They get one star for being friendly and trying! They tried… They failed! I put them to the simplest, yet apparently hardest, of test –the«Margherita test». It all started with Queen Margherita in Naples year 1889, when this classic pizza was invented by pizzaiolo Raffaele Esposito symbolizing the Italian flag with three simple ingredients: tomato, basil and mozzarella — red, green and white. This simple composition is the very foundation of which every pizza rests — if you get this wrong, you’re in big trouble, especially if you’re trying to make pizza making your living! I showed them a picture of how I believe a Margherita should look like( ) and asked: «can you make me a pizza like this? A Classic Margherita?» The guy smiled and ensured me they could make it. «Great!» I replied and ordered a second pizza this one a Margherita but with the addition of mushrooms. It took them about 15 minutes to prepare the pizzas and I didn’t bother to check the boxes and went out into the street, into the rain, with the joy and excitement of soon getting to bite into this delicious Italian classic! To my surprise they managed to completely screw up my order and instead of a simple Margherita — a perfect vegetarian choice — I got a pizza with kebab meat and mushrooms and a poorly prepared«Margherita» with only tomato and cheese. Conclusion: FAILED!
