A surprisingly affordable way to have a fantastic meal. I’m not saying it was cheap — at about £45 for 5 courses without beverage, it definitely isn’t that, but it’s not completely insane and for what you get, well worth it. The service is fantastic and attentive while being at the same time relaxed and friendly. The food was superb and fairly experimental. It wasn’t flawless, a lettuce course we had in the middle of the meal was tasty but too rich with it’s rapeseed oil sauce — not to say we didn’t finish it, we did — but we were hoping for something less heavy at that stage in the meal. Everything else was pretty much divine, and with a menu that changes every 3 weeks, I would certainly be happy to come back and experience next month’s adventure. I don’t live in Copenhagen, so that’s not actually an option, but for those of you who do and those visiting, this is worth the trip! Bookings not impossible to get either — we did book a table, but did so morning of our meal. the restaurant was full and bustling, but clearly it’s not impossible to get a seat either.

Great restaurant! Was worried the portions would be too small but 3 courses was just the perfect amount! The fish and the veal were beautiful, and a nice claiming ambiance for dinner with friends :)

Absolutely EXCELLENT!!! Everything was perfect from the beginning with the scallion butter and unlimited warm soft bread. Each course was a true work of art and a flavor explosion. Portions are a good size. I would definitely return.

Dining at Radio was an amazing surprise for me and I did not expect to like it as much as I did. Located in a Copenhagen neighborhood close to a subway stop, Radio was opened by 1 founder of Noma and 1 chef(Jesper) who worked at Noma: the founder being Claus Meyer is the owner of Meyer’s Baggeri and Deli(my favorite breads ever are at Meyer’s). Radio is a small comfy restaurant, with wood tables and modern accents, inviting, unpretentious, almost an urban family style restaurant. The wait staff was friendly attentive but not serious like most high-end Danish/Michelin establishments. Here are the plates I sampled. The dishes are not huge which prompted me to try more and am very glad I got to do so. Amuse: local radishes in BBQ sauce, super nice, explosive, yummy. Langoustines, ribbons of carrots, smoked cheese, dill oil and rye crumbs. This dish was my favorite– the nicely thin carrots and smoked cheese bedded with the langoustines was deliciously composed. Steamed plaice with gooseberry sauce, rocket sprouts, charred cucumber, roasted buckwheat. The nicely steamed, soft and pillowy fish contrasted the mellow charred cucumber and the crunch of the buckwheat was melded together with gooseberry sauce, really nice. Local charred cabbage, green beans, parsnip and peas purée, toasted elderflowers whey foam. I loved this dish, it was vibrant, new to my palate and loved the contrasts and freshness. Chicken with broccoli, pistachios, peas, pea shoots, chicken skin foam. Nicely made. I would have liked a tad more salt but the I understand why the chef made it this way. Dessert Course: Pickled strawberries, caramel, licorice cookie, fresh milk ice cream, olive chips. Yummy Coffee: With coffee, they served apple caramel leather stuffed with cheese butter jam. Amayzing after coffee gift. Loved Radio, the predominance of earth crops and less land animals is something I would love to follow in the New Year and the future. Radio’s food is new and the flavors concocted by its artists, 2die4. Couple that with service that is user-friendly, and I’ve found my fave resto for the year! Coming back! Visits: 1 Tip: All produce are local organic farm to table. Reserve for an early seating because it’s a small restaurant and it can get busy.

One of my best restaurant experience. First I emailed them saying that I was allergic to masheooms which was the main thing in one of the dishes. Got a quick reply saying that was no problem and that they will make the dishes without mashrooms and they did, not just take away all the mushrooms, they made a whole new dishes for me. What a service. My whole experience was super good. I had the 5 dishes meny with the wine meny and eveything was top notch. I cant complain about anything. It was just super awesome!

