urlaub macht.

Das Restaurant ist in einer renovierten Eselscheune mit einem wunderschönen Innenhof. Da Reservierungen angeraten sind sollte man versuchen in den sommermonaten dort einen Tisch zu bekommen. Die Blütenpracht und der Duft tragen noch einiges zu dem tollen Ambiente bei.
Mein Lieblingsgericht ist das Rumpsteak mit Roquefortsoße. Einfach Göttlich. Als ich das letzte Mal Mr. X besucht habe, probierte ich ausnahmsweise mal etwas Neues und bestellte die Lammkeule. Auch hier hat sich der Küchenchef ein kleines Meisterwerk erlaubt.
Die Bedienungen sind allesamt sehr aufmerksam und mehrsprachig, von Spanisch über Holländisch und Englisch. Evtl. haben die Besitzer auch mal eine deutschsprachige Saisonkellnerin.
Seitdem Altea die Straßenführung erneuert und verbessert hat ist es nun auch ein leichtes zum Restaurant zu gelangen und Hinweisschilder tun ihr übriges.
