The décor of this coffee shop/Ice cream parlour is a bit out of place. There are paintings on the wall for sale with little price tags next to them. All the tables and chairs are a misfit, torn and a bit worn out. None of them matched at all. As odd as it sounds, this didn’t bother me much. In fact I was actually happy to have found this place since it was the only place open along the strip that’s still open and selling ice cream during winter. I got the mango coconut and the almond avalanche. The mango coconut was delicious. Super creamy and filled with mango flavors but a bit subtle on the coconut. The almond avalanche had bits of almonds in it which added a crunchy texture. Two scoops cost you about $ 4.79 which is pretty good compared to some places with similar quality. If I remember right, there’s no extra charge on waffle cones but there is a $ 0.50 charge if you want an actual waffle on the side.

I went here twice. It was surprisingly large for a coffee house, which was great because it meant lots of spacious seating. They have wifi, but the first time I went the wifi was not working. They have decent things to eat, which makes it easy to hang out there and get some work done over several hours. Coffee’s not bad(not like it’s turned sour from not being brewed fresh, like at some restaurants), but it’s also not astounding either. I think the main strength of this place is that it is on the beach and has very comfortable, casual seating and decent eats. You also don’t feel like you have to leave, because it’s not that formal. All the other places along the water at White Rock are either formal restaurants or ice cream parlours with no seating. So there is nothing else as casual as this, which is definitely needed on the beach. The staff is friendly and helpful, no complaints there.
