A cheapish favorite for when we’re craving decent asian food. PROS 1. The general chicken. Me and a female friend come here and split it with white rice and its enough to feed us both happily. I’m probably going to die a few days sooner when I do because of this dish(it’s deep fried obviously). It’s fun to feed the tiny peppers to people who don’t know better(sometimes they’re spicy). 2. Coconut bubble tea. Best coconut flavor and texture in the city. 3. Bubble tea flavor variety! They have so many flavors! Some are not so great, some are okay, coconut is amazing. Most importantly, you can make some godly combinations. Coconut avocado is my favorite because it combines the silkiness of avocado with the flavor of coconut. Coconut + french vanilla and coconut + taro are favorites. * Don’t get the taro from here alone, though. Panda’s taro and bobas are superior, and you can control the sugariness of the drink there, so drive up Pembina a few minutes to grab a taro there. 3. Coconut thai curry and panang curry soups. Delicious. I have a weak spot for thai coconut curry. * If you are seriously looking for the best thai coconut curry try Vientiane or Boun’s near St. Boniface. Those are my gold standard. 4. Shanghai noodles. These will grease your insides, but they’re good. Get them if you love guilty pleasures, or feel like you need another reason to hate yourself(but love those 20 minutes of ravenous bliss). Not bursting with flavor, but one we get regularly. CONS 1. Strawberry bubble tea is artificial tasting. I believe they do use real fruit, but I think there is a flavour boost with something artificial. Ruins their strawberry flavor, and likely other fruit flavors. Mango is safe, though. I rarely find a strawberry flavor that doesn’t taste a step away from childs cough syrup mixed with a ring pop. * Panda tea is an exception with their real fruit strawberry, but I can’t go there and not get the milk or taro flavors, so I’ve never had more than 3 stolen sips from my friends who are boring and always order strawberry? Notes: Friends often get the deluxe BBQ pork vermicelli(dunno what the proper name is). They seem to enjoy it, and I enjoy stealing the pieces of BBQ’d pork from it. If there weren’t other options that I love more I’d get it.

Great variety of good and a very extensive menu at a pretty decent quality. The décor was great and the place was extremely clean. The service was friendly and quick. Had the pad Thai, rice rolls and Vietnamese coffee which were all amazing.

I have never had a bad meal and the staff has always been very friendly and welcoming to someone new the Asian cuisine. I highly recommend the Crab and Shrimp Noodle Soup and a Young Coconut Bubble Tea.

Meh– ok but won’t make a special trip to visit again. Don’t know if it was the fusion but several items we had seemed off. Lack of flavour in vermicelli bowl sauce, moshu crepes super small and were cold, hubby’s viet coffee was bitter. Enjoyed my hot milk bubble tea, the moshu mix, the pork In the vermicelli bowl had nice flavour and the carrot spring roll. Staff is friendly and service was great.

Excellent, attentive service. Great bubble tea selection! Very fresh bubbles! Went to Asia City over the lunch hour with a couple of friends. My friend had the best and freshest looking item on our table — the vermicelli noodles(Fried Vermicelli Singapore Style). Lots of noodles! I ordered from the buffet: fried rice, pepper beef, and General’s Chicken. The peppers were great, the beef was a little too tenderized for my liking. I won’t order this again and likely will steer clear of the buffet because everything looked a little on the re-heated and over-sauced side. That said, the General’s Chicken had a wonderful kick to it – lots of hot peppers! As I looked around at other diners(hopefully discretely!), I noticed that the people who ordered off the menu seemed to have food that looked fresh. I’ll be back — the prices are reasonable, the bubble tea is very good, and there is a large variety of Thai, Vietnamese, and Chinese«fusion» foods that interest me.

Love the boba selections. And they have halo halo which was really good. Portion sizes of the food were large and filling. Will come back again. We also ordered delivery from them and it was piping hot when delivered.

Bubble tea in Winnipeg. Yay! Parking is available all over the nice large lot out front. The restaurant name actually says«East City» in Chinese, but you probably don’t care. Nice fair-sized building, with a fairly trendy interior. The staff were mostly non-Asian. Not that it matters, but I’ll admit I chuckled. Staff were quick and friendly. The menus are split into a food(book) one and a drinks(laminated brochure) one. Just FYI so you save a few minutes. Another interesting thing about this place — they really do serve pan-Asian cuisine here — not just Hong Kong or Taiwanese goodies. My nammer sandwich(banh mi) came served in a bundled plastic bag. I couldn’t help but picture some poor kid suffocating. See pics. It was actually quite tasty! Just the right amount of kick. I would imagine this thing being even more awesome if I had toasted it before eating it. The sandwich did come warm, but I saved it for another day. The strawberry bubble tea tasted suspiciously like liquified ice cream. It was incredibly tasty(think of a strawberry milkshake) — just saying it wasn’t too authentic. And don’t think of the calories. I had it with bubbles — the bubbles were a bit hard at the very core, but otherwise were satisfactory. Maybe there are some other(and possibly better) bubble tea shops around town, but if I don’t find another one to check out, I’ll definitely be back.

The food here is always on point. I love their lunch specials(weekdays 11 – 2). My boyfriend and I each had one item from the specials and the bill was only 14 bucks. The bubble tea here is also really good, the real fruit bubble tea is always creamy and delicious! Only drawback is the service. It is very good service but on 3 occasions multiple people were«serving» us. We weren’t sure who our server was and I think that they didn’t know either since they were both checking on us and waiting on us.
