Really cool and interesting museum! I learned so many things of the danish history that I had no clue about. We showed up a bit late so we missed the guided visit but it was very exciting to read about all the battles and see all the old ships, costumes and items they used at that time. You can experience some boats from the inside and actually feel like your on a real one, it was really cool but scary somehow. Strongly recommended!

If you’re interested about danish history, their ships, how they were build, Danish navy and lot more you should pay the museum a visit. It’s free entrance, it’s located next to the canal so you can see old Copenhagen buildings. I was afraid the visit to the museum was going to be boring but it certainly was NOT. We got a guided tour through the museum, the guide was funny, had a broad knowledge, answered questions and made history exciting. Definitely worth the visit

Now that it’s part of the National Museum, the entrance to the Orlogsmuseet(Naval Museum) is free. It’s an interesting place and you learn a lot about the layout of the Copenhagen habour and the history of ship building. Also fun are the rebuilt interiors of a torpedo boat and a submarine. You can climb to the gun turret of the torpedo boat. The interior of the submarine is similarly interesting, you can access the officer chambers and push the buttons in the sonar room(although nothing will happen). The museum was nearly empty when I went on a Saturday and except for one large group of little children dressed as pirates(birthday party?), we had the space to ourselves. Come for an hour or so. It won’t take too much longer than that to get through this museum. It’s two floors and you get through the displays pretty quickly. The audio displays explaining the history of the harbour can get a little long. I wish they had written signs for those.
