We had a lovely meal here. Curry puffs are pretty good as was the garlic naan and chicken tikka marsala. Service was prompt and polite and they spoke good English too. Top place! Food wasn’t spicy but had good flavours.

For all people saying that’s weird that an Indian restaurant serves beef… well, it’s a Pakistani restaurant serving some Indian dishes, but still a Pakistani restaurant. So expect a few differences with respect to the Indian food you’re used to. The staff speaks perfect English and was super attentive without being intrusive. Food was simply amazing. I recommend any dish with ‘cottage cheese’(but don’t expect anything like the English cottage cheese) and the chief’s dessert, a mix of home made mango ice-cream, nuts and dates, and some round deep-fried dough balls soaked in honey. Libidinous.

After eating only Danish food for almost the entire week while visiting my friend’s family, we both wanted something DIFFERENT. Since we’re both major fans of Indian food we checked Unilocal(obviously) and found that this place was literally around the corner from our hotel and I am SOGLAD we did. This was absolutely delicious. We started with Fish pakora(crispy little fish bites with some tasty salad to go with it and a great sauce for dipping), and the papadoms(which are crispy things that come with a sweet sauce and a spicier sauce to put over the top). NONE of the appetizers were left because they were delicious and we were hungry. For our entrees we both requested that he make them hot and after checking with us that we were sure, he went off into the kitchen. Both of us drank a King fisher beer while we waited(tasty) and were so excited when the lamb tikka masala and the lamb biryani showed up. At first both of us were sighing that they hadn’t made the food spicy but SHEESH does it sneak up on you! By the end of the meal both of us were reaching for our beer and laughing at how the heat built up. If you like it hot, just ASK when you order and then wait to enjoy it. The lamb was extremely tender, and these were fantastic portions. Neither of us finished ours, but when the waiter insisted we try the dessert special of the night(for free, mind you!) we had to cave because it was gulab jamun and I love it. We said just to bring a bite or two and he came out with 10 little gulab jamun donut balls drizzled in sweetness. We each took a couple and then realized we were going to have to waddle back to the hotel in a stupor. The food was GREAT, the service was GREAT, and I really wish I knew a place this tasty where I live in Texas. Highly recommend it!

This restaurant was fabulous! There were three of us and we shared the butter chicken, the spinach and lamb and the mixed vegetables. I love butter chicken in general and this was the best I’ve ever had. Really good flavor and the meat was super tender. The mango lassi was also superb. The rest of the food was also great but the butter chicken made the biggest impression. Friendly service and a nice atmosphere.

Good Indian/Pakistanian place with midian size a la carte menu. They also have some set menus, if you do not know how to combine the different dishes. The polite and humours waiters can also help you. The food is spicy but not hot. They have worked a lot to get the right favours. You are asked how spicy you want you food. You can get more servings, if you are not quite full.

Eh, just average really. Cold papadoms, really, really soggy king prawns(some of them basically just dissolved in my mouth). Service was good but I wouldn’t return, nor recommend as it was just distinctly average. at best.

Decent Indian food at reasonable pricing. But an Indian restaurant with beef on the menu? After a day of travel to get to Copenhagen, we were hungry and tired, so a cursory Unilocal search found Al-Diwan and its otherworldly 5-star rating. Coming in, of course everyone speaks English. Solid menu with many of the core basic Indian dishes we know and love. One super-weird, possibly local market concession is that they had beef dishes on the menu. If you know anything about India, umm.. .yeah. Putting that aside, the food was pretty good. My lamb dish tasted a bit different from the standard Indian dishes I know from New York City, but was still decent. She liked her buttered chicken, but again it was not what she was used to, but was still fine. «Didn’t taste bad, but tasted off. Not authentic buttered chicken» — her words exactly. The naan was definitely different from normal naan, felt more like a giant seasoned pita pocket, definitely different and untraditional. And the rice was, umm, rice. One order of naan and one order of rice was enough for our meals too, saving a bit of money there. Service was solid, food was okay, atmosphere was nice, so that make a 3-star for me.

It’s not every day I feel like carb-loading and sweating while I eat, but when I have one of those days, they will, from here on out, be spent at Al-Diwan. Extra points awarded because I’m sick, can’t breathe through my nose, can’t smell anything, generally feel like death, and still managed to taste the flavor in my dinner. What a pleasant delight that was after mouth-breathing all the day long. Pro-tip: if you happen to be a fan of a particular Indian dish that you don’t see on the menu, ask them to make it for you. They are pretty open minded. I got my saag paneer without any problem, and was able to switch out rice for naan at no extra charge. Their mango lassi is also brilliant.

Went back a week later. Got the Sheek Kabob and Prawns Masala. Both were awesome. The kabob was much spicier than I expected, and came with some delicious grilled vegetables.