On a weekend in Copenhagen my wife and I decided to celebrate my birthday by having lunch in this excellent Nordic food restaurant. What a treat. The courses were these: Amuse bouche: crispy onion with some type of cream– bite size and exploding with flavor. Scallops in foam– little scallops with small green broccoli like vegetables and bits of some dried crunch like bacon bits. All encompassed in some type of foam. So light and delicious– the crunch really paired well with the scallops. Plaice with pumpkin shavings– my favorite dish. Also very light. White fish was flaky and covered in pumpkin shavings, seeds, and some type of sauce. A melt in your mouth dish Pheasant with mushrooms– the pheasant and the sauce were very good. However I am not a mushroom lover, so the two types of mushrooms were overkill. My fault for ordering mushrooms Swedish cheese– two large slices of sweet cheese accompanied by some type of sauce, which really brought out the flavor. Excellent course, although we only needed one for two people. Ended up taking cheese home. Wish the bread hadn’t run out before the cheese. Apple cream dessert– finished off with a bang– apple and crumble in a sweet cream, with a scoop of anise flavored sorbet. Glad we only ordered one. As it was very filling. Good sweet to finish off the meal. Overall the five course meal was decent«value»(relatively speaking). The meal came with bread and onion infused butter. We also ordered wines by the glass. The waiter poured me a Riesling which went well with the meal. Service was a little slow toward the end but I think that was due to the waiters thinking we weren’t finished with the pheasant because we had mushrooms on our plate. The cheese and dessert courses were better to share after the order three courses. Good experience for Nordic cuisine.

Outstanding food and service for a reasonable price in Copenhagen. This might be one of the best bargins in town. Hip décor and an extremely friendly and helpful staff make this place very inviting. We stopped in for a late lunch on a Saturday and we’re quite simply blown away. There is no menu, just the option for number of courses you want. We opted for the five for 500 Kr. Food was amazingly prepared with a perfect balance of flavors. Portions are generous too. There was a scallop dish, a succulent cod dish, a perfect veal dish, an outstanding cheese plate, and quite possibly the most amazing dessert – sunflower seed ice cream. The wine list is quite nice as well. Plan for a 2 – 2.5 hour visit as the courses come out at a relaxed pace. This place embodies modern Scandinavian food at a great price.

Outstanding! Have to eat at this place. Every single dish was well thought, paired perfectly with the wine or juice(my husband chose the wine and I chose the juices). The service was incredible, perfect explanation on the dishes, they were very kind and you could tell how pleased they were to serve you. The design is perfect, the place was packed so recommend you make a reservation. If you are in Copenhagen for the food experience this is a must.

Food — 4 stars! Delicious and filling. Lovely unique flavors. Based on food quality alone, we would be very happy to recommend. Ambiance — 4 stars! Loved the design and comfortable atmosphere. Toilet area was clean and tidy. Sound level was also very nice. Many new restaurants are very loud but Radio was nice. Now for reasons it’s not a solid 4 star rating overall… Service –2 stars. Needs major improvements. Firstly, our table of 4 arrived for early seating. There was no one else in restaurant. We requested to sit near the window but was denied and told that the window area is only for seating 2 ppl. That is utterly ridiculous and needs to be changed. Their tables are set up so it is easy to make tables change from 2 to 4. Secondly, we ordered wine by the bottle. But the bottle arrived at our table already opened. That is unacceptable. Always present bottle orders unopened to patrons. Thirdly, we were not told of any additional courses offered that night. We overheard it being offered to another table later in the evening. Lastly, please provide bread plates. Unless your bread is bite sized, it’s not nice to hold on to a chunk of bread as you eat it with no place to put it except right on the table. In general, the service was pleasant but with Noma pedigree, several service areas can be improved.

Enjoyed a 3-course lunch on our last day in Copenhagen. July 17, 2015. First an amouche vouch of baby radishes and a mild BBQ sauce was served. Nice. Our favorites were the langoustine first course and the desert, with marinated strawberries on vanilla ice cream with dried black olives topping. Both great. My second course could have been better if the fish was more prominent, my partner’s pork was also very good. One thing that I enjoyed throughout was the addition of textural items using grain, and other items. I already mentioned the dried black olives on the ice cream but also worth mentioning was the rye crunch on the langoustine. Service was great. There were only 3 tables being served. The bill was not extreme.

