Notebook Galaxy

These guys are life savers. When my lenovo yogapad charger broke, I desperately called every where in town looking for one. I was lucky to have been able to snatch the last one from from Notebook Galaxy.
I called in 5 minute before closing and they waited for me for over 30mins after the closing hour. When I went in, they helped me test out the charger and didn’t rush me at all.

I’ve used these guys a few times over the years for various off warranty Dell Laptops even though they seem to specialize in Acer, LG and Fujitsu branded Laptops.
These guys are life savers. I can’t say I’m a complete computer neophyte but I’m by no means an expert either. Sadly, I probably depend on my computer more than is either recommended or healthy so when my baby stops working and I can’t figure out why, there be big trouble in paradise. This is a relatively small shop so you can typically expect to get pretty fast service. If it’s a quick diagnostic, they often won’t even charge anything (my motherboards fried on my last two Dell laptops).
Getting a computer fixed when it’s beyond my abilities to do so is sort of like going to an auto mechanic /​witch doctor — so it’s often a leap of faith for me. I trust these guys to do the right thing and they will often tell me just to go elsewhere to pick up components if it’s cheaper or if they can’t get it done.
Notebook Galaxy is generally cheaper (in some cases a lot less expensive!) than the other guys in the area like Future Shop and Canada Computers down the street. A full Microsoft Windows reinstall /​virus cleaning /​data recovery will set you back $ 65 here while it costs almost $ 100 elsewhere. This is probably the service for you if you know very little about computers and they’ll also set you up with free virus scanners/​protection software.
While you aren’t going to find a clean lab type environment, they’ve definitely cleaned up the place inside over the years. They’re professional and they seem quite knowledgeable. I am also told they offer onsite service to businesses though I generally just bring my laptop in.
Finding parking at this place is difficult as they only have a few spots out front but you can generally get away with parking for a few minutes next door as they typically can take care of you right away here (though avoid times when it’s just about to close (5.30pm on weekdays) as they seem to get busier then).
