Osaka Sushi

Very poor service, felt completely ignored and there were only a few people in the restaurant. Had to keep asking for refills on drinks and when we wanted to order a second round of sushi was given a very smug «oh I thought you were done». The fish was not very fresh and there was way too much rice in the rolls. I ordered sashimi twice and both times it was never delivered.

Nice and clean atmosphere, and I like how there are plenty of booths. Sushi was okay. At first I was surprised how cheap the salmon roll was, but when it came out I realized why: because it is miniscule! I couldn’t really detect the flavour/​texture of the salmon in it. I also had the Hawaii roll (Mango, crab, cucumber, mayo), which was okay but overpriced ($ 7.99 for 6 pieces).

I been going here with me and my friend for about a year now and I have to say they are amazing the staff know us every time we come here they are very friendly and they have the best spider rolls and the best beef bento so if you thinking of going here then you should because the food here will make your day.

To be honest, I’m a bit confused as to why this place has 5 stars.
I’ve been here three times, and each time I’m disappointed. I find the staff is not friendly and doesn’t make the experience enjoyable, and the food is extremely mediocre.
The menu is lacking and many items are not available for lunch, when at most sushi places they would be. They also don’t have a large variety of rolls or tepanyaki. I found the tempura bland and the teriyaki chicken has so much pepper on it, you can barely see the chicken.
I don’t think I would come back — I would rather take the 20 – 30 minutes to drive out of town to go for sushi.

I just want to say that I was at first skeptical about this sushi restaurant due to the location (right downtown Woodstock) and the lack of reviews, but I have been coming here every 2 weeks for about 2 years. After signing up with Unilocal I truly believe that this place deserves a stellar review. I usually get take-​out which means that I come in, look at the menu, sit and wait, and then take my food and go home. They always bring me a complimentary glass of lemon water or tea, and I am always greeted with a smile and they are always happy to see me. On to the food…
The food is significantly better than the sushi at Chiba in Woodstock. The rice that they use is top notch and they don’t overload their rolls with too much rice (when rolls are overloaded with too much rice it means that they’re trying to make you as full as possible so you won’t order any more items on the all you can eat list, or they’re just sloppy and don’t care about the quality of the product they’re putting out). I’ve never had this problem with Osaka, whether i’ve ordered all you can eat or off the regular menu, the product is always top-​notch. We ordered the spring rolls, the asparagus wrapped beef, and two orders of the veggie dragon roll (EFFING delicious!!!)… Oh man is that roll ever tasty… especially with a little side serving of spicy mayo. I can’t express enough the quality of their sushi rolls, very tasty and very very professional.
The staff at Osaka are very family oriented and very very friendly. I like seeing the team-​work they put into the operation and the always smiling and happy to see you attitude. At Chiba sushi I’ve walked in many times and seen the sweaty and possibly over-​worked staff slumped over in the booths right in front of the cash register, sitting in numbers and eating their own food that they have cooked right in front of the customers, which quite frankly is unacceptable.
Give this place a chance, ignore the location and go in and order some of their tasty food!

The best all-​you-​can-​eat sushi restaurant around. The food always taste fresh and delicious. The staff is friendly, quick, and rarely miss an order. We love this place and eat there every week.

The Best sushi place in town by far! The sushi pizza is so good! I get the dragon roll and tempura and its always great! I’ve even had friends come over who eat a lot of sushi from Toronto and order in from Osaka sushi and they were impressed! I will only order Sushi from Osaka Sushi as long as I’m in Woodstock!

Excellent food, quiet and friendly atmosphere. I come here with large groups all the time and they are very accommodating.
The rice is always cooked to perfection and the seaweed is crispy and never chewy.
Wait staff take care to remember your preferences and are quick to refill drinks and offer assistance with the menu.
Osaka is my favorite restaurant in town!
