The Skinny: ah Dairy Queen! your delicious creamy concoctions are crack for my brain(4), service: friendly and prompt(4), value: you can’t place a value on this delicious soft-serve iced milk… you just can’t!(4) In this day and age, I ain’t getting any younger. So I need exercise. What better motivator than to go for a half-hour walk to the local friendly Dairy Queen, lol! Let’s get this straight — what makes DQ special is the fact that they serve ice milk instead of ice cream. With the lower fat content(not the sugar, mind), it’s a nice lighter treat in the summer heat. But let’s face it — even in the middle of winter at –30 degrees celsius(–22 in fahrenheit), I’ll have the urge to splurge and get myself a mint oreo blizzard or a simple chocolate dipped cone. My cousin loves getting a ice cream cake for her birthday. I also have to mention it’s awesome to be back in Canada where they know how to make strawberry-banana blizzard(this flavour does not exist in the US — occasionally they will make it for you if they’re cool about it). Why is this outlet special? Well, super friendly service for one. Secondly, although I know they’re supposed to use the same mix everywhere, this location’s machines seem to make the ice milk smoother and creamier(don’t ask me why). Third, the people here know how to make a truly homogenized Blizzard — no large amounts of unmixed ice milk in these babies! Because you rock the house, you guys get a 4 starred review.
