A lovely surprise… quaint, local, seasonally-sourced, healthy and innovative restaurant. Pros: –see above –outstanding, personalized service… the waitress was not only attentive to every need, seemed genuinely to love her job and customized my meal from three different items on the menu and did not charge me extra. She even made my friend happy by confirming the bacon was ethically sourced(with a wink, of course) –comfortable, cozy atmosphere with specials written on a chalkboard(that night they had pork tenderloin, soups etc) and a fire oven in the corner… you can watch the chefs bake the pizzas! –the food is outstanding… the menu varied, seasonal, local, healthy, simple but innovative and constantly changing from what I can see… plus, it tastes amazing! –Bonfire Flatbread with hot spinach artichoke and parmesan spread: delicious, not your average doughy flatbread its more light and baked in their oven to give it more of a crunchy outside. The spreads(which were very generous) were piping hot and warm, melty goodness. –Mixed Salad of baby field greens, red onion, currants, toasted pecans, balsamic vinaigrette and crostini; the crostini was plain and dry, but the salad was fresh and delicious, especially the currants and perfectly toasted pecans –Fire-roasted vegetables were a mix of zucchini, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions and peppers which were well grilled, spiced and toasty warm. Never thought cold lettuce would go well with warm veggies, but it was delicious. –Added spicy prawns to my salad(which was not an option on the menu, but is a pizza topping) which were out of this world… plump, sweet meat perfectly grilled and well spiced(not just your generic hot sauce heat) with a thin glaze. –Wild Mushroom & Maple Bacon Pizza had garlic spread and blue cheese which brought out the flavor of the perfectly cooked mushrooms. Even my friend who doesn’t love mushrooms liked these. The crust is perfectly baked and thin, but not too crunchy. –Margherita Pizza: I don’t know who Carlo is, but he makes amazing tomato sauce! –Nice wine selection –Great value for the price!!! Cons: –Parking can be tricky on busy nights –We weren’t offered dessert, and so I’m pretty sure they don’t serve it. Sad because I was hoping after such an excellent meal they might have even better dessert… but I guess they are sticking to what they know. Its commendable that they can admit their weaknesses and not bother ruining their otherwise amazing menu. And I got to keep the night going by heading to another dessert place anyway! –Close at 10:30pm which can be a little early sometimes. –The restaurant is very small… maybe 10 tables and a bar area, which makes for nice ambience(it wasn’t noisy at all, in fact, since there was no loud music and quiet conversation with a bustling kitchen which was nice) but I can see having to wait for a bit on busy nights Overall, I can’t say enough good things and will definitely be back. Took a gamble on a new place and it definitely paid off. I can’t wait to try the Cioppino and see what other specials they come up with.

Between the pizza and the pasta we had some suggested by a very good server this was a very enjoyable meal. If you wondering the meal with wine for the two of use cam to just over $ 60, other then I think wine is marked up to much at most restaurants it was a tasty meal. We are planning to make it back again soon.

This place expanded into the space next door adding a lot more seating but it’s still a long wait on a Saturday night! It’s a very popular casual neighbourhood bistro where a wait of 45 mins and upwards is very much guaranteed on the weekends. Yup… there are no reservations here so I’d suggest visiting during off peak hours or on the week days if you hate waiting. There is no real waiting area as you are just standing on the tiny doorway with a bunch of other hungry diners. They also operate a very popular take out service as well. This place is run by the same owner as «Café Carlo,» though the menus are a bit different, I definitely prefer«Bonfire Bistro» way more. There’s a lot more selections available here than Café Carlo. Once you do get seated, the servers are friendly and knowledgeable about the food and the kitchen turns around dishes at a good pace during a full house. They always have a huge list of specials available. They are known for their thin crust wood-fired pizzas($ 15-$ 17) — they work well to share as an appy or a lighter main. We shared the wild mushroom pizza: porcini, portobello and oyster mushrooms with wilted spinach, fresh herbs, stilton blue and mozzarella cheese on roasted garlic sauce. This pizza was surprisingly subtle despite the strong ingredients — they seem to balance each other out. The«Atlantic Salmon»($ 22.95) — pan roasted and served over a warm creamy baby potato salad with wilted arugula and asparagus. The salmon was perfectly cooked(medium) and had a nice crispy skin. I wasn’t sure about the warm potato salad but I really liked it! It wasn’t overly creamy, good seasoning and the potatoes were cooked appropriately. Great price and a decent sized portion! Ambiance is lively but not overly noisy so it provides for a great bistro vibe but you’re not shouting to your fellow diners. I’d love to go back but probably on a week night(hopefully the wait isn’t so long).

My husband and I visited Bonfire Bistro for lunch. We both had the half pizza lunch special. I had the soup which was fantastic(chorizo black bean chowder) and the vegetarian pizza. My husband had the meat which was salami, yam and black bean(very good) and Caesar salad. The salad was said to be ok. Fast service and cool to watch the pizza’s being made. We will definitely be coming back.

I LOVE this place! The wood-fired pizzas are to die for! I especially like the Mediterranean Vegetarian. The flavours are magical together. They have a different pizza special every night(not on the regular menu), which is fun to try for a change. They also have pastas and dinner entrée specials, though I’ll admit, though I have nothing against them, I come for the pizza. One word of warning: if you decide to try the spicy LaBomba Chicken pizza, it’s really spicy! The small restaurant it began as, expanded to include the space next door about a year ago. Still, they prefer not to take reservations(except for some days including New Years Eve, Valentines Day and Mothers Day) so you may have to wait for a table. On the other hand, if you’re in a small group, you can often get seats at the bar, which is a fun place to sit and watch the pizzas being made.

A great restaurant in the less busy part of Corydon. Great for intimate dinners. Food has consistently been good, with interesting specials. Can get full though as it is a smaller restaurant.