We ordered 5 course tasting menu(400DKK each) and an extra dessert(75DKK). The presentation was good, but not wow(see our pictures). Service was great. 0. We started with amuse Bouche — small red-white radish with mild BBQ sauce which was okay. The radish could have been better selected. 1. Our first course was thin ribbon slices of large carrots nicely arranged with white smoked cheese sauce and cured langoustine. Good but not wow. 2. Our second course was Steamed Plaice(a spotted flat fish) which was delicately prepared and remained moist. This came with crispy pan fried cucumber with a sauce of gooseberries. The dish had a weird addition of roasted buckwheat which did not go well with the delicate taste and texture of plaice. 3. This was the best course and was a vegetarian course. Lettuce was lightly pan fried and was still crispy amidst the foamy light whey sauce which was delicious. The fried green beans was an excellent addition which made it a heavenly dish. 4. Chicken Breast was lightly grilled along with some black pepper and grilled broccoli. This was complemented by Danish green peas and tender green pea leaves. This was delicious as well. 5. The final course was milk ice cream with sweet pickled strawberries topped with a sweet crisp mottled with liquorice. This came with some smooth caramel. This was good but not great. Our extra dessert was excellent. It was an apple ice cream with a good amount of meringue lightly burned and burnt white chocolate. This was enhanced by sweet pickled rhubarb which was smooth but had the solid form.

We went there for dinner on 5÷26÷15, I am very happy that I booked this restaurant in advance when I only stayed in Copenhagen for just less than 24 hours. Copenhagen was said to be offering world-class dinning experience, most people know about Noma, top 1 restaurant in the world located in this city, surrounded by other excellent Nordic restaurants. It’s known that it’s not easy to book Noma if it’s not months in advance, however, there are a couple alternatives to that. The Radio, initiated by co-owner at Noma, Claus Meyer, was an excellent choice. Absolutely modern Nordic style of food, a Scandinavian taste, with light but delightful food presentation, offers a slow and quality dining experience. High ceiling and quiet dinning room located in a quiet neighborhood. Dinner menu offers affordable 3-course(300dkk) and 5-course(400dkk, $ 50 ish cost) choice, together with 3 special of the day you can add on to your course selection at 75dkk cost. I chose the 5-course that day: Scallops /Turnip /Rapeseed Oil Mackerel /Asparagus /Smoked Cheese Cabbage /Sunflower /Mead Pork Cheeks /Onions /More Onions Rhubarb /White Chocolate /Verbena Basically, I enjoyed all of them, the spirit of the cuisine offered at Radio is to make each ingredient stand out. The seasonal ingredient are from their own garden, and partially from local farmers, so it’s fresh and healthy. It’s not a place to make you full, but to make you full of joy and surprise. I love the scallops, the pork cheeks and Rhubarb best, it’s definitely worth at least one Mechlin star, it’s currently on the Mechlin guide, and I believe it’s a Mechlin to be! Visit it before the price goes up once it owns its star! Service is absolutely awesome and professional, the waiter at our table was extremely helpful, event ran outdoor to guide us to the metro station just 1 minute away. Side note: they do charge for extra bottle of water for 100dkk. Highly recommend

Really good place. The first 2 course where delicious, but being seafood there was nothing spectacular about them. The last three courses were pretty dam tasty. Onions & barley, chicken, and the carrot dessert was perfect! The unpasteurized cheese was amazing, being that it had to be cured in Germany in order to serve it, but it was made with local milk! Great place overall, German themed wine was good as well!

We opted for the three course option with wine pairing. The wines were absolutely fantastic and went perfectly with the meal. They also had several gorgeous decanters which perfectly fit the general vibe and ambiance of the venue(only one wine was served in one, but they also showed us an extremely cool/unique champagne decanter). The meal itself was excellent and I was absolutely blown away by it. Each dish had a plethora of flavors and mouth-watering depth. It was clean, fresh, vibrant, the flavors were strong. The sauces were also so good that we all found ourselves using the fresh baked bread to soak up every last drop. Our waiter was fantastic. Not only great at explaining and walking us through what we were eating, but also generally extremely helpful and informative. The whole evening was just wonderful from start to finish. I highly recommend it! After initially being a bit of a skeptic, I’m now totally sold on New Nordic. It is one of those rare food trends that actually lives up to the hype.

