I have been here once with my husband and a couple times with a friend of mine. When I first went here with my husband, I didn’t really mind the food that much, it was just okay. When I came here again the next couple of times with my friend(who by the way, really loved the place), I was quite disappointed. Sura was an AYCE restaurant, offering both Japanese and minimal Korean cuisine. The times that I went with my friend, it seemed to have progressively gotten worse. The sushi rolls were humongous, but not in the good way. Fillings were barely there, and the roll was wrapped with thick layer of rice. Basically, you’d be full after a couple of rolls, due to being stuffed by the amount of rice in each of the rolls, and probably a method of theirs to get you full quicker. The appetizers were okay, but was definitely better than the rolls. Fortunately, it didn’t cost me a fortune to eat there like other AYCE places. Lunch was only $ 14.29 for adults, and dinner can be cheap too at the same price, but only if you opted out of nigiri and sashimi; otherwise, it was $ 22.32 for dinner. Sura no longer offers AYCE anymore, and seems to have now shifted their focus from Japanese cuisine to Korean, as they have changed their sign from«Sura Restaurant» to «Sura Korean and Japanese Restaurant». Therefore, they have since expanded their menu to include more Korean dishes, including stews, spicy rice cakes, stir-fried sweet potato starch noodles, korean pancakes. They even have Chinese Korean dishes, like tang sooyuk(sweet and sour pork), jajangmyeon(noodles with black bean sauce), and jjamppong(spicy seafood noodle soup). The only other places in the city that have Chinese Korean dishes are Dowon and Dad’s Family Restaurant. I haven’t been to the restaurant since the new change, but I might possibly give the place another shot, considering that they now offer more Korean dishes, which I would like to try. But as of now, my rating stands as is.

My dad an I came here to eat sushi the other day. We ordered the All You Can Eat dinner special for 16.99 Each which is a fairly good price. The sushi was well presented with nice little garnishes and such. The sushi tasted great, and not only the sushi but soups, and other entrees did too. There weren’t many flaws to the restaurant except for the very dirty washrooms and the waiting time on sushi. In regards to the waiting time, its takes about 25 minutes for each order of ours; even without many customers. Overall we’ll be coming back. 4⁄5.

I love this place! I’ve gone for both lunch & dinner all you can eat. The food is delicious and they have a wide range of dishes to choose from. I don’t eat meat or fish, that being said, Japanese cuisine has some of the best vegetarian & vegan dishes, and Sura provides many scrumptious choices for me. The portions are perfect for all you can eat. The staff is always attentive, pleasant and professional, for example my dyslexia kicked in & I put a check in the wrong box, causing confusion when our waitress brought a dish we thought we didn’t order to our table. No problem, and they didn’t charge extra(which would only be $ 1, but still). The only thing I wish for would be the adult dinner price to be a bit cheaper. The prices are decent the way they are(especially lunch, adults $ 14.29, kids $ 8.93) but being on a tight budget this is just my opinion. I’ve never been disappointed by Sura, and always leave with a full, happy belly.
