Worst experience! I’ve never had a restaurant experience such as this. We made a reservation at the Metropolitan; as the lunch menu was good, the décor was lovely, and the staff were nice. The person that took our reservation said they open at 11am on Saturdays, so we made a reservation for 12pm. When we got there at 12pm, both doors were locked. We were confused so we walked to the MTS centre (in –35 weather) to try to call them. After numerous times trying to phone the main line, the food and beverage manager, and the general manager, there was no answer. We tried one last time and the hostess answered. She said the doors were open at 11am. We said «uhhhhhh…no it isn’t!!!» Afterwards, we decided they do not deserve our money, and we ate at Moxie’s instead. This experience was like no other!!! We WILL NOT GO BACK.

I had lunch at this restuarant today. There is also a theatre attached, which I did not vist. The dining area is very elegant. The lunch menu was short but diverse. The wine list was above average. Lunch on Saturday of a three day holiday weekend was, as expected, slow. My waiter was very attentive and answered all my questions. Since it was lunch, I only tried the French onion soup (very good) and the bison kafta (good). The bison may have been better if the chef remembered that there is less fat in bison than in beef, so bison tends to taste dry if even slightly overcooked. The other items on the menu looked very good, which was unfortunate since I did not have room to try more and they are not open tomorrow.