Lovely food, amazing service and very elegant vibes. It is a beautiful experience to eat here. It’s pricey but worth every penny. I ate here for lunch with other three people and we were all amazed by the presentation of each course and by how inventive, delicious and fresh everything was. The beer was great too.

My first tasting menu ever. I had the 3 course tasting menu paired with three wines. Good food in a packed restaurant. I had the Scallops /Herbs /Valle, Norweigian Salmon/Dehydrated Carrot, and Chicken /Cabbage /Garlic. Smoked salmon was cooked fine and the chicken was very moist. Loved the scallops too. I needed to be gluten free, dairy free, mustard free, and corn free. Great accommodations for me. Loved the food and service.

Stingy Pour. .. Generous B.O. Five course tasting menu was uneven: three dishes were very good/excellent — one memorable; two very average(undercooked baby carrots dominated raw langoustine). Very consistent, however, was that each course took over half an hour. Wine pairing on the other hand, was excellent throughout — Interesting, tasty wines. In what is supposed to be a design capital, the painful lighting is unacceptable: a solitary bulb — hung at precisely the wrong height — glares down on each table, making it feel like an interrogation chamber. All was undermined by our waiter’s miserly wine service — made worse by seeing other waiter’s generosity — often topping-up, which ours never did. Even worse — and despite any current hipster aversion to deodorant — he smelled as if he had not showered for days, his b.o. lingering after each visit. The fInal insult, after little wine and a long, long dinner, was their charging 10USD per 75 cl bottle of water.

Visiting Denmark this week and was a bit disappointed to not get into Noma. No worries as Radio was a revelation. Excellent but unobtrusive service combined with food that was simple but with full diverse flavors. The Cabbage with cheese foam got this non cheese eater to wish for seconds. All for a price that was very affordable. Can’t wait to go again!

Claus Meyer has an amazing legacy in Denmark. Not many folks outside of Scandanavia know that he owns delis, bakeries, flour/vinegar produciton and is also behind the world renowned Noma. He is also a chief proponent behind the New Nordic Cuisine movement. The reason I knew about him? PBS airs a show called New Scandanavian Cooking for which he was a star of with a number of other Scandinavian chefs. So for years I’d watch reruns of this show but never knew what the food was like. Finally making it to Copenhagen I would immerse myself in Meyer cuisine. Radio is one of the newest of Meyer’s restaurants and is a partnership with chefs Jesper Kirketerp and Rasmus Kliim. From the vegetable farm outside of Copenhagen they draw their ingredients and create a vegetable focused menu at affordable prices but with high levels of cooking. You can choose from 3 or 5 dishes and supplement a cheese dish fi you choose. Appropriate wine pairings are the same price as the menu. We decided we were going all in so we ended up with: Scallops /Herbs /Valle Asparagus /Oland Wheat /Black Olives Norweigian Salmon/Dehydrated Carrot Pork /Radishes /Sorrel Rhubarb /fermented apple /Malt Cheese Another fantastic meal along a line of fantastic meals. My lord was it filling too. This maybe one of the best price performance values in Copenhagen for high level cooking. To top it off their«split» of a wine pairing is beyond generous. Again, the bread is outstanding but many do say Meyer’s Bakery is amongst the best so I couldn’t argue there. The Salmon and Dehydrated carrot dish was memorable amongst many of the restaurants we’d eaten at and I include Noma in this mix. Our server Bo was super nice, very laid back and very informative. He answered any questions we wanted to know about the food, the culture, and gave us recommendations on many places to eat, drink, and see. After a good 4 hours I was ready to take a nap but with some of their great tea I was revitalized. I think Radio is a sleeper as it’s so new but don’t let that keep you from trying it. It’s certainly phenomenal food in the disguise of a laid back bistro.
