Rose’s Tree of Life Caribbean Delight

Went for the lunch special: jerk chicken, rice and coleslaw…$ 6.99. received 1 very small honey garlic drum stick and about a ¼ cup of rice, no slaw. Food tasted like it had been sitting in the warmers for a few days. If you like being hungry after you eat and don’t care what food tastes like this would be a good place to try. If not, go elsewhere.

We rolled into Woodstock on our way to Toronto. Parking on Dundas was a snap and Rose’s was one of the first places we saw. I love Jamaican food. The spicier that better as far as I’m concerned. The menu has most of the familiar Jamaican items, from goat to jerk to roti. You can choose a small or a large portion. Most large portions come in at 9 bucks. I elected a small portion of curry vegetables with rice and peas and an Island Soda. My bf ordered the jerk chicken. Everything was great! The chicken was amazing, a leg and a thigh that were both falling off the bone. Diane, the lovely server, saw me dousing my veggies with hot sauce and said, «Girl I could really cook for you.» (It sounds much better in a Jamaican accent).
I don’t know if I’ll ever make it back to Woodstock but if I do Rose’s will be the reason.
